There's a lot of talk about how far people are traveling, and where they're coming from... and all I can say to those people is: "You rock!" People are droppin some serious dough on travel expenses and some long hours to get to PAX and that is very cool that you're all devoted enough to do that. Also... the journey in itself, wether roadtrip with strangers or flight with friends is an adventure within itself.
But this thread isn't about that. This thread is about those of us lucky enough to live/work rediculously close to PAX.
Route from home: 9.3 miles.
I know someone must live closer than that!
However... I work at 5th & Pike (in the tower above Kenneth Cole store), door to door is about 1.5 blocks to the convention center. So on Friday... I'm just ditchin work early and walkin there... can anyone beat that distance?
Blast i have been beatenby a couple blocks. i live in lynnwood but i work at 4th and virginia or about there (the brown buildings with the tops cut off) i will have to walk for a full 10 minuts to get to pax on friday. which is cool cause thats how long it takes to have a smoke.
Well, while I was planning on taking Friday off, I may have to work that day (and the weekend!!!!) - stupid work not taking PAX into account with their planning. If so, my trip gets a lot longer - I work off in Kirkland, so that <5 minute walk becomes a 20-40 minute drive.

the hell with that tell them your going to be sick
Awww come on. They moved to Seattle this year so I lose, but if we can play with last year's location, I think I'm in the running: beat this, suckers.
If you are going by MBC We have an enforcer that lives (not sure if he does anymore though) near the corner of 10th and 112th, less than 2 bellevue blocks away from the MBC, I hated him for it. :P
Actually, I think a new enforcer (neville) is about two blocks away, too, if not closer. I can just about hit WSCTC with a rock from his balcony, if he were facing in that direction.

Yeah, you can drop the rock and it practically falls into WSCTC from my balcony.

It's about 15 minutes once you are on a bus. Much quicker by car.
I'm sure someone who lives on cap hill will have us both beat.
I hate him for it too.

Same here, Kentridge HS is the closest landmark....
In my mind, I didn't have to travel anywhere
Because I'm already home.
Did you see what I did there? Philosophised my victory here.
My Route
Although I have only been here for a short time PAX '06 is the main reason I am living out here now! Drove here from the midwest last August.
