Io seems like the planet where I almost always get stuck doing PE's alone, even on flashpoint weeks.
I wait until the events have started before I fast travel to them. That seems to give me much better luck in getting other people to do them with. If I go to the event early, I often end up by myself.

Wondering though no one ever considered magic the gathering Booster packs gambling.

A french report addressed this earlier this morning, and apparently there's some confusion on the reports from Belgium.

Currently their gambling commission is filing papers to seek a non-binding legal opinion on whether or not loot boxes are gambling. Nothing has actually happened yet though.

Meanwhile their justice minister has stated publicly (via twitter and a news article) that he opposes loot boxes as they push young people towards gambling and wants them banned across Europe.

It's not though. For example, Iron Banner had random end game drops as well as the rankups. They also sold gear through the vendor. They also had guaranteed drops at specific ranks. I also can't even see what my rank is without a third party app. It's not just that tokens replaced rep, they replaced just about all rewards. It feels a lot less exciting to spend an hour do X just for a pocket full of Chuck E Cheese tokens that'll probably still give me nothing exciting.

Well, it doesn't matter what rank you are unless it's Faction Rally because rank is meaningless. There's no benefits to it.

I think the token system on it's own isn't the problem imo, the problem is the lack of ability to directly buy items on top of it. If you had both I think it would be fine.

some sort of weighted RNG so that you don't get the same item 10 times in a row off 10 turn-ins you spent hours accruing the tokens for would be nice as well

I think this is the part that frustrates me.

Destiny 1 had this... you weren't guaranteed unique drops each time, but the rng was at least weighted to give you new stuff instead of dupes.

I hope they reimplement this sooner rather than later.

Probably because trading cards are tangibles that you can trade with other people once you own them.

Digital games with lootboxes tend not to allow trading.

Upshot is that legal rumblings should make shareholders nervous and discourage publishers from pushing lootboxes on everything.

A hunter can chain invis and solo the altars and the hacking, saving you a lot of time (bottom tree is slightly better than top tree for this, due to the lower CD on melee vs class ability).

On the boss, best strategy is probably to DPS like normal until he goes mid. Then DPS until the first wave of adds. Then everyone focus on clearing out the adds. Then blow heavy and supers to burst the boss the rest of the way. Ignoring adds is the worst method as it likely will leave you chain respawning and dying at like 10% boss HP and wasting a ton of time.

General nightfall stuff is mostly...don't die, chain supers as much as possible, be liberal with your heavy use (I prefer cluster rockets for the room clearing potential) until the last 1/3rd of the strike or so where you should save it up for the boss.

Woop, finished the prestige nightfall for the first time this week.

Last week we kept coming up 1-2 minutes short, but this one felt way easier. Me being sunbreaker with the lower cooldown chestplate sure helped though, 1 second cooldown fire wall grenades are preeeeetty good.

In Destiny 1, once they sorted out the awful drop rates, the game showered you with gear, in addition to the rewards you got for hitting Ranks 3 and 5. If you were somehow unlucky to not get everything on offer, you could buy the gear from the Vendor (typically with decent perks).

You don't get that with Destiny 2's system; it is a complete lottery with regards to what you get and I don't think I'm alone in saying that this is a completely unsatisfying reward system. It is not a positive experience to get your 5th pair of boots in 15 rank ups, when all you need is the glove to complete the set.

I've done a significant amount of Trials; I've gotten the shotgun / sniper rifle / pulse rifle enough times I've lost count. I've never seen the autorifle drop; I'm completely at the whims of RNG in trying to get it. I've had similar experiences with repeat Exotics (I've gotten Merciless 7+ times, yet there's still some weapons I've not seen), and the raid (the first run, I only got tokens and the Warlock armband; when handing in the guild engram, I got the Warlock armband again).

Maybe if the loot system had a way for me to build my own by breaking parts of replica weapons, I might stomach things better, but this current loot / token system is awful. World of Warcraft got this kind of thing sorted out in The Burning Crusade (2007). WoW also had a matchmaking system that was partially based on skill level and it's own servers, etc....

Plus you know, it was a lot more fun to get in a group of 5 others and have a relatively relaxing PvP experience (outside of the connection shennanigans) compared to 4 vs 4 where if you don't pull your weight, you get to feel crap about letting your 3 team mates down.
The game gave you tons of gear because due to the rolls system most of it was garbage. The vendors had the same chance as anything else to be bad, too.

I will never understand how I am dead in what feels like three hits at range from a Uriel's and I do maaaaaaaybe one fifth of damage on their SHIELD all without missing shots and usually shooting before they are.

    Oh wait.

    Iron Banner connections. Forgot.

Also, 36 packages opened. Still no arms. But at least I got my fourth Time Worn Spire 12 Legendary Shards this IB!

I'm buying the DLC, but I've finally reached the point where I'm actively mad at this game more than I'm enjoying it.

A thriving second hand market probably has something to do with this. Also part of the reason why no one seems to care that Dota 2 has been doing this for five years. There is a second hand market where people can obtain the items at market value if they so choose. If that does indeed prove to be part of the legal precedent set over the next few years about this stuff, I would expect to see a lot of games adopt this approach over just removing skinner boxes entirely. Let there be a second hand market and tax that market.

They will kill net neutrality, that's a fact. That said, none of the major ISP's will do any thing egregious for a few years. Quickest way to make congress act is to have your title II stripped, and then immediately start dishing out tiered internet subscriptions. They'll also likely see how the 2020 election goes before they really go nuts, because if they roll out a bunch of tiered crap and then there is a heavy political swing in 2020 (which seems increasingly likely) they'd be in a bad spot. I would say 2021 is when you'll start seeing the dystopian future come about if nothing politically has changed.

    It's for a few reasons:

    1) each pack is guaranteed to have 3 uncommons and a rare.
    2) there is a healthy secondary market where you can buy specific cards, mostly at reasonable prices

A little, explosive rounds do both precision damage and regular damage on precision hit.

It isn't 100% known which order the damages are applied, especially in a PVP environment. But it seems like the regular damage can occasionally be the one that counts for the kill.

Precision kills are a commonplace if you are using regular bullets
