Given the way impact works, there aren't any big useful meta builds that use those mods. No need to worry about them.
The upcoming changes to Damage 2.0 (becoming 2.5?) may change this. The 120% mods for impact and puncture could become viable with the effect scaling that DE has talked about.
And I did that job. I got the research started when I saw it mentioned in the briefing on the event in navigation. It'll be ready around six EST tomorrow.
Does the PC clan have an alliance set up? I have a small ten man clan for me and some friends who are mostly Australian, but it'd be good to see when you guys are on to group together.
No idea how to set that up though.

there is an alliance, i'm in a similar situation. someone in this thread should be able to invite you to the alliance or something if you're the clan leader
I noticed looking at some of the focus trees that there are passives and then way-bound passives. Is this their way of getting people to put points in a focus that they don't think is the besto?

Yeah basically. Once you max out a way-bound passive node you're able to "un-bind" it, which lets you equip that node with any other focus tree. Of course that costs a couple million focus points for each node cause this is Warframe.
Have they ever said why focus costs are out of control? Is it like gems and it was a mistake. It Simone got the points so now they have to keep it?
I think it's mostly an end game kindof thing. They maybe expect folks to get a few nodes, to make the operator functional, but not like the passives were before the change. An end game type thing, like the plains, that they let everyone have access to just because, but they don't expect folks without significant resources to do much with at first.
That said, you can max out your daily focus, the cap for which was increased significantly with the change, in about a half hour or so if you have the right gear and strat.

DE's also come out and said that they're re-evaluating the costs of nodes, with an eye to probably lower some of the required investment in focus.
So what is good from the plague star event? I just looked over the rewards and they seem pretty meh.
Hunter munitions turns a lot if guns into a slash beast. I plan to try and get it.
The rest are blah.
If you're into Zaws, the Exodia Epidemic arcane is pretty neat, as it acts like a line/wave Rhino Stomp with a 4 second duration when maxed out. Note that the build materials for a set of 10 are pretty stiff; I spent a goodly amount of time in the event just getting Heart Nyth from Nakak, and then Wisp farming after, to build them all.
Also on Zaws, the Zaw parts are worth picking up, if you're into those. I built this Rapier, and it totally works as advertised.

The Exodia Epidemic wave also procs covert lethality on stunned targets, so that's fucking amazing and a must-get.
Not anymore, unfortunately. Contagion will still kill the vast majority of enemies in one hit with a stealth modifier though.
I had one of those moments where I was like "I bet DE didn't think of this!" and tested to see if Zephyr could fly around indefinitely bombarding enemies with Contagion, but unfortunately they did think of it. Only one Contagion projectile per bullet-jump/double-jump.

The Hunter set from the hemocyst is pretty nice. On top of Hunter Munitions, there's a Kubrow/Kavat mod that makes damage that they do heal you, and the bonus with all the mods turns them into actual monsters.
Also, I wouldn't discount the zaw parts out of hand, or at least the heads, as they can make some pretty crazy status weapons, especially if you're lucky enough to have Condition Overload. Note that the very nice melee Arcanes, both from the event and from Hok can only be used on Zaws.
Finally, if you are going to be building High-end Amps or any arcanes, you want to buy as many of those gems as you can; they are a bitch to farm normally.

I think this is what you were saying anyway, but just to clarify, you can get two contagions off before you have to touch the ground to reset it. Bullet jump -> contagion -> double jump -> contagion. Also note that you can aim/float before each one if you need an extra second to aim.
Had a pretty good night. Picked up despair earlier this week and maxed it along with a few other pieces, got to rank 19. Still a ton of relatively easy gear for me to grab so I guess 20 is a possibility. That rank 19 test was rough though. Took me several failures in practice mode before I felt ready for the real thing.
I haven't been paying very good attention. What do we console peasants NEED to make sure we get done for fancy stuff with the plague asteroid thingy.
1) buy and make some Infested Catalyst (equip these as gear too! the bp is in dojo)
2) do the infestation bounty on the plains
3) during mixing stage, use a catalyst. (there's an Eidolon Phylaxis bp you can also get/use during this stage but you need to get rep on the vendor first. Nakak is selling these). Watch your cell pump it up to max difficulty.
4) enjoy fighting a lephantis stage 2 variant 4 times and bask in the hilarity of your possibly undergeared cell fighting the level 48 lephantis forever.
PS: DO NOT STAND ON METEOR/PLAGUE BOILS... or go anywhere near them because they will kill you quickly with toxin damage.

Just unlocked Mars last night. What's a good number of loops for an endless mission? I wouldn't mind some company beyond pubs but the times that I can hop on my two month old can decide to wake up and cry at any point, so needing to bail mid mission is not great.

Most of the time people will stick around for two loops, but it depends on the mission. The reward tables for endless missions go AABCAABC etc., so if a mission has a really popular reward in its C reward table, people will want to stay for four loops, like with Infested Salvage and its Nidus blueprints. If it's a Dark Sector mission, people will usually stay for only one loop and cash out for the credits bonus.

Get a power strength/duration build ember (range doesn't help) and jump up to cast her #3, Fireblast, at head height for lephantis. They stack, and will kill even the level 48 lephantis with a quickness, if you keep stacking them on it if it moves.

So you can get the slide 500m achievement by sliding 500m+ away from cetus when the countdown to extraction hits 0 and you are warped to the door.
Yeah, I tried the ember thing yesterday with just my normal ember build. I was shocked how easy it was.
Also, Elytron's Warheads will one-shot every single one of the smaller infested in a huge radius. If you've got another ember already covering the heads, taking to the air and providing CAS will speed things up even more.

Can you trade archwing weapon parts?
"I will write your name in the ruin of them. I will paint you across history in the color of their blood."
I'm pretty sure you can. Think I did it before. Otherwise how would you get the arch-guns that require parts from syndicates you're not affiliated with?

It looks like it was started. CB HAD *ONE* JOB! smh... ONE JOB...
also... I'm conflicted. I need to farm 720 ducats for goofy baro ears for my operator and prisma evil wings...
I finally got maim though (max rank for 30p), so yay.
