Illios well map, we're losing and in overtime, timer starts ticking down, I'm Sombra running back to try to stretch out the timer, toss the beacon over the wall, flash on over directly into the well.
As I tossed it i had the briefest thought of "wonder how far away the well is from the wall. I'll probably be right in front of it. Hope the Lucio isn't nearby."
Only up to 1450 tonight. Still just barely getting more wins than losses. When you know you have to balance out every loss with a win just to stay even, much less advance, it's really fucking discouraging. Like, that narrow victory I just earned was pointless because here comes a double sniper one tank game to even it out.
Sigh I really hate mystery heroes

It's so depressing playing Reinhardt and being booped around like a little puppy. He's 7 and a half feet tall and must weigh a ton in that armor, come on!
This is supposed to be one of the most popular games in the world, why the heck does it take so long to find a quick play game?
I usually only have to wait like a minute, that's not very long. It's a paid game, it's not going to have the number of players of a f2p game like League of Legends.
3 minutes is pretty absurd though, like at least 18 minutes of downtime cumulative between the relatively low amount of games I ended up playing. That's not great.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

Are you still in your ranking games? Those take longer, because it tries matching you with others ranking.
Also, Blizzard intentionally raised the search time for better matches, this was a deliberate decision because people kept complaining

Mystery Heroes is going to be like that though because of the huge reward you get for not dying so that you can actually get an ult off.

So in my (limited) experience the best way to counter Brigitte is to starve her of Inspire procs, primarily with heavy barrier use and retaining the high ground. She has a devastating close-range game in the way that a Tank usually does, but lacks the ability to force an engagement as Winston's Jump Pack, D.Va's boosters, or even Reinhardt's Charge or Roadhog's hook do. Her only option in the face of an enemy planted higher up is to trundle to the stairs or lob a dodgable projectile at them every four seconds.
She is unique among Supports in being completely unable to restore her own health spontaneously absent an enemy. Mercy regenerates, Moira has her healing orb, Lucio has the healing song, Zenyatta has shields, and Ana can hit herself with her grenade, but Brigitte on her own can't recover.
However, exploiting these weaknesses requires your whole team to be in on the joke. If anyone goes into Brigitte's flail range, she starts giving out healing. So I feel she will stomp on QP in perpetuity while seeing less (but hardly zero) use in Comp.
On an unrelated note, Reinhardt loves it when enemies stand still for a half-second or so. Makes it much harder for them to sidestep a charge. Brigitte makes a good partner that way.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.
Okay after two sessions post-Brigitte, I think I may've figured out how to handle her, in general, when playing Tracer.
Never Duel Her. Like yeah, you can pull it off, just like it's totally possible to dive straight at a Sentry Bastion and somehow kill him, but it's just asking for trouble or more likely, death.
She feels like a really hard Tracer counter in that she has a response to almost any way you want to approach her, has a heal that feels like it was custom-made to deny your flank assassination attempts, and she becomes vastly more dangerous when you get inside your usual assassination range comfort zone (within 5 yards). From 10-20 yards she's got whip shot, which'll drop you to half health and force a recall or retreat. In that all-important close range there's Shield Bash on its microscopic cooldown, which all-but guarantees your death if it connects, and the whole time you're fighting her she's healing and building up more armor that your guns have trouble cutting through. While most other heroes have trouble hitting Tracer, Brigitte's flail is indiscriminate, like Winston's Tesla or Rein's Hammer, and she can reliably put damage on you.
Answer 1: Treat Brigitte like she's a crack shot Bastion. Never approach from the front, only from a flank, and if she sees you coming bail out and pick another approach. Never duel her - only assassinate her when she doesn't know you're coming. If you can catch her at half-health, or anything under 200HP, you can one-clip her from behind, and her hitbox is a comfy size for sticking a pulse bomb to if you can get her from behind or the side.
Answer 2 : Treat Brigitte like she's a carry DPS. Don't try to duel her - only engage her (again, only from behind) when she's already engaged with your team. You can burn down her shield to deny her the ability to shield bash (for a few seconds) - which can work out, sometimes - but that makes you a primary target for whip shot, which is 50% of your health bar, and forces you to rewind or disengage for a health pack.
Answer 3 : Treat Brigitte like a carry support, and don't try to kill her directly. Brigitte is very much a support in that her greatest strength actually comes from the team around her, and she becomes more vulnerable without that additional support and threat - if you remove the Tank she's hiding behind or the healer who's pocketing her or the DPS who's benefitting from her Inspire, you've significantly weakened her.
It might just be that I haven't had enough practice against her, but more and more I'm feeling like she's the closest Overwatch has to a hard Tracer counter. Maybe I've just been having really bad games against much better players lol, but fighting a half-decent Brigitte is harder than fighting an excellent McCree. For me, at least. So far.

Sounds about right based on my experience on the other side of that matchup. If she can get a really good clip off before the Brigitte is committed to the fight then it's pretty doable, you just gotta not be super obvious with your blinks - making a soft read on those is how I get like 3/4 of my Tracer kills in those situations. Whether or not the Brigitte is actually getting active Inspire healing is also extremely relevant. If I were a Tracer and didn't have Pulse Bomb up, I wouldn't even begin to fuck with a Brig that had a source of healing nearby.
Also, please add 'comboing a Tracer with an exact prediction on her recall spot' to the top 10 list of satisfying moments in OW. Brigitte has a lot of moments like that, I'm just blown away at how fun the gameplay is for her.
Lots of Pharah in DM today. One got cocky and ulted in the open. I hit Q at the same time she did, shrugged, and lept the tire into the air to blow her up.
...I died, but I'm counting that as a moral victory.

Decided for some reason I wanted to try comp again. Won the first game.
Mystery Heroes retains its existing lack of concern for character limits or good team composition rules.
However, both teams play with the same "deck" of characters-- if the first person to die on team A gets changed to character X, then the first person to die on team B gets changed to character Y. Therefore, any idiotic team composition available to team A is theoretically available to team B, assuming all players die in the same order, and any series of bad or hard-countered characters that team A has to suffer through could also be inflicted on team B.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.
I've really been taken with some of the original character designs again for some reason. Like D.Va's original pink mech is kind of perfect, and outside the cruiser skin, I"m not sure any of her variants are really better. Ditto Junkrat, mei, etc. They really did great work in basic character design.
Played some soldier this week and did alright, but wow does brigitte take the wind out of his sails. Even her passive heal makes the ult whiff and one match the same brigette kept chasing me down and clubbing me to death. Like, even with sprint you can't run way, just bonk bonk bonk dead. I still think the melees involving her are some of the most exciting I've been in though. She's a blast to play but difficult to fight.
Oh good, a new support character is out, maybe now I'll get to finally get some time in on DPS because I don't have to heal ... oh, no tanks ... sigh. (sometimes I just play dps anyway, but it goes predictably poorly)
Okay I was able to play two games as Brigitte, and I'm prepared to update my feelings on her.
If she goes into Comp on May 16th with a one-second stun on a five-second cooldown I will be shocked. This is absolutely bonkers. Don't come at me, bro. You don't want this. I'll kill ya.

I could understand maybe adding a second or two to her stun CD, and in exchange slightly buffing her passive heal.
The thing with Brigitte though is that she really does need that stun to like, even contribute in team fights, with the way she has to position up front she's constantly on the edge of getting picked off.
Honestly she feels a touch underpowered to me right now, she's quite good in very particular types of team strats, against certain types of teams, but she can also get countered real hard, and her healing is weak enough that it puts her team into kind of a tough spot for who to take along with her.

OT: I love Mike's evolution in style, it looks great.
Sym and Bridgette combo is painful and fun. Got the achievement for shutting down an ult for smacking a Rein mid-Earthshatter
I effectively got to test her out as the only healer, since the Luccio kept running away to wall ride and shoot people. Worked ok as long as I had a fight, though if they went Pharah it would have been rough. Having to spam :"NEED HEALING" as a healer is embarrassing though.

I can agree to disagree. Just not to my taste.
Okay well now I need to chime in and say I feel like the most powerful thing in any comic is often facial expressions and they've gotten absolutely incredible.
Also Overwatch, let's see... ah yes. As Brigitte, it sucks when you send your whipshot into a group to get heals going and completely whiff it. It's like "well now I feel kinda' Sittin'-Ducky..."

It's the lack of mobility that keeps her in check as someone noted earlier. If you're trying to advance on withering fire to melee range solo you're going to have a bad time. She's very strong once she's in melee range but closing the gap is her biggest weakness, unless her ult is up.

Times like this I sure fkn wish they kept winstreak bonuses and performance adjustments in the game.

It fits well with some music

Her interrupt ability is by far my favorite thing about her. I've been ruining reaper/moira/genji ults a lot with her and it is very satisfying...

I only read the a couple comics every few months, though, so I'm no authority.
