Just moved to Dallas (the colony) from Boise ID for a new job. For those of you who dont know about idaho, there are like 25 people in the whole state, so this is quite thee move for me.
Well im down here and I need some stuff to do, so I was wondering what some locals this is tight shit to go do? Last weekend some coworkers took me to purgatory, which was an alright time, but i had a $100 dollar bar tab, so i dont want to do that every weekend. And this weekend someone is taking me to a place called Karma (sp?) and on saturday I am going to imax spiderman 3.
But other than that any suggestions??
Thanks

Body Worlds is in Dallas right now, at the Museum of Nature and Science
There's ice skating at the Galleria
Lots of cheaper and generally more stylistic bars and coffee houses north of downtown Dallas, closer to SMU
There's a pretty cool coffee house in the Bishop Arts district (west of downtown) that I'm going to check out tonight because it's close to where I live
Some good restaurants and walking areas in the West End, downtown
If you want to just drink, there are plenty of places in Dallas - some are expensive and some aren't. If you want to walk around, look at stuff, and have non-drinking/eating fun, downtown Fort Worth is actually a better choice

dunno if you are into gaming, but I know dallas(and texas in general) is a pretty big gaming city. I dunno why, by they seem to hold most gaming conventions down there. If you can you should check out Quakecon and maybe CPL if you are into that kind of stuff. plus I'm sure there are tons of local lans.

Texas is pretty much "the" state for game developers

You can go gamble at the Choctaw reservation its on the border of texas and oklahoma, they dont serve alchohol there though. There is DeepEllum lots of clubs and bars, and there is Greenville avenue also a kind of trendy place resturants and bars. I hope you are enjoying our current weather, you might end up having to swim back to idaho.

It goes a ways back too. Not just iD, but the Roberts brothers and that Lord British tool.

dallas doesn't just hold lots of gaming conventions, it holds lots of conventions in general. DFW is a major airport hub, so it tends to have a fuckload of conventions and other big events.

I will definetly have to look at the science museum. I did not realize that there was a decent one around here. I have heard that the addison strip is good for clubs/bars, so i might try some of those.
I have also heard that ghost bar downtown is a great place to go; and also O-bar (?) not sure. Can anyone vouch for those?
