Also, just how mad will randos be that I don't know what to do in these large number of different goal oriented missions that I need to unlock junctions?

If you are shooting things and the mooks are dying in droves, it's probably all good. At least on console, I am generally too busy flying through the air and killing millions of hapless clones to even remember I have teammates.

I remember it didn't seem to complete for me either. I just kept playing and eventually going back to my ship triggered some Lotus talk and gave me the Gara blueprint.

Any rando who isn't an idiot will see your mastery rank and be cool. Folks like dporowski will just fly through the level, do all the objectives, and be waiting for you at the exit, but that's to be expected in a game with a tricky movement system, occasionally misleading nav markers, and a huge chasm between high end gear and starter gear.

If you find yourself in those situations just do your best to not die and stay close to the objective so you're easy to revive if the baddies get you. And don't work too hard to keep up in the missions with a lot of running. As fast players run by, enemies will create shock waves and toxic clouds trying to get them. If your parkour isn't great yet, hang back and let that garbage clear out before running by.

If you have to get through, rolling significantly reduces damage you take and prevents knockdown during the roll. Also bullet jumping and jump kicking knock down enemies, which can be useful if they're clogging up a doorway or corridor.

TBF, I'M probably creating shockwaves and toxic clouds as I go by...

    Seriously though, advice:

If it's a mission with a goal, just run after it real fast. Like seriously, you get dodge bonuses/incoming fire accuracy penalties for moving fast. Gotta go fast! It's where we're headed, so just like, run past dudes. They're infinite anyway, not like you can clear a level. Just try to stick with someone making explosions, there's no such thing as friendly fire (there IS self-damage sometimes though...) so don't worry about like, hitting someone with a whatever. If you go down, just do it someplace convenient, you'll get scooped up, and we carry on. (If you go down in the middle of nowhere away from everyone, even if we wanna, we probably can't beat the timer. You get credit anyway if we extract, so don't drop ever!)

If it's an endless mission (survival, defense, interception), fight on the pod, stay with the group, stick with someone. It's the single most important thing you can do, there is no reason to go haring off in general unless you know exactly why you are doing so, and even then still "meh".

Bullet jump, slide, and slide->jump are basically your best friends, and you can chain them to go absurdly fast. ADS while in midair puts you in a slow motion bullet time thing, which is not SO great for shooting, but holy shit does it let you cover distance. Bullet jump at 45 degrees -> aim glide = Hey I'm waaaaaaay over here now. If you hold crouch/roll to land in a slide, you can then jump out of that slide, and so on and so on.

And for the love of god, the second you hit MR2 let someone give you the following at the very least:

    - Serration
    - Hornet Strike
    - Point Blank

and maybe some of the elemental damage mods. This list is all uncommon. We have ungodly piles and they serve no use other than being melted into endo. They are the single biggest difference between "this sucks" and "I am become death, destroyer of worlds".

    You will probably have:

    - Pressure Point
    - Fury
    - Reach

    for your melee, and

    - Redirection
    - Vitality

for your frame already, but if not, them too! You'll want some rare mods too, but they're less critical than "actually having HP and shields" or "my gun no longer shoots marshmallows". And they're oddly less obnoxious to get your hands on.

Serration hornet strike point blank and pressure point go on ever gun and Melee.

The warframe community at least on occasion is one of the nicest and I only ran into jerks twice. One time it was knocking my color choice and once my getting to extraction too fast. So don't worry about taking too long or not knowing the mission.

On the spy missions, if you don't feel confident doing the vault do say something in chat and let someone else do it.

People, at all MRs will fuck up a spy vault every now and then. Don't fret if you do so, but I do recommend trying them out solo first to get a feel. Every other mission type may dive right in, but maybe test the waters on spy.

I still fuck them up a lot due to small mistakes and sometimes carelessness, and I'm MR24 with over 2000 hours into the game. I also sometimes recognize a spy tile and can just say fuck it and go through guns blazing, but not many of them are set up to allow that.

I like the corpus vaults, because it lets me fail to get ivara and fail to get excalibur at the same time.
Also the tile puzzle is actually fun.

Grineer hacking is solved with cipher because screw that. I let other people do all the hacking in nightmare LOR.
I don't like those drones, I never remember if I'm supposed to shoot them or not or if they can see invisible or not. There is really no reason to ever do those vaults for me though.

The little things on the ground that electrocute you and drain your energy are the absolute worst for my Ivara on spy missions. And then I destroy them, they explode, hitting a random enemy, who triggers an alarm....

Unless they changed it, if your shot can outright kill a drone in one hit, then you should be able to kill them.

Yeah, but it needs to be one hit.

By the way, later weapons and frames get more mod slots, right?

    Nope!

Your frames likely have their Exilus Slot locked at the moment, and you might not have any Aura for your Aura Slot, but otherwise what you see is more-or-less what you get. Mod Capacity is increased via Orokin Reactors/Catalysts and Slot-Polarization, but you never get to add more slots — so choose wisely.

To find cephalon fragments you need (well you don't need) the mods that give you loot radar. It also helps finding supply caches and such. It helps a ton. The companion based one is my favorite but there is also a warframe based one. Names escape me.

No, everything caps out at the same mod capacity as well, but you get things like Reactors and Catalysts, which doubles the capacity, and Forma, which at the cost of reverting the weapon or frame back to 0, changes the polarity of a slot so Mods of the same polarity cost half as much in that slot.

You can absolutely add forma to the point you can fit any 8-10 mods you have on a weapon or frame, but the starting polarities are NOT indicative of the weapon or frame's quality. Amprex for example becomes a monster with the right mods, but starts with 0 polarities, meaning you have to invest forma before you even begin to see what it could possible be at it's zenith.

So is acquiring different mods basically just all chance and grinding out missions to hopefully get them? I haven't found that there's anything like mod blueprints that I can find (mostly in relation to trying to get some of the 'necessary' mods along with the Vacuum mod for a Taxon.

There are places where certain mods spawn, so you can try to farm them there, but it's all RNG. I just hit MR 4 and barely got my first undamaged Serration mod.

All warframes take 3 days to build except for equinox which takes 3 months. This is so you accidentally click rush while you are mildly distracted.
The foundry UI is so much better on the iphone app than in game. Its absurd. Its faster and doesn't swap things around when you start building them.

With regard to Mastery Rank, since I got some decent gear via the Twitch Prime thing. Am I better off ranking the Frost Prime, Soma Prime, and Scindo Prime to 30 off the bat and then crafting other weapons to rank up, or should I craft some lower tier stuff to get easier low level ranks on a variety of things? As I understand it, I only get progress towards Mastery Rank by actual rank ups on frames/weapons/etc so the slower progression of weapon rank 20-30 would slow down my overall Mastery Rank progression? Or am I way overthinking this?

I'd say you're overthinking it. Once you get to some of the final planets and unlock Sorties, you'll find that you can use high-level endless missions to level your stuff pretty damn fast.

You only get mastery rank xp when you level a weapon or frame to level 30 the first time. If you sell the weapon/frame, then later rebuild it, you won't get the mastery xp a second time when you level it.

There are a couple other things you get mastery rank xp for, such as completing nodes and junctions for the first time on the star chart. Maybe some other stuff too? It's been awhile since I looked at the wiki article for it

They are for any weapon with more than 75% of its base damage as impact, but you can also get them from bullying the Teralyst on cetus, so spending ducats on them is rather silly.

Given the way impact works, there aren't any big useful meta builds that use those mods. No need to worry about them.
