The other day when I was Iron Bannering, I managed to nova bomb 3 of 4, and was sad, because 4 killed me - he was right there. Then he walked into the nova bomb and died, and an entire fireteam was gone, just like that.
Dammit I need to get this game. Christmas isn't soon enough.
So at first I was like, "So Bungie had to partner with Amazon just to get a stripped-down DIM?"
Then I was all, "Okay, I admit, that's sort of amusing but if I buy a 'talk to my house' device I'm pretty sure it's going to be the Google one."
And now I'm all, "I can get an echo that's a physical Ghost model?! god dammit I already own two chromecasts I don't want fire sticks"
So, uh, how to Raid lockouts and keys and such work in this game?
Is it once per account per week or once per character per week?
Like, I run a bit of Leviathan on my hunter and I get keys and they go in my shared inventory, so what happens if I run again later that week with my warlock? Do I get 2 keys for the same chest?

Once per character per week
You can get multiple keys for the same chest, but you have to enter a new Leviathan for each key to be used

also yeah your keys don’t go away after reset anymore and you’ll get two keys if you already have one and get it again
i actually don’t know if you can just reset the room to use the second key or if you have to go to orbit
i went to orbit in between when i had two of the same and that worked at least
Oh my goodness, I'm finally home and finally have a chance to upload and post this...
SO... the other day I had to run my new Xbox Hunter through his requisite Competitive matches to unlock CtA. First one was a win but rather uneventful. The second match though!!!
Two rounds apiece in Survival on The Dead Cliffs, and it's looking fairly even between the teams... round 5 loads up and two of my rando's have either dropped or been kicked. It's just rando calrissian "His Doodness07" and yours truly vs 4 randos on Alpha team. This doesn't bode well (maybe I should have turned on fireteam chat)!
Him and I take a one point lead and then bunker down and just keep dumping covering fire out doorways when anyone comes close. The enemy is running full deathball but can't dig us out to steal their lead back and the clock runs down... we take the win.
Round six! Still Doodness and I vs 4 randos and nobody's JIP'd to our team. The enemy team has spread out a bit to try and either spawn camp us or just harass us to death.... 4v2 it should be a no brainer for them.
What ends up happening?!?!?!?! (spoilered for dramatic effect)
DOODNESS AND I START TAKING SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!!! Guerilla warfare at it's finest... Doodness bunkers down in that broken building at the back and drops anyone who gets too close while I engage in a few minutes of straight run and gun warfare. Round six to us for the win!
A) well done there is no JIP in the competitive playlist which is why leavers are bad people
There should be a special Shaxx line for getting killed with Fighting Lion that is just him being ashamed of you.

Newsk notes that Fighting Lion is so downtuned because one of their testers became amazing at the style that fimi_sheikh has popularised and proceeded to roll over everybody.
People actually look at and care about how many kills they got? I have the ghost, and the emblems that show it, but... Meh? It's just a number. Like, yay I've killed 80 bazillion guys. Go me.

God dammit Greg. This is what led to fusion rifles getting nerfed with every update in D1.
This is not actually a joke. There are several interviews in which they discuss how one of their internal playtesters, Greg, was just ungodly good with fusion rifles. This lead to multiple balance patches where fusions were nerfed, despite them being largely ignored by the PvP community as a whole.
Also, as of the interview with Crucible Radio, Newsk notes that Rat King has the highest 'lift'of any exotic.
He also notes that the number of people using it isn't huge so it might get overtaken.
Newsk and Klawdd also both think Rat King is their most loved gun in the game
"lift"???
It's a term the PvP designers use to refer to the effect a particular weapon appears to have on a player's effectiveness. They're very guarded with their metadata and how they analyze it, but they can tease out weapons that, when equipped, seem to have a greater-than-expected impact on a player's performance. It's a really interesting concept, because in their interviews they talk about how these often don't align with what are considered "meta" weapons.
I think one of the few actual examples that they ever gave was Plan C. It was never really a meta gun that saw widespread use, but for the tiny subset of players that used it well, they saw a significant increase in their overall K/D or K/DA or whatever.
God I miss that gun.

It's usually more of a draw for PVP stats, but I think it would also feel a bit more meaningful on a specific gun, because it would feel more like a reminder of how much you like to keep that gun equipped instead of something like the ghost or the emblems where it feels more impersonal, less like something you're choosing? Dunno if I'm communicating that well.
But like, it would definitely please me to see huge numbers on my Ros Lysis or Nightshade relative to the other guns that I like less, because then I'd be like yup those are my guns that I enjoy.

I am not "good at Destiny" but I would get my wallet out, right now, to have my Nirwen's Mercy back and be able to see my from-D1-launch-day stats with it in excruciating detail. 7-day moving averages, outliers, performance with different perk tree nodes active, all of it.
Pulling the god-roll Nirwen's off the second(?) Irascible Bollocks is probably the single best thing I have done for myself in this hobby over the whole three years. That rifle worked so hard to make me look good that sometimes it even succeeded.

Around 6:44 he goes into the promise Bungie is making to make Destiny 2 more rewarding for players who want to dig in deeper. He talks about how he felt the game was being changed for casual players to sell lots of copies, and how veteran players engage with the game. He also goes into how making things easier to obtain and Masterwork stuff is a bandaid maneuver, to patch up some complaints without really digging into the problems.
Common sentiment is they're fixing things that should have never broke in the first place on the journey from D1 to D2. Says also that Xur changes make it almost too easy to collect Exotics and I kinda agree, I think either 3oC or the weekly engram would have done the job, both might be overkill. The loot flow isn't the issue, it's the loot itself isn't making us feel powerful.
Personally Masterwork guns were exciting until I saw how little they actually do substance-wise. So close but so far.

On Monday, last day of IB, I grabbed some heavy for my Sins of the Past and managed back to back triple kills with the 2 rockets it gave me.
So at first I was like, "So Bungie had to partner with Amazon just to get a stripped-down DIM?"

What is wrong with me?
my mom refers to alexa as dad’s new girlfriend because apparently they just have conversations all day long
so hey there’s that too
I already have an Alexa that I replaced my old broken bedroom alarm clock with. That's all I use it for.
I just ordered the Ghost.
A shocking ability to prioritize that we should all strive for?

What is your Bnet name? I'll msg you if I get enough people to do it tomorrow or over the weekend.
I'll 3d print a shell to put on your echo dot for 50 and ship it free (within reason). You could even paint it a custom shader!
