You could pick San Junipero and Hang The DJ and just leave the rest.

I'll probably check it all out at some point, but I'm just a bit disinterested with dystopian-feeling fiction at the moment!

Those are both feelgood type episodes

I will say, don't watch the last episode of season 4, "Black Museum," without watching the rest if the series first.

Some things only work if you have the proper context

Still have two episodes to watch - Metalhead and Black Museum

Arkangel was pretty bad eh? I actually exclaimed out loud an 'For fuck sake' and rolled my eyes at the screen during that one. I'm sure the writers of that one felt my disdain

Callister and Hang the DJ were great though. Crocodile was pretty good

Thoughts on season 4 so far:
    1. Really fun, great early twist that they followed through on really well.
    2. Everyone seems to hate this one? I liked it though, it was alright.
    3. Grim to the point of absurdity, even for this show. Also kinda misses the usual point of the grimness; it was just a bad person doing bad things, and the presence of technology had nothing to do with it. Very pretty episode though.
    4. Very good, I like when Black Mirror does nicer stuff.

    I'm on Black Museum now.

Metalhead was good if a bit generic feeling, although I literally exclaimed:
MOTHER FUCKIN' KNIFE HAND when the dog looked up at the knife rack.

Ok, Crocodile made me real uneasy and feel like I wanted to cry

    5. Simple and gory. I can see why it's a divisive episode. Luckily it's also really fun, and quite different to other eps.
    D-800
    was rad.

    Just finished season 4 today.
Ep 6 was wonderful and I could do with more episodes structured like that in a more short story variety.

Metalhead was ok but didn't feel terribly deep. I'd say it was the weakest.

I really liked the tech concept behind crocodile and how all the legal corroboration of it was built.

Overall a very good season and Jesse Plemons was giving off a huge Matt Damon vibe that whole first episode. Solid start and finish and mostly good in between!

    Oh yeah re ep 6:

    episode 3
It was interesting from an unintended consequences of technology point of view but that scene with the baby was a bit much for me.

Finished s3e4 last night and it feels like one of the weaker seasons but with one of my top episodes. Had to take a break after watching "Playtest"

I finished the new series tonight. The last episode was entertaining enough but there's nothing there to really examine or discuss, it's just a sort of goofy horror collection.

I'd say this season generally went to the well of "there is a digital version of you that can be tortured with, at the very best, unlimited boredom" a little too much. It's a horrifying concept but I think the well is tapped.

    Episode 1:
I was afraid this was going to turn into the season 3 episode "White Christmas".......I think I got confused because the two lead actresses look extremely alike....but I'm glad it turned out to be a bit different. I found the episode interesting but not mind-blowing. I'm glad there was a generally positive ending, but I found the crew's super buoyant moods at the end to be extremely forced. They still have to live forever, and they can never return home, but suddenly everything is super great? :\

Episode 2 (I felt similar to @Goatmon here - I watched the whole thing but the premise from the get-go made me very uncomfortable.):
Thought this was a decent episode, felt a bit weird to me personally as there were some very uncomfortable levels of "unhealthy parental control" that reminded me of my NPD mother, but...beyond that, I thought it was fine. I find psychology and brain-stuff pretty interesting, so I enjoyed that they explored childhood development a tiny bit and how it may be affected by being extremely over-protective to the point where it stunts a child's emotional growth.

    Episode 3:
Also pretty okay. I was hoping she would get caught at some point and the plot would develop a bit more beyond just her finding a reason to keep the killin' cycle going, but was fine with the direction they went (as "fine" as you can be with any episode of this series, I guess!). The baby thing at the end felt forced a bit, because I figured she wasn't in the kid's sight line when she first heard the crying, and so she could have just........left. The fact she went into the room made me frustrated. I did say "augh" when they revealed that the kid was blind, too. Reading some of the reactions in this thread, it does in retrospect seem to have been an unnecessary additional "look at how awful this is" bit. Despite my reaction to the 2nd episode, I think this one is the one I liked the least thus far.

I remember the first few episodes I ever saw of this series - S1E1 and S1E2 - absolutely destroyed me. I swore off the show for like a year afterwards, I just couldn't handle it. Then I picked it back up, and have managed to go through multiple binge-watching sessions (since these are so long, I also mean just like...1+ a day). Really glad I stuck with it, but this show is definitely something I have to be prepared for mentally before I can sit down and watch it. I'd been planning on watching Season 4 for a little while now, but knew that I needed to be in pretty content/happy mood before diving in. Luckily tonight I felt good enough to take the plunge, and I'm glad I did. Even if I'm not 100% into an episode now and then, I really love the show in general. There's definitely been way more good than bad IMO, and the production values are great.

Surprisingly hopeful end, I had feared that episode was going to take a very dark turn.

Its still a good watch though and has the added bonus that it came out years before the whole David Cameron/Pig's Head thing was revealed

    Eerily prescient there!

    i just finished this season!

i think episode two was my favourite. it seemed to have the most relevant ethical questions to me as a modern parent - a lot of the philosophy of this season hinged on
'so assume that your consciousness/experience/memory can be duplicated,'

which i don't believe is actually likely to happen any time soon and doesn't worry me at all. that said i do think this season was broadly the most entertaining one yet, and i wouldn't be disappointed if any future incarnations of black mirror ran with season-long themes like this one did

Thoroughly enjoyed Metalhead. Had heard it was butts, and while it ain't a best of, I'd put it pretty high on the list.
    murderpup was adorable

Currently playing Horizon Zero Dawn, felt kinda similar!

So far only dud has been Crocodile. Felt like a pointless slog. Everything else has been good to great.

    Oh brilliant

i watched two episodes of Black Mirror today, and liked them very much
San Junipero and Hang The DJ. I heard they were the two sweet romantic episodes and I was not disappointed.

I've watched S1E1 and S1E2 before and appreciated the craft of them, but found them so relentlessly dour I realized the show wasn't for me--but wanted to see the ones people said were cute and sweet.

I might watch Metalhead at some point, it sounds like a good one. Maybe McCallister as well, but that'll probably be it for me.

I think I really hated the last episode - Black Museum. First episode I think I can say I really, really didn't like in the slightest.
The antagonist/museum owner was over-the-top cartoonishly evil and for some reason they decided to try a weird attempt at goofy humor throughout the whole thing? Also needlessly vulgar sexual overtones and language. The ending didn't feel like a "win" or a triumph, it all was just dwarfed by how awful and grotesque the episode was.

    Enjoyed Metalhead a lot, though.

Just started Season 4. Only did episode 1 so far.
If Bryan Fuller does make more Hannibal and makes an in-show adaptation of Silence Of The Lambs, Cristin Milioti would be a fantastic Clarice Starling and Jesse Plemons would be a perfect Buffalo Bill.

I just started watching from the start. It really turned a corner on White Bear.

    That episode fucked me up.
