Is The second tomb raider never going to go on sale again? They keep putting the new one on sale and I get excited to finally grab rise and it's always still a $60 game
You could score a brand new physical copy for $20, easy.
I used Gamefly to get it. Might be an option... $16 a month (first month is free I think, too) and you can get the game since it has a high availability.
Is there any reason to buy the Diablo 3: Eternal Collection off the PS4 store for $79 (CDN), when I can just buy the Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls edition and the Necromancer DLC combined for $55? Like, why the fuck is the Eternal Collection $25 more for literally nothing else extra?

Because Activision/Blizzard. Overwatch on console also costs $20 extra for no real reason. There's a couple skins in there, but that certainly isn't worth $20.
To answer your question, I don't think there's any reason to buy the eternal collection over the game + Necromancer. I'm like 95% there's nothing extra there. Maybe a pet or something?
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

I'm looking at the store, and the only Diablo 3: RoS I'm seeing is the PS3 version. And the only PS4 version is the Eternal collection. So at some point they probably just turfed the PS4 version of RoS to just have the Eternal Collection, with the "redundant" DLC still there for anybody who did buy RoS previously.

What's this copying bullshit game updates do now? It used to just download the update file for the game, but now it downloads twice or something. Thought I could update CoD and get a few games in but it's taking forever to update...

Oh, well, nuts to that. Maybe I'll re-buy Diablo 3 if it goes on sale or something. But it'd need to be like, less than $30, so that's not happening for a while.

PS4 Pubgs released today. I preordered the base $30 version. It runs pretty smooth on my PS4 Pro, a huge improvement over playing it on my laptop. I'm glad they did early access on Xbox to deal with all the performance issues since this release seems pretty solid.

Interesting.
I played PUBG a few weeks ago on XBone when it was free to try, and it was loaded with performance/technical issues for me. Like, if that's what it runs like after all the time they've had to work on it... yeesh... I was expecting the PS4 version to be a similar shit-show.

Note that I'm playing on a PS4 Pro, 1080p screen, supersampling disabled. So YMMV with a base PS4. Digital Foundry will prob do a video soon.
Also, coming back to Pubgs from COD Blackout and h1z1 is pretty painful. There have been huge quality of life improvements made to the genre, and Pubgs really lags far behind. I still need to open inventory to equip attachments? It feels kind of ancient. Still fun though!
Would love some thoughts. Doing a long trip covering multiple continents and I am not excited about anything for my DS so I am thinking about buying a Vita (probably Ebay or gamestop) and just using all those PS Plus games I have. Is that crazy? Am I missing an obvious place to buy one in that $100 range?
Also, like the rec for Lego Villians. Did it have many parts where the camera was a mess? The camera was a mess in some of those games and my son just couldn't play it.

The Vita is going to require a bit of an investment to get rolling. Sony used a really crazy expensive form of memory card and it does not have much internal memory at all. They have also quit making them outside if Japan I think. It is a great system, but Sony abandoned it the second it did not start doing DS levels of sales.

There's a couple boss fights where the camera kinda pulls in for a sort of third person view. It can be a little wonky, and hard to track the boss when it's doing some whirlwind attack or whatever, but it's not awful. Outside of that I didn't notice any issues.
Also, unrelated to anything, Tekken 7 is really fun until you hit AI rank Divine Ruler. Then the AI is just a big asshole... I feel like I'm five years old again playing fighting games against my older brother.

Holy shit, Iconoclasts is fucking grim. Tone-wise I mean, the game is wonderful and I love it, but damn. It starts off at not ok and just keeps escalating. It's crazy.

I'm finding the game to be utterly bizarre. The gameplay is solid enough, and I'm a sucker mark for 16-bit graphics. The plot and dialogue though is utter gibberish. To quote Lisa Simpsons, "I know those words but that sign makes no sense.". If there is a plot going on I could not for the life of me tell you what it is.

It's what killed the game for me. I was enjoying playing well enough but I was bored out of my mind with PLOT and they kept forcing it at me, so much so that I just started skipping through it which really threw off the flow.
Hey, that just makes it even more like those games from the 16/32-bit era. A time when we were starting to expect our games to tell a proper story, but before decent writers started getting involved.

There are quite a few spots where the localization messed up. If you squint a bit and think hard you can kinda figure out what they were going for, but I can totally understand not wanting to put in that much effort.
Other than Beat Saber, what's actually good on PSVR?
Based only on what I've heard (I do not have PSVR): The Tetris Effect, Astrobot, Moss
As someone who has a PSVR and has played all of these, they’re all correct. I also recommend Statik, GNOG, Super HyperCube, Rez Infinite, I Expect You To Die, Batman Arkham VR, SUPERHOT VR, and Job Simulator. Also Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes if you have people to play that with. There are dozens more that I’m sure I’m forgetting (or haven’t played yet), but those are some of the best.
Some of those are on sale, but there are literally 1200 items on sale, so it’s hard to go through them all on my phone.
Did they ever get wishlist functionality working on the store when viewed from an actual PS4? I just have a bunch of games in my wishlist and every time there's a sale I load up the phone app to see which ones are priced down.
+1

Also! Astro Bot and Tetris Effect are $20 each at GameStop right now!

Even if it wasn't, I'd say it's probably worth waiting til the PSN winter sale, cause that's a couple weeks away at most.

Is that made by the same people who made Monument Valley?
Oh, the art style reminded me of Monument Valley so much I thought it might have been from the same team.

This World War Z game looks like a pretty sweet horde mode thing.

Bloodborne $8
God of War III Remastered $5
Mortal Kombat XL $5
GTA V $15
I probably don’t need GTA...I’ve got in on 360.
Bloodborne...I don’t need that punishment.
Interesting that a lot of the games from Black Friday aren’t on sale. Maybe they’ll get added later.
