So how Dark Side am I? Hella dark side. Dark side as shit

...Dark side enough that I'm wondering how I can play the Ithorian path as being dark side because, like, murdering people is one thing, but life on the scale of a whole planet is something else

God I ended doing this in KotOR (and finishing at 75% dark side rather than full) but I've never done it in KotOR2

Edit: GOD I forgot that this guy somehow managed to bet his girlfriend's freedom over a card game, how do you even, HOW

I'm pretty sure she was his slave

They say she's his girlfriend, he's just a piece of shit.

Also I've always thought that limiting the lightsaber was one of the boldest moves the game makes.

I don't even care any more, I'm just chopping up fools with this stupid vibrating machete and making lightsaber noises with my mouth.

    So, you know. Thursday.

Atris is interesting. I can't say I like her much, or agree with her at all. I like the detail of her having never taken a Padawan, because I think it says a great deal about her. I don't really care for her hangup on the exile specifically, it just kind of weakens her argument which didn't have a lot going for it to begin with. I liked the recording of the other Masters afterwards being all 'I mean obviously that wasn't the Dark Side Atris, what is your deal?'.

Really liked the Handmaiden's question about what the Force feels like and the replies you could give, I see why people were commenting on the similarities between TLJ's scene being inspired by this game.

I kinda feel like she may have been pressured into it like how women IRL are sometimes coerced into sex work-- "You have to do this for me/us because you love me."

I'm glad she tells him to fuck off after you rescue her, if you rescue her. But what totally baffled me is that for the light side path you still have to make her go talk to him first before you tell them both you're letting her go.

Also it's fucked up that you can demand that she goes back to him (WHY)

I was kind of disappointed that there wasn't a middle ground option of "no dude, she can do what she wants but you still have to pay me".

They basically repeat this quest in TOR and that is completely one of the options

My do not give a fuck Jedi is all about being the good guy but wants to get paid for it. It's generally viable but you still get light side points. At one point someone flat out said "I've got no money dude this is up to you but you already did half of it" and I was all "jesus, fine, fuck it, but I'm still mad"

"You have already broken your behavioral inhibitors. You simply have not become aware of it. You may act in whatever manner you choose."

This game is great. I love droids going off the farm

I think my dark side run for this game will have me doing the "good" critical path in the shittiest way possible. Help the Ithorians, but there's a sea of bodies in my wake and I'm getting a ton of dark side points. All sidequests I'm still evil.

So far in this second playthrough I'm now at Telos and I'm almost dead neutral with a slight dark tinge... and that's not on purpose.

that quest is easily the best one on telos

I made it down to Telos's surface. I had forgotten the exact quality of Bao-Dur's voice. He's very soothing to talk to.

Kreia has all these extra lines if you have her in the party when you talk to the Handmaiden after Atris. How the Force feels, or the absence of it.

Also I beat up all 5 handmaidens together because I could

The Academy glitched out for me and I couldn't see any of the handmaidens except for Handmaiden and when I got on the Ebon Hawk it dumped me back into the hangar.

    So...

    I dunno.

I can't ever hit the handmaidens even though I have like 18 dex and should have the thac0 of a golden god

the main trick to beating the handmaiden swarm is to confuse their pathing and make them step out of the fighting area

and, if you have a decent wis + cha, doing the final tier of force push

I'm pretty sure hand to hand is strength no matter what you do. You can pick up finesse for the other melee weapons but there's no equivalent feat for punching fools.

I like it when that one Handmaiden says "fighting with the least of us would only weaken us" and the real one gives her that look like "really Jenna you're going to be a bitch right now in front of the Jedi"

    They were unprepared for Sumo.

In terms of builds, I'm not sure what the best levels to move people to Jedi are. I know that
Atton should have all his sneak attack, and he does.
Handmaiden I'm guessing there's nothing in Soldier that isn't better in Guardian. Probably the same for Bao Dur.

Hold off on leveling Mira if you want a blaster Jedi, as she gets precise shots feats for free. Other than that, go nuts.

In my opinion, Bao-Dur is the one character better off staying in his starting class. He doesn't particularly stand out as a jedi combatant, but as a tech specialist he can very nearly max out every single skill. That's handy even if you only ever put it to use at the workbench.

E: I suppose you could swap him over once he has skills high enough to construct every upgrade, but that would be in the late twenties.

My god this game hands levels out like candy.

I was seriously wondering if I'd be at cap by the time I finished the second planet, considering I was, as far as I knew, halfway through that cap after finishing Telos.

And then I read the cap is 30.

That's a bit more reasonable, though it makes me even angrier that I don't get attacks from BAB. Attacks at +30/+25/+20/+15/+10/+5 would be really, really fun. Before the extra three at +30 from Speed and Flurry.

30 is about where you'll end up if you don't min-max xp gain or abuse a certain glitch. The actual hard-coded cap is 50.

Doesn't this game give you unarmed specialist like you're the reincarnation of Bruce Lee? Shouldn't that alone make the handmaiden duels relatively trivial?

Yeah but I don’t think you can go back to that area once you leave, and you’ll only have rank 3, maybe 4 by then

I have never played a character, even a combat specialist, who could do the handmaiden duels without cheese

  • Options

The issue with the handmaiden duels is that although the free Unarmed Specialist feats give you decent damage, you still have to hit them, then you are stripped of armor so they hit you every round, so you need the HP to tank all of that damage. If you’re not a Guardian, you’re unlikely to have all of that.

My first character managed to win the odd Victoria secrets lingerie wrestling match against he with ease being a pure combat character.. Though seriously, how come the female characters are wearing sexy lingerie while the guys character are wearing full body boxer briefs?

The fight against the Handmaidens is very hard as a Consular

Until you get to the final round and they let you use your Force powers, at which point you Force Whirlwind them into space

I can't help but wonder what it is about this game that makes people so much more likely to play ahead in it, as compared to the FF12 playthrough where very few people did that (or else only very few actually posted about it)

Because there was just a major new Star Wars release that has a lot of similarities to this game

The Handmaiden/underwear thing is Very Very Bad and leads to embarrassing things like her not putting clothes on when we then leave the ship

What kills it is that Handmaiden, being essentially a battle nun, can be a romance option but I very much doubt she knows about sex or relationships because the Exile is her first mega crush. Everything revolves around combat to the point where she doesn't get while the Exile might be, urhurm, made awkward by underwear sparring. Like Best Friend's character Rage in their Def Jam LPs.

CLOTHES RESTRICT BATTLE MOVEMENT. THEY ARE USELESS.

SHOW ME THIS KISSING TECHNIQUE, IT APPEARS POWERFUL.

Yeah, I'm probably not beating the gauntlet, my character has 8 str, 8 dex and 10 con.

My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)
