Emissaries are torture though
They could have done a better job of tailoring each of them to their spec, but like what do you think would make them “actually challenging”? Dodging and interrupting stuff is kind of the only way wow has difficulty, and the raid setting requiring coordination of the movements of many people, which is why raids are hard, obviously can’t apply to a solo scenario. Raw number checks? More skilled players will beat it at lower ilevel, but that’s that easiest metric of difficulty and becomes trivialized with gear, as opposed to needing to execute properly on a series of mechanics
I’d say just skip it and go back at 110. Being able to fly and one shot mobs just makes the grindy parts of the questing experience go by faster, and still get the story if you want it
I have a lot of thoughts on the Mistweaver challenge in particular:
Fix the AI. It's obnoxious that the AI does variable DPS and can get stuck attacking the wrong add. Make them always kill the mage first even if you use a CC like Quaking Palm.
Remove the back of the room teleport from the Arbalest. It only matters if it happens at the same time as knife dance, meaning there's a 33% chance you just lose to the last pack versus it being incredibly easy to deal with, unless you drag the second to last pack out to wait for your stun to come off CD. It makes the encounter harder but in a dumb counterintuitive way.
Don't force the player to stand at range from the boss to handle the fire mechanics. This would have been a lot cooler if it was a soft enrage and the group followed you around the room.
Why does the intermission stage even exist at all?
Why do the fixate guys chase you instead of putting a ground puddle under you to force you to move? All this does is favor healers with roots and punish everyone else. Come to think of it, why is there nothing that forces you to move at all besides this and the last boss?
The penultimate boss just reuses trash and is no more difficult except that the incoming damage is slightly higher.
Why is the final boss mechanic an obtuse low health % snapshot check at all instead of a more interesting anub rhekan like mechanic that allows you to actually make decisions about what spells to use instead of just blanketing the DPS and ping ponging your own HP with void zones?
Why does every encounter actually punish you for doing extra damage because you need cooldown up for almost every pack? Was there no way to make a more interesting mage that can debuff or cc your allies or drop meteors on you or something?
The whole thing boils down to using leg sweep and paralysis at the right time and using your racial or whatever other emergency stomp you need if the timing gets borked up. I would have greatly preferred some kind of test of mana management or spike damage you need to handle and can't just interrupt (or you die). Even a debuff you needed to handle. The whole thing feels like a DPS challenge not a healing one.
edit: And yes, way too much luck involved with random targeting (both from the enemies and your party).
Yeah, the tank challenge is indistinguishable from a dps challenge. P1 is mostly add management/interrupting, and phase 2 is a DPS race, since you can only survive a certain number of stacks.
I do mine at the same time every week and dont necessarily bring the same group of people so if you or rhylith or whoever want in, feel free my dudes
m+ both gives you really good gear and gets you better at the game so like, there's actually no reason not to do it
Yeah I’d be glad to join up if I’m ever not busy on Sunday
he's Dogg the Bounty Hunter
you're being put to sleep because he's boring like the TV show
BUT I WAS READY
FOURTH TIMES THE CHARM
I can't use the form even though I do like it so back to regular form I go.
Jefflith, you fuckin' rock. Tampopo is one of my favorite movies of all.
Tomb:
2 piece Berserker Rage gives 20 rages instantly and then 10 rage every second for the next six seconds.
4 piece Shield Slam lowers the cooldown of Berserker by 3.0 seconds
Throne:
2 piece While Battle Shout is Active, Shield Slam's Cooldown is reduced by 100%.
I honestly dunno if the 2 piece is good enough to take off the legendary gloves that reduce MS' rage by 8, but I'm guessing it is? I'll look it up over the weekend
Instead of 'do you want this' I think they meant 'you definitely want this most awesome thing'
I tuned in briefly before bed, and watched a bit of mythic aggramar. They were inconsistent, but had some 30% pulls. I was expecting them to be 10/11 when I woke up.
8 hours later, they're still at it, and their best attempt is a 21% pull.
World first races are messed up man.
turns out i just had a haste stat stick for months, that gives more haste and strength that can't fall off
oops
