What was his intended role even supposed to be? I honestly don't remember, I think it was top lane? And for Yasuo purposes his W might count as a displacement when he spits them out. Not a true knock up but...kind of a knock up.
Originally he was intended to be a top laner, but they realized pretty quickly that his W would make for a good support ability.
It wouldn't surprise me if Yasuo can ult off of it, and I was unaware that Riot had any specific definition for "knock-up" in the game (as opposed to "displacement"). There are a few slightly unusual cases like Nami's "suspension" on her Aqua Prison (that applies "Airborne" but can be reduced by Tenacity), but is "knock up" different than "displacement"?

I think the generic term that gets used is "airborne" which applies to both knock ups and knock backs, Alistar's Q and W being an example of each. I personally just got used to saying displacement because Anivia wall doesn't...really knock you back but it works for Yasuo ult, which works off any forced displacement. I think their wording is airborne for that purpose.

Well, no, because "Airborne" also applies to Nami's suspension, which unlike displacements can be reduced by tenacity. The generic term for knock-up / back is displacement, I believe, but I was just asking because if so Tahm's W really can be called a "knock-up" (if a very brief one). Assuming that works, that is, which it wouldn't surprise me if it does.

Support releases are the most exiting releases so I'm excited about this one. Harder to include a long distance teleport, two knockups, and percent health damage on a support!
...aggressive support? Hi, yes, you have my attention. gimmie gimmie.
Hopefully whoever it is doesn't get constantly nerfed like every other aggressive support that isn't Janna.

Yeah I'm not sure, I've never seen a Yasuo try to ult off of it but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was allowed to.

I thought he was originally supposed to be a jungler? I just remember a champion vid of him and him walking in the river playing with a scuttle crab.
I have skin shards for warring kingdoms xin and winged hussar xin and I'm not sure which to redeem. I think I like hussar xin more but there are some warring kingdom chromas that look very nice.
Ended up playing Rakan again in Flex, and had a good time winning three in a row. Which put me into a promotion series, and I promptly lost the next three. I had forgotten that when things start to turn against you down in the silver-tiers, it snowballs hard, and it feels like a foregone conclusion unless you get a lucky engage or pick. And then even then, character power is so disproportionate that you need to catch that break multiple times in a row to actually turn the tides and win.... unless that lucky break was late game and death timers were long enough that you can quick push to win.

Ended up fighting my way back into another series playing what I know:
Sona with a Lich Bane.
...hey, it got me a S+ and two S-'s on the trip.
First game of the series:
Jungler complains that they're duoing and I should swap roles with them. It goes about as well as you can expect, especially with Zoe running rampant on the enemy team deleting people.
EDIT: Game 2:
Jax and Veigar are dumb characters and should be shot into the sun.

I swear the little scumbag has like a 3s cooldown on cages. Specifically went after him once because I thought it was on cooldown, and WELP.
I feel like most Veigars prioritize 40% cdr, so it ends up being much shorter cd than one might expect. Especially once it has several points in it lategame. I play a lot of Veigar now for some reason, and I think the lategame cd is like...between 8-10 seconds? You definitely cage multiple times in a fight, unless it was a really short fight.

have you thought about playing exclusively long range mages that stay so far away that the stun cage is only barely visible over the horizon?

Aiming to make a lot of changes next year, especially to the ranked system. Sounds like Bronze / Silver will become three tiers, while Diamond is being split into two. In addition to the "season" structure, there will be three "splits" that will affect your border / loading screen, and you'll have a rating in each role you play.
Sounds...interesting, to say the least.

Position-based ranks, and match-making taking into consideration role select sounds hella sweet.
Plus the split system seems overdue. That sounds like it'd keep people playing more often, instead of just knocking out 10 games.
Also the new placement system sounds welcome, where you get your provisional placement right away as your floor rating, accelerated LP gains over the duration, and you can't lose LP for losses.

I think I'll like this and it'll be a positive thing. they were talking about it on the dive recentlyand it made sense. You want to learn a new champ or position and you lose elo, then go back to whatyou know. This was for clash where expanding your champion pool could benefit. But I know I"ve taken a hit in my MMR to try and play ADC.I know I"ve wanted to learn jungle again, so this could be nice.

Sometimes I wish Fizz's troll pole would get reworked so these players might value their lives more. Like, if it prevents a hit, it has a chance to get knocked over and Fizz falls on his head and stuns himself. Or something.

I'm glad we have such easy access to stats-tracking websites, because it's way too easy to think that you're still doing as well on a champion as you used to do during a different season/at a different elo by selectively forgetting all those games you fail at and only remembering the great ones. game 2: our jungle Graves is playing hearthstone arena and refuses to stop once the game starts, giving up several deaths early before his card game ends. Their jungle Shaco goes 18/0....
(I didn't play well either, but we could not have won.)
game 3: midlane Swain is losing to Yasuo; top/jg/mid loses a 3v2 and my top afks and never returns. In the meantime, we are even botlane as Jinx/Ali into Caitlyn/Karma, but we actually start engaging and killing them. Then we surrender at 15 because top isn't returning. If she'd just waited to see how botlane started going off!
game 4: I let someone else play adc and I support, but don't think through my support pick at all and play a very lane-dominant Sona--Lucian/Sona destroys Vayne/Soraka, and Vayne never recovers--and then I immediately die in every single teamfight to a very fed Diana and Graves (midlane lost 1v1 really hard). I needed to play someone way tankier into Diana and just didn't. And I didn't position safely. But Sona's really fun and aggro Sona is extra fun, so I sort of couldn't help feeding and I'd do it again!
Lost one in Duo queue last night (G2 / friend is G5), in large part because LeBlanc was shoved in hard by a Sion and couldn't do anything with me trying to camp her lane. ADC was kind of bad also.
Then went 1-1 in Flex to lose my promo series to Gold but bounce right back into it with a free win. The cathartic thing is that our 3-man queue played against the exact same team both times, and after they trash-talked us in the first one (and beginning of the second) it felt good to turn the table and win the second one, even though it started out bad for us. We were actually down 5.5k at 22m but won at 26 with a 5k lead. At least I have a 1-0 lead in the series now, so I'm actually further along than when I began last night, arguably.
