all hard-boiled noir stories are incapable of imagining non-gritty male narration

That's probably why I have never given a shit about Noir then.

    fucking harsh

The only game on that list that I would say is disappointing was Dungeon Siege III. Maybe Armored Warfare, I never played that one.

I don't know how anyone could have been disappointed in Dungeon Siege 3 given how terrible it's predecessors are.

I found Ds3 to be incredibly bland. I remember nothing about it anymore, except a 'city' level that was basically a giant corridor.

There's at least 7 hours of cutscenes before you can walk to the next cutscene.

FWIW, MGS5's cutscene-to-game ratio is actually much better than previous Metal Gear Solid games.

MGSV is like 5% cutscenes but there are massive ones at the start at the end of the game, and then you're more or less left alone for 50+ hours

There's so few cutscenes in the game that almost literally every second of every cutscene is shown across the game's trailers, up to and including part of the final reveal

I agree, but I'm also of the opinion that you're going downhill from Everest to K2

Everest is the tallest mountain in the Himalaya mountain range, and the tallest mountain on Earth measured from sea level to summit. K2 is the sequel to the 1991 French Canadian horror comedy film Karmina.

    Speaking of MGSV (indecipherable spoiler)

Marty: The future, it's where you're going?
Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

    okay, so loot box opinions

I think the fact that AAA game companies hiring gambling experts sorta closes the argument on whether or not loot boxes count as gambling

and I really fucking hope the law gets changed to include loot boxes as gambling

it's going to get really difficult to define the type of gambling, especially when they start turning these things into "oh you only pay money to win tokens, and then you exchange the tokens for hats" bits of legal fuckery
