I wonder if the anti-smurfing system for Clash will eventually see its way into ranked in general
Has Riot ever said how they feel about smurfing in ranked?
Riot is ok with creating new accounts and ranking up through the system. They will not tolerate people throwing matches or artificially keeping their MMR low. So smurfing in general is ok, but if they find out you have a challenger account, yet you've spent 50 games chilling in silver. They're going to ban you for some amount of time.
Another game ruined by a weird lag that doesn't show up as ping, the game just turns into a slideshow. And then suddenly I am the only person on the rift. All my skills are blanked out. This goes on for what seems like forever before I decide to close the game and log back in to an enemy team with baron that is two levels up on me. Seems to happen way too often on my crappy internet. Guess I am retired, again.
How do placement matches work in lol? I mean ya I want to go 10-0, but prolly not. Are there thresholds?
You can only rank so high based off of previous ranks. If you're completely unranked I think it's silver one or silver five. Dunno how high in diamond you have to be but the absolute highest anyone is capable of ranking is platinum one.
Clash last night was fun. Our first game we were playing against at least two Rioters on a team called "We Made This." We got beat in the second game by a team that actually built a legit team comp and knew how to use it. We also might have forgotten to buy Quicksilver Sashes against the Skarner, but they had tons of engage and CC and we didn't handle it well. Perhaps the most disappointing moment was when we "won" a fight in the jungle but Brand's passive killed three of ours after, giving him a quadrakill. That was kind of our last gasp.
Still, this is a fun mode, and many thanks to Riot for doing it.

I was stoked about it back when it was announced but I haven't played much overall lately and not SR in something like 6 weeks - so I feel like I'd be on the bad side of asset/liability haha. With that caveat I do think I have the free time Sunday and I can bring a good attitude, so you can count me as a second stringer.
am I forgetting anyone else who might be amenable to clash? It would be so fun to do tryhard pick/ban!
@credeiki I might be available but I'm not sure if you can swap into another team at all. Currently it seems like it locks you into a team for the weekend, which makes sense but might be disappointing if I can't get my actual team together tonight, much less tomorrow.
But if I am free and can't play with that team (seems somewhat likely) and can actually join a new one I'd be in.
@credeiki as well as an update for whomever might need this knowledge: once you lock into a team, you are with that team for the weekend's duration, it seems. Technically I don't know if I could substitute in on a team or not, but I can't join one as a full member.

Next time I'll practice a more varied champion pool beforehand so I won't eg buy random shit on Jhin (I actually like going IE first; totally not sure why I bought ER). Sorry about not banning Zoe the first game; that guy just didn't feel like a midlaner from his most played champs ;_;

It seems pretty cheese, AP would make her Q (before lichbane and probably rabadons) and her passive worthless. So pre-6 you are just a shittier version of AD Irelia? Which is rough because her levels 1-2 are pretty darn strong now and you should be trying to snowball from early trades/all-ins.
I can see it being decently bursty at 2-3 items once there's enough AP for the Q+lichbane to be good burst. I don't think any of her AP ratios are all that high though, and she isn't all that naturally tanky anymore or anything. Why wouldn't you just play Akali or Fizz at that point?

W, E, and R all have AP ratios on her kit. With five hundred AP she actually is immune to all non true damage once W is maxed.
Haha yeah I just looked it up and the DR on her W scales with AP for some reason? Interesting.
She only has 0.4 AP on her W (up to 0.8 for a full channel but you aren't going to get a full channel off in most situations), 0.8 on her E and 0.7 on her R. So a total of 1.9 in her burst rotation unless you get a longer W off or they walk into your R blades. You do get up to 3 Qs on a target but the Lichbane CD is 2 seconds I think so probably only 2-3 total Lichbane procs.
Meanwhile, Akali has 0.45 passive, 0.9 Q, 0.6 E and 0.35 R for a total of 2.3 in her initial rotation, plus she can do 2 more Rs which would be similar to Irelia's extra Qs.
So I guess it's comparable. Irelia has a bit more teamfight utility due to the ranged stun and the ranged disarm, for the tradeoff of somewhat less burst.

What was his intended role even supposed to be? I honestly don't remember, I think it was top lane? And for Yasuo purposes his W might count as a displacement when he spits them out. Not a true knock up but...kind of a knock up.
