Question on BC: Any idea how much influence the voting forum Microsoft has set up for it has on what they do?
Very little. I have voted for Culdcept Saga over and over and it still is not on the bc list.
Wait, how? It still notes I voted for stuff that I did a while back.
Anyway, I was wondering more about games with fewer votes becoming BC anyway. Like, is each game an individual basis, or is it like how Barbie got in when 360 did it, in that making other games compatible happened to make Barbie BC as well?

Hah. I didn't know that you get an e-mail from Microsoft 'congratulating' you for "..joining the foooour kaaaaay revolution" and that "..all your friends should be jealous!"
Is it just me or did a lot of shows recently shift from allowing you to buy season passes / episode buys to trying to shove their subscriptions down your throat. I don't want HBO, I just want to watch ONE show. >\
It's not even a prompt to get HBO garbage on the xbox
edit: ALSO is it just me or do the tiles on the xbox home page sounds now play in stereo?

Gave Farcry 5 a redbox rental over the weekend--as expected, it looks really good on PC (except when you're at altitude in a mini-plane anyway), but the game is as personally frustrating as all the other titles in the series have been for me. No shortage of havoc you can wreak though.
So Nintendo announced their Switch Online plans. For all intents and purposes, it's the same as Xbox and PlayStation's, but a hell of a lot cheaper, and there's even a family plan that makes it even cheaper the more people you add (up to 8).
So why am I bringing it up here?
I'm just wondering if there would be any reason MS or Sony would lower their versions' prices in order to "compete," which I put in quotes on account of each product being exclusive to its own ecosystem.

Plus if you think that Nintendo's first attempt at a subscription based console network isn't going to be an absolute train wreck you are fooling yourself.
Honestly, I think this is a lot more a case "Nintendo knows that introducing the service after the fact can be a difficult sell (considering how hugely successful the PS4 is, PS+ does not seem to be nearly as prolific as it ought to be), and they think this is as much as they can reasonably charge."
It would be nice (but difficult--not just from a loss of profits standpoint, but how to deal with recent subscription purchases--credit the difference?), but I seriously doubt that's going to happen with either Sony or Microsoft.

Sorry but it's not the same as MS or Sony. 20 NES games is not the equivalent of new current gen releases for free. And Nintendo's online is... extremely questionable. Just the concept of it requiring a shitty phone app to get some (but not all) of the functionality of the other two makes it not basically the same. The price is the only wise part of it. It won't be comparable service, it accordingly has a lower price.

Santa Monica is super interesting because, as you'll remember, last month they hired Darrel Gallagher for the Microsoft Studios Executive Leadership team, which was a curious thing to do as everyone on the team besides Phil Spencer(who runs Xbox) and Matt Booty (Who coordinates Xbox's first party efforts) is in charge of one of Xbox's studios, and yet, at the time there wasn't a studio for Gallagher to be in charge of.

Darrell Gallagher's last job? Senior Vice President and Head of Development at Activision.
Was Takedown before or after Revenge? It's been years.
Looking at my shelf; well before; it's an oXbox title. I just want me some more crash mode! Tuktuks flying everywhere!
Revenge is oXbox, too...
Ah...I see the confusion: Revenge was re-released 3 years later for PS3 and 360I are idiot who needs more coffee. Revenge was released for oXbox, PS2, and 360 (the 360 version came out a year after the original PS2/Xbox versions). Still, looking at Wikipedia, it looks like Takedown was Burnout 3 (2004)...Revenge is Burnout 5 (2005)

It would be the fourth Burnout since legends was on PSP and mostly a mix of 2 and 3. Was amazing when it came out though. I enjoy the almost pinball physics of bumping cars from behind and sending them crashing into other cars in Revenge. It's what made me love it more than 3.
If you never played any of the classic Burnout games. I would implore you to give Burnout a Purchase. At $10 bucks it is a steal and worth it for the Crash mode alone. I would love if gamers sent a message that these are the Burnout games we want. Paradise is nice. But the old Arcade Racer / DESTROYER games were just god tier levels of fun.
So it seems like my One X loses internet capability about 50% of the time when I put it into standby mode. When I resume, it'll not only be disconnected, but it flat out can't even find the internet, even if I got to connection test. I have to do a complete restart to restore internet functionality. And I'm on a wired connection too, so I dunno what gives.
Oh shit! Xbox One games you get from gold, and don't have installed, get a special "Gold" section in Games and Apps now, instead of being in your "ready to install" section.
Xbox 360 games from Gold are still in Ready to Install, since you basically own them with or without gold.

Kinda defeats the point of the "Instant On" mode.
That definitely doesn't sound normal--especially on a wired connection to. Mine's on wifi and never loses the connection (granted, it's about two meters from the router).
You mentioned that your solution is a complete restore--maybe a factory reset, tedious as it is, could help? It's less tedious if you're storing your games on an external drive.

The Plot Thickens!
That's a funny way to spell "Takedown"...
I think the general consensus was way better than the first game, but the start of the game is better than the back half.

I honestly can't remember.
But I can say this: Revenge is WAAAAAAAY better than Takedown. Solely because I don't have Takedown, but do have Revenge.

Yeah I'm getting issues with the store as well, like no matter what category I click on to browse through it comes back with "no results".
