ah, okay. I remember reading it may get shut down.

been doing The Division a bunch. The survival shield will put me in a situation where I"ll have to do the other DLC achievements but ugh.. survival is just... meh.

Surprisingly, I've taken a shine to the last stand mode. While one of the achievements (50 wins) will likely take forever to complete...

The division was a surprising fun and engaging platinum trophy 2 years after release. I played through it mostly cooperatively with my buddy and it was a lot of fun. At release it looked pretty miserable though.

I was right about Guacamelee, it was a lot of fun. In game timer put me at 11:11 for the platinum trophy which is apparently in the top 1500 for hard mode 100% so that is cool. Going to give Divinity Original Sin a go because it is on sale and is supposed to be punishing. Probably work on Infamous Second Son at the same time. Pretty good start to the year for me, two platinum trophies in January so far!

Kinda bummed that Ace Combat 7 has a billion MP achievements. I should have seen it coming seeing as every one of them has, so I don't know if I want to start that or another game... or keep plugging away at the games that I have. too many long runs going on.

I got all the trophies for Dear Esther...that was sure a game about walking.

I keep trying these walking simulators when they are given for free or when they are incredibly cheap. I keep hoping that one of them will speak to me on a story level...so far they are ok to boring.

This one was probably the most boring of the bunch so far. Quick and simple but boring and the story made no sense other than the last two minutes.

Highlight of this one is win 50 battle royale matches.

edit: it's win a battle royale, play 50. just rechecked the list.

I hate multi player achievements. They kill any chance I have of finishing them like for Arkham Origins. I loved and finished all the single player trophies, but tried the multiplayer and it was an unfun mess of a mode that kept kicking me out every couple matches.

Now the servers were cut off. That plat is forever locked off from me. Oh well.

Yeah the worst part about the MP stuff is that you know that as soon as the game releases there is a timer counting down until the servers are killed. There was a free ps+ game several months ago that was MP only and had the servers turned off the month after it was given out. Not really Sony's fault I guess but it sucks.

MP achievements in a game that's primarily multiplayer are... ~okay~, within limits

    Multiplayer achievements that...
... are poorly balanced in their list suck (see: you get 90% of the achievements but one because it's play 10,000 matches or prestige ten times)
... are just time sinks suck (see 10,000 matches or prestige ten times)
... encourage behaviour detrimental to or at odds with your own time (see Gigantic wipe a squad, Titanfall kill entire the opposing team at evac, and many other achievements come to mind that do this)
    suck.

This is made worse because achievements like these are often just collaboratively farmed or boosted, which means the extreme requirements are just inflated barriers to people who want to complete a game naturally. And when you throw MP achievements into a game that's more single player, it just makes things worse.

So I'm sitting here with like one major trophy left to finish for Hollow Knight, but doing the pantheon boss rush I think might be my wall. I'm just not good enough at not getting hit constantly to beat that stupid thing. I'll keep trying but it's starting to break my spirit. :bigfrown:

I finally mopped up the platinum for Final Fantasy 7.

Now I'm looking forward to the remake but playing through the original really hit home just how much it hasn't aged well at all. The dialogue/story/characters were so amateurish in how they were presented. The dialogue was stilted and just was very off for much of the game. I really hope the remake overhauls the writing and even fixes some of the story that just didn't make sense.

Now on to mopping up the FFXV dlc trophies.

I need to play through 6 and 7 again, though I'm worried about breaking my rose-tinted glasses.

And shame on being one trophy away on Hollow Knight, especially when it's not a speed run trophy or such. That's the worst.

6 is a treasure and still holds up. In fact both 4 & 6 do. They are a bit elementary but Square was really early in the game at that point.

7 held up worse than I thought it would. I'm not even talking about the graphics, which to be fair are really off putting now, but then again that early PS1 3D just aged really really badly. The writing was just so bad that I'm surprised I didn't notice it when I was younger, but then again, back then we never thought it could get better than that. :P

Just spent 20 minutes warping around space in Rebel Galaxy so I could find 1 mineable space turd for the only 10 point achievement I could pop w/o risking popping others, just so I could get 210210 gamerscore. even though you can mine just about any asteroid for some reason they made just a few types that can do the thing, and the rest while they look not as turdish don't count. ::tell_me_more:

equally annoying is that while I've taken out maybe 15 pirate lord ships (rare spawn powerful ships with escorts that you have to chase down), if they don't have a bounty or are from an allied faction, they don't seem to count when I destroy them. I need 20 of them.

I am making my way through Divinity Original Sin Enhanced edition (what a name) and it is not too bad so far. It does have several easily missed trophies because of obscure or seemingly pointless conversations but that is pretty par for the course for the genre. I don't think it is quite as hard in Honor as some people do but they will ruin your day in a hurry.

    Nope, still full of missables.

I played through with a guide and got 99% of the game done in the first playthrough. I did cleanup during the "speedrun" second playthrough.

like, I even have most of the world pissed on by the dog D:

FFX-2 was much worse then 12. In 12 you missed the zodiac spear chest, but it was still a drop from an enemy that could be farmed. In FFX-2 you missed the true ending with the big reveal. I played through it with the guide and at about 35% missed something that counted for like 0.5% and I was done with the game.

But I had the official guide! Which sucked ass! Seriously you had to flip from the chapter you were on back to the index to try and see what step you needed to do next instead of it just following in the guide. Also at that time I did replay games fairly frequently but not 80 hour long jrpg epics. Also also the guide had a picture of one of the characters, Payne(so fucking edgy), in one of her costumes with a very clear camel toe. Teenage boys pay attention to the strangest things.

They weren't too bad. I think it took three or four playthroughs. There are a couple trophy walkthroughs online that make it much easier because some of the playthrough requirements are easy to miss.

Yeah... these are RPGs we're talking about. Not much in the way of branching and convos to want to replay proper.

Got my Platinum in Divinity: Original Sin: Enhanced Edition (yes its real name). I didn't think anyone made games like the old Icewind Dale or Neverwinter nights games but apparently this one and its sequel exist and are pretty good. Huge shock going to an old school RPG style with zero hand holding or fucks given if you die. Then again I did play through it once on the hardest difficulty with Ironman so maybe if I had played twice it would have been less of a shock. Still a good game though.

I bought this game called Super Weekend Mode, which is kind of a blend of a shmup and a puzzle game. Pixelly graphics, mega mannish music, and gameplay that seems precisely tuned to destroy my brain. It's pretty fun and worth checking out of you like that kind of thing. But long story short, it was $4 and literally was a 10 minute Platinum. Also all the trophies are gold's (11 of em).

Anyone on PS4 who has plus should tag and download Conan exiles. Apparently they left dev mode in and you can basically give yourself the trophies more or less. One multiplayer trophy but it is easy to boost apparently. It is a damn 76 gig download though.

The latest patch of Anthem saw to it that after shooting my LMG a bit in Freeplay (I guess, when I got bronze Weapon Master) my bugged LMG Trophy popped resulting in me platinuming Anthem finally.

I also platinumed Crossovers by POWGI, a kind of crossword puzzle game, of which I am quite proud as English is not my native language, and I managed to solve everything without consulting the Internet or a dictionary once

I've been playing through Borderlands GotY, getting most of the achievements there.

There are are a handful of achievements for Moxxi's arena. That's a long and dreadfully dull task so I don't know if I'll go for those, but I think I'll try for most of the rest.

Also, one of the "unmissable" story achievements didn't pop, and neither did an achievement for completing ~60 specific side quests, so that's... great.

I have the handsome collection for my PS4 but there is no way I am getting either platinum. I will probably play through just to pick up most of the trophies but some of them are just too much of a grind even for me.
