I dunno, I've hunted chests all over that place and they have plenty of spots to hide them in normally!
I actually cannot find the Region Chest that's hidden somewhere around the entrance to the Infinite Forrest. I thought perhaps it was in the Lost Sector that was there, but your map is gone when you enter, so that can't be it. I haven't found any other underground areas, and I can't climb any higher than a certain point on the right-hand side. I'll google it eventually, but that's a good one.

If facing the entrance, go around the right side. You'll see some narrow ledges you can jump up. Start jumping up and get as high as you can. Then start making your way back toward the entrance, and you'll find the box tucked in on a ledge.
wait, destiny is back up. I checked in, and Cayde is only selling 3 maps. Is that just me?
I didn't see them mention decreasing the number of chests
Do you maybe still have some old ones in your inventory?
Flashpoint is Mercury, so I assume it's only 3 chests because Mercury is hella small and doesn't have enough hidey holes.
Holy crap is that going to be painful to get the Flashpoint done.
I mean, probably not over the whole week but I don't think I'm gonna try and focus it down in one night like I usually do.
They've made it so Flashpoint:Mercury is completed via the public event AND hunting down two kinds of yellow bar minions (Cabal Conquerors and Fancy Fucking Minotaurs).
Also, I don't think they properly explained that these new Eververse doodads (the Gleaming Boons) yield Eververse goods. So, while they are purchased via dust, they've made acquiring Eververse goodies a bit easier.
Man, I've climbed all over that side of the entrance. I'll check again when I get home. I thought I climbed as high as I could, so I probably just missed it somewhere.

I think this is the first I've heard of "Gleaming Boons". What are those/how do you get them?
It's a new permanent item for sale from Tess, next to the Fireteam Medallions. Vanguard Boons are 350 dust and Crucible Boons are 750; you use them before a strike/match, and after completion everyone in the team will get an Eververse item. I think it says that a player can only use one at a time, but that if everyone in the team uses one they will all activate.
Reduced the XP rewards of some public events to bring them more in line with other activities
Reduced Glimmer earned from some public events to better balance them with their counterparts
Reduced the rate of Rare rewards to bring them more in line with other activities
Increased the rate of Legendary rewards from public events for level 20+ characters
Dec 12th Patch Notes
Legendary and Exotic Engram drop rates have been adjusted down for Public Events, and up for Strike and Crucible playlist activities
Sigh... PEs are my favorite "chill" past time.
XP, Glimmer, and Blues are lessened, and Legendary/Exotics were "buffed" only to be nerfed a week later...
Edit: I get it's a tuning thing, but man... bring things "up to par", not drag fun stuff down to sate other activities.

Yeah, its really gonna depend on what their definition of this is.
Flashpoint mercury was 30 minutes or so because I got lucky and the event spawned right as I got there. It was literally do the PE, spend 20 minutes wandering around shooting things, then the event finally respawned so i could finish it. Not exactly engaging, but thats what we get when the planet is small enough to get "soandso is nearby" from anywhere on the planet because they've spawned in.

Am I the only person that's not really excited about Masterworks?
It's more RNG that makes your existing favorite weapons inferior until you get blessed by RNGesus.
How is this a good thing? Because Bungie feels like hardcore players need something to chase?
Have any details about the "break down Masterworks weapons to make items to turn other weapons into Masterworks" mechanic surfaced yet?
Edit: Post on reddit says Cryptarch engrams for 25 legendary shards can drop as Masterworks, and dismantling them gives 1 or 2 cores. It requires 10 cores to make a thinger to convert an existing legendary into a MW.
Just... /facepalm

I mean if the bonus perks are cool and it's pretty straightforward to breakdown a Masterwork you don't want and put it into one you do want, then yeah to me it sounds pretty rad

"Adjusted the difficulty for the normal Calus encounter"
What did they mean by this
The current supposition is that while they raised NM Leviathan to 300 recommended with CoO, that meant that the Calus encounter came in at 310. So this means they probably scaled it back to 300 or 305 so non-DLC players could play it reasonably.
If that's true, then I suspect that the Calus encounter in Prestige (recommended 300 PL) may have come in at 310 PL which made it so that you couldn't previously pull even with it, making it harder than expected. Now that DLC players top that, Prestige Leviathan MAY ACTUALLY be slightly easier.

Nightfall is Savathûn's Song with Anomalies and Momentum. Now I'm kinda glad Faction Rally isn't this week, that's my least favorite strike/modifier combo and I don't relish the idea of running it three times for the ornaments.
My interest in Masterworks depends on the stats that can be randomly added. I am expecting added impact, range, stability, handling, or reload and not explosive or high caliber rounds or the like.
Black lives matter.

It's just stats, not perks. Although people would probably prefer perks as the archetype of a weapon is so dominating that a +10 to a stat will probably be negligible for a lot of weapons.
I got a masterwork Pulse Rifle (Swift ride) the masterwork is +10 handling, but more importantly if I kill two things in a short period or one clip or whatever a multikill is, it drops an orb of light that I can pick up myself for extra super bar. Definitely worth getting a masterwork version.

That's really powerful potentially. So many more supers in PvE.
Do Masterworks only come from engrams, or if I direct purchase can it have a chance to be Masterwork?

Finally finished off the main campaign last night, reached power level 265 (which I understand is an important milestone apparently?), and bought a Prometheus Lens so I can finally dish out a little of what I've been taking in Crucible matches (until it's nerfed at least). All in all a good night!
I know there has been a lot of negativity toward Destiny 2 from the community at large, but as someone who never played the first game and is just about a week into my first Destiny experience... I've gotta say, I'm having a fucking blast. And that's been all solo and some PvP in Crucible, I haven't done any of the co-op stuff like Raids and Strikes and all that yet. I joined up with the PA Clan on PC, so hopefully I'll get a chance to play with you fine humans soon. The only problem is that there's so much to do now after beating the campaign. I don't even know where to start, and all the co-op stuff seems kind of intimidating for someone new.
hmm, start updating destiny on xbox. Realize steam is doing a bunch of updates on my PC so figure I'd pause the destiny update till those finish since my internet speed is kinda shit. When I go to stop the update, destiny 2 disappears from my xbox. Have to go to the store page and it has to reinstall all 42gb. Great, just great.

I did one event and got 40%, so I think it's easy enough.
also, I am on PC destiny and after the update my windowed fullscreen refuses to hide the taskbar, it's pretty great and awesome
Ah, that makes sense
Not necessarily, they made the Flashpoint complete with less Event completions on Titan, so it may only take a two or three on Mercury
