I spent New Year's Day tramping round a sunny countryside throwing balls for dogs and patting horses noses. Would recommend.

I did similarly; took the doggo out for a walk, going to see my friend's donkeys. There are worse things to do :)

I spent New Year’s with my new girlfriend, making Korean dumplings, playing Jackbox with friends online, watching Arrival. We’ve been apart for about 8 days (she was on a family vacation), so we’ve spent a lot of extended quality time together now.

On New Year’s Day, we went to a friend’s house to watch Harold and Maude.

Getting recognized (on the internet) for music is the thing I have resolved to do. Not super-duper famous, just like... I dunno. Validation I'm doing the right thing for myself.

Cool! I didn't know you were into making music. Got any links? One of the hardest things about doing music is getting other people to listen to it.
I think that'd go against the forum's rules about site / content whoring.

pretty sure you can put a small tasteful link in your sig, and you can definitely PM it to interested folks who asked for it.

Does anyone have any recommendations for tracking New Years' goals? Right now my goals are very vague, but I think if I had maybe a spreadsheet or some online tool to log info I might be able to hammer out some S.M.A.R.T.s.

    Goals:
    1. Cook/eat vegetarian meals for dinner at least 2x per week (DRX assistance is crucial)
    2. Run 5k in 30 mins by July. Almost had this down last Spring then got fatter instead.
    3. Invest in a creative hobby. I don't have any self-made memorabilia since I stopped editing video a couple years ago.

    Goals:

    1) Run a 5k in under 25 mins. was 10 seconds short in my first competitive effort, mostly due to never having run in an actual race before and having a dry mouth for half the race.
    2) Run a 10k in whatever time it takes to run, but hopefully less then an hour(+10 min tbh).
    3) Start the new year by running on a treadmill for 2 hours at a average low speed 8.5kph That one failed. I had to give up at the 10k 1h,10m mark. I probably could have made it, but it would have taken me weeks to recover from it. Setting all my other fitness goals back. Guess I will have to substitute running up to an area near by called the moon(due to its desolate and cratered appearance) and back. Should be about 8k in rough outdoors terrain(half of it up hill).

    4) Read one of the classics. Last year was Count of Monte Cristo. No idea which it will be this year.
    5) Get a new cell phone and ditch pre-paid cards for subscription. Been using those cards for too long and worrying about running out of call time.
    6) Look for a new job with a bit more dedication. I started last year, but due to family issues I decided to put it on the back burner.
    7) Be more social, maybe try to date(big maybe). I managed to hit my goals last years, so I should build on that.

If I managed half of those goals I will be pretty pleased with my self. I won't start them all in January because that is taking on too much to soon, but spend the year building up to them.

The sky was full of stars, every star an exploding ship. One of ours.

As for tonight, I'd get drunk but that makes me all confrontational and shit. So I'll probably eat a lot of tacos.

Hello fellow musician! What kind of music you making?
