Looks like Dauntless is also coming to Switch next year? I think I missed that in the trailer, but that could be a win for them without MHW to compete with there.
Maybe, yeah. Though MHGU is already out and it's still more polished than Dauntless was when I tried it. I don't think any hunting game has ever quite caught up in terms of how the fights feel to me (granted, I hear MH was rougher pre-Tri, and they keep bringing back the less fun fights because of die hard fans and their nostalgia. Gigginox should never have been cut for fucking Khezu, likewise the Jaggis being shafted in favor of the -preys). Dauntless isn't bad, but I feel it has a lot of cheap shots in fights where there are poor tells or it's unclear to how to handle something. MHW actually does have some issues there with some of the post-release fights (AT Vaal Hazak is a good example of bullshit). It does manage to steer clear of feeling like a straight up brawl (eat hits, heal, hit back, repeat), but...
Isn’t P5 built to take full advantage of the stronger systems like the PS4? I wonder if it would work properly on the Switch.
The only difference between PS4 and PS3 P5 is the resolution

Yeah I see no reason they couldn't do it. I wanna say I even heard it's semi easy to port from PS3 to Switch due to similar architecture? But maybe I'm misremembering.
This might be the first year I haven't played any of the games in the GotY category.
Just from an outside observer of how much positive (and completely uncontroversial, and lacking money grubbing) press the games got, GoW definitely seems like the one on that list that was just pure unfiltered gaming.
And it's got Christopher Judge, and anything with Teal'c is probably the best thing.

Red Dead 2 is a very solid experience. But it feels like a natural extension of what they pulled off with GTA5. GoW however, they depthcharged my expectations. Coming off the previous games of the series, it felt new. I didn't know a game series could do that this day in age (and not be a Nintendo title.) So this feels good.

Both are pretty much amazing games that I think will remain high points of this generation.
A nice bonus that it was also a very, very good game.
One of these days maybe I will bother to try out God of War :P
