I definitely read A Wrinkle in Time and A Swiftly Tilting Planet but I cannot remember a single thing about either of them other than their oddly memorable titles.

That's kind of surprising to me, they both have some fairly memorable visuals in my head.

I had a good time with Justice League, but I think it might be a sign of the quality of the franchise that I didn't leave wanting a sequel, or a solo movie from any of the heroes.
I want a movie about the Amazons. I don't even necessarily care if Diana is there. They are the one thing in this entire universe that I can point at and say that I want to see more of.
I don't see how you could hate justice league, it's largely inoffensive and a bit incoherent but it's far from a disaster.
like yeah it's a bad movie in that it's not great or outstanding in any way, but it's not miserable and brooding and self serious and dull (well you could find it boring, but its not like BvS bone dry creaking cracking drudgery, I was squirming in my seat and dozing off in that one).
It's just like a cartoon justice league kind of simple story. It's a bad movie overall, but definitely a good course correction.
It kind of felt like your usual average cg fest, like a kind of ordinary and unremarkable film, but not a mess.
It's nowhere near as bad as that review makes out.
I'm not trying to sing it's praises I just feel like the film just is an ok to average action blockbuster, nothing to get enraged at or feel angry with. Largely that sentiment comes from the baggage and mess it's doing its best to clean up and sweep under the rug from the last superman films
The one scene everyone claimed was the team ogling Wonder Woman doesn't exist, the closest I could tell was a scene where one character calls her gorgeous and it works because
its aquaman, it's out of character, and he makes an ass of himself, because he's sitting on the lasso of truth
Also while I'm not going to deny a few of the Amazonian costumes have midriffs, a lot more of them are fully armoured, and there's a pretty badass scene where two completely buff women are shown doing an absolute badass feat of strength, it focuses on their biceps and felt like "look at these badass women" rather than anything male gazey
I dunno after expecting the worst maybe I saw the best in it, but I think a lot of it is overblown
I think if you like the idea of the justice league and you enjoy these characters you will do ok with this film. It fixes superman and does mostly good things with the characters. Yes its largely unearned, it just basically ignores the last two superman films in terms of tone. but it's a welcome change all the same. I feel like if they had come out with this film out of the gate it would've been received a little better than it is now

Saw JL just now. I enjoyed it quite a bit, although there were definitely problems (some poorly composited green-screen backgrounds, dull villains, insufficient development for Aquaman and to a lesser extent Cyborg).
Also, ending spoilers:
Having the Mother Boxes' destruction turn into colorful flowers after Steppenwolf's defeat as a symbol for the DCEU taking on a more hopeful tone going forth was a little on the nose.
Is steppenwolf a notable villain in DC?
I can't say I've ever heard his name before, which feels like a weird decision for the first every justice league film.

I've only ever head of the band Steppenwolf and the book from the 20's where the band name came from.

Pleased with choice.

Multiple times in that movie I went “aww man I’m bummed the story is going in this direction, I’d love it if [thing] happened instead”
and then that exact thing I was hoping for would happen
Weirdly similar to Spider-Man Homecoming in that way
Serious doubts about JL making $100mil domestic opening weekend

It has been literally decades since I read them.
