Loot boxes distribute a random assortment of money, items, etc.
Killing a mob in Diablo does the same thing.
These companies took a very basic thing that takes a single mouse click and turned it into something they charged money for. It's good that they're finally getting backlash over it.
Okay, I thought you had issue with how the mechanic worked in Diablo when it was a pure game mechanic. Carry on.

Ah thanks for clearing it up. Your original wording made it sound like they were charging money for Diablo loot drops as they happened.
SAO Fatal Bullet might be an OK game. I dunno, because two hours in, I haven't been allowed to leave the hub town and it's been all tutorialtutorialtutorialtutorialtutorialtutorialtutorialtutorial
Jesus Christ... spend some extra cash to hire a person to play the first few hours of the game for you so you don't end up stabbing yourself in the eyes with a screwdriver. Hot protip from ya boi, Skullnumbers :^:
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
Ok, so when you actually get to dig into the meat of the game in Fatal Bullet, it's alright. The camera and aiming aren't great, but there's an assist mode that's essentially auto-aim. You still have to manually aim to hit weakspots consistantly for crits though. You also need a high tolerance for Japanese folks yelling shit if you're interested in this game. Your party members never stop yelling out in the field... ever.

So, I finally dug in to Grand Kingdom last week and after about a dozen hours of playing I've come to realize that I have no idea what I'm doing. Is there like a primer on how things work? What I should be aiming for? I mean I've never upgraded gear or really put any thought into what skills I'm leveling up, or how wars work, or anything. I can get through most of the quests pretty easily, but I have this sneaking feeling that there's actual gameplay progression in there somewhere - I just don't know where to look.
New sale looks very nice. Stroking my chin over Titanfall 2 for under 10$, and might go for Nex Machina and maybe Nidgogg 2. Im slowly getting over the graphical goofiness.

Im with you there... Ive been sending my dudes off to war at night, just to grab more cash to send off more dudes to war. Theres probably a real game in here somewhere.

I never got far in Grand Kingdom because of all that. It also has a lot of reliance on the online portion which may or may not have any players anymore.
I really enjoyed the TF2 single player but I couldn't get into the multiplayer. With no skill based matchmaking I would get wrecked so often and so quickly that it just wasn't any fun. I stuck it out for a few weeks but didn't feel like I made enough of an improvement to warrant sticking with it. I switched over to BF1 and 100+ hours later (75% of it as a medic) it became one of my favorite multiplayer games ever.
Old games that have been so cheap that if you want them you very likely have them. PS Plus is trash.
But actually I'm really happy that people who don't have those games will get to play them because they are two of the best games on the system. It's an especially awesome month since there's a fantastic game for both the kiddos and the grownos.
Titanfall 2's campaign is one of the better single player experiences for an fps in absolute years. It's over quickly, but every level has something special going on.
I thought the multiplayer was one of the best things I've played....for a really long time. I thought Bounty was the better (best?) mode, once they sorted out how much of your titan meter you got back when you got a kill with nuclear ejection (i.e. none). You had a better idea of where the enemy was coming from and you didn't need top skills to do well (it wasn't uncommon to see people with only 1-2 kills coming out top of the scoreboard).
I thought some of the skills, like Stealth, Sonar and Phase Shift helped enormously if you didn't have great reaction times.

I suspect there will be some PS4 Crossbuy games that apply to Vita, but there really aren’t a whole lot of games left to come to the Vita.
The Vita is dying an undignified death, unfortunately. The Switch showed that with support a handheld system can flourish even in the States but Sony gonna Sony.

To be fair, Switch managed to be perceived as a new, attractive type of device that escaped the death spiral of the traditional handheld market, and I really don't think Vita ever would have been a true hit given everything working against it.
But Sony's relative lack of Vita support certainly didn't help.

Good month for PS+. I own both games, but I'll trade those discs in before the value tanks.
I've actually been looking forward to them ditching PS3 and Vita for PS+ games. I felt that splitting their resources was always a factor in the frequently lackluster lineups. Hopefully these two announcements mean we will have more good offerings on PS4 moving forward.

I've been on the fence about Bloodborne forever but this will finally get to me to play it
I love the Souls series to death but the part where parrying is basically a forced thing in BB has always put me off from buying it
It's not forced at all. I can manage to parry ONE kind of enemy in BB, the ogres and I only do that when I need to farm vials which is very very rarely. Never managed it outside of that and I beat the game just fine.

Also all three Zero Escape games for $35 is tempting too.

I ended up buying nothing, and instead am re-installing Dying Light so I can bonk zombies on the head with stuff.
I suspect I will pick up those Zero Escape games before the week's end, though. I only ever beat 9/9/9

^ This - if you don't have it already the $10 is an easy sell if only for the very fun campaign. The multiplayer is also quite good.
Will check out the sale when I get home.

Maybe I'll finally have a PS4 by then. It's not like I really play the PS3/Vita games I have from the service all that much.
