What seemed to be the resolution was that I'd updated my video card drivers one evening, and everything seemed to be fine at the time. The next day, when I turned on my computer and the TV that I use as a secondary monitor, the latter wasn't being recognized. I tried everything I could think of; swapping the cords around indicated that one could work at a time, but not both. The cords seemed fine, the screens both seemed fine, though only one HDMI output seemed to work of the two found on my paired video cards.
So I was a bit concerned I had a video card die (or dying) on me.
Further digging and poking around eventually led me to discover that the update had changed a video card setting. I'm at work so I don't recall exactly what it was offhand, but changing it back fixed everything, suddenly the second monitor was discovered with ease and I had full functionality available.
But it wasn't quite how I'd wanted to spend my Friday evening.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
