Birds of Prey is literally Thermal Void, that's shockingly uninteresting. The play style of the spec looks kind of interesting though, kind of reminds me of Warhammer Witch Hunter but with a pet.

Oh also they're clearly not even close to done with spec reworks, several MM abilities and talents reference spells that aren't even in the game yet.
Lightning Surge Capacitor Totem is now baseline, woo! With M+ as a focus, AoE stuns are mandatory so is noce to see Blizz not longer pretending that they aren't. The talent now reduces it CD by 5 sec per enemy hit, up to 20 sec.
Earth Shield is back! Neat.
The bad:
Ancestral Guidance isn't there, Earth Shield is now on that slot. Boo.
Tidal Waves is now a 10% effect increase instead of an extra stack per Riptide. That's a nerf.
Cloudburst Totem now, instead of saying 25% of all healing goes to the totem, now says 25% of all effective healing goes to the totem. That's a massive nerf, given that the way that CBT is used in raids right now is to spam AoE heals before damage to explode it just when the mass AoE damage happens.
Overall, given the sheer uselessness of Earthgrab Totem, I would just put AG on that spot. Rest I guess that can be worked around with talents, though the CBT nerf probably makes Echo of the Elements mandatory in raids, same as in dungeons, which is kinda lame.
Personally I hate CBT because it basically forces you to just spam big heals on people that dont need it for the burst later, so it just isn't very intuitive. It basically works backward from every other heal. The crashing wave nerf might not be too bad since you'll probably be running with echo anyway. Personally I love having earth shield not being a pvp talent anymore. Ancestral guidance always seemed like the hybrid healing utility anyway so while it might be the loss of a cooldown, it's not breaking my heart.
The real travesty is what elemental is looking like. That's a big steaming pile of eww. Warlocks though are looking neat with getting some of the vanilla spells back in aff and destruction, but demo is still a wild card like survival. I almost feel like at this point paladin or DK might be the safe picks for the expansion because it doesn't look like much is changing for them. Of course it is really early so everything can still change.
I think that the CBT gameplay is actually interesting and makes Shaman more of a proactive healer like Disc with Atonement, which is always cool. And yeah, is all small quibbles, mostly because AG is a useful talent and Earthgrab Totem isn't.
Ele is kind of a bigger deal, losing Icefury can be worked around and Volcanic Rage seems promising, but man, losing Gust of Wind, the best talent ever, just plain sucks balls.
If getting Dark Iron dwarves requires to be exalted with Brotherhood, I can imagine the rage storm.
And the Zandalari.... oof.
I have a feeling they will nerf or eliminate the rep requirements by the time the expac hits.
Hmm so it was worth getting the Thorium Bros to exalted back in Vanilla I had nothing better to do back then
So since my rogue did the Nightborn story and is exalted with them I can make one? since it's tied to account not to side?
Or is the name Zul a hereditary leadership title?

Its the melee that a spec that used to be ranged would be. They have ranged shit but you are going to need to be up close to do full DPS.
It seems like they have the ability to be ranged and do nearly full damage for short bursts. That is a niche that I guess was mostly Unholy but this iteration of Survival seems like it would be a bit better at it.
I do like the move of Survival becoming more of a Gadgeteer-style spec, with all sorts of little toys they've picked up over time to scratch out a victory.
Also, THROWING EAGLES AT THINGS. Nice way to acknowledge the artifact spear.

It would be cool if the gadgety type things took on more of a jungle/forest survivalist rather than an engineer, but I don't think it will be too crazy either way. I think they may be trying to insert a bit too much BM spec stuff in, but they're still playing with it, so it's not like they couldn't just 180 to something else.
I'm just not sure I'll be able to continue playing shaman at all. There are just too many changes to the caster specs, and enhancement is just kind of meh. Hard to say at this point because they are still working on every class, but if the content is mostly going to be designed like Legion, I don't think I'll want to do it on shaman. I've changed what I started with almost every expansion anyway though, so I always float around between different things.
"Zul" is a versatile and complicated word in Zandali. The quickest, easiest, and roughest translation to Common is "Great". It is a title often granted to characters of significant tribal importance. Characters of utmost prominence typically wear it as a prefix (Zul'jin), whereas characters of lesser importance wear it as an infix (Gan'zulah) or suffix (Khar'zul). You're probably most likely to see it used commonly in the naming of locations, too. Typically cities and temples are named in this fashion, though remember that there's often little difference between the two in Troll society -- as most major temples to the Loa are cities themselves. Again, try to think of "Zul" as translating to "Great" in this instance: Zul'Gurub is the ancestral home of the Gurubashi trolls, for example, so it is given the title out of reverence and respect (Great Gurub). The Drakkari refer to their ancestral home (Zul'Drak) in the same way, as do the Farraki (Zul'Farrak), the Amani (Zul'Aman) and even the Zandalari (Zuldazar).
The Prophet Zul is very unlikely to be named "Zul". Instead, it's likely a title granted to him because of his ability to peer into the future (like referring to him as "The Great Prophet"). It certainly could be an hereditary title, passed on to another Great Zandalari Prophet following the failures of the previous title-holder, but I personally think this Prophet Zul will be the same Prophet who came to Rastakhan with a warning of the Cataclysm and the rise of the Naga -- the same Prophet who was essentially exiled from Zuldazar and then gathered a number of the warring Troll tribes under his banner, then brought them to the shores of Pandaria when the Mists cleared, and used them to help resurrect the Thunder King. We don't really know what happened to him in the end, since I'm not sure he was ever actually present in MoP; as I recall, he had sent Khar'zul and Gara'jai in his place. So he could definitely conceivably return as a character in the Battle for Azeroth.
I'm curious to see how they'll handle Zandalar, to be honest, because the entire island was meant to be destroyed during the Cataclysm. Zul and his adherents got out ahead of time, then gathered up leaders from the Drakkari, Amani, Gurubashi and Farraki tribes because he foresaw the end of Troll civilization -- he knew they needed to band together as one. The entire reason the Zandalari and their allies came to Pandaria during Mists was because they had nowhere else to go. Zandalar, as we were told, had been destroyed --
But Zul's vision were visions of the truth. Deathwing's Cataclysm rocked Zandalar to its foundation. The spine of the land broke in two, and soon, the city and all its riches began to slide into the hungry sea. The Zandalari people turned to their King for help, but there was only one Zandalari equipped to help them: The prophet Zul. Even now the mighty and enigmatic troll empire slides into the sea, and Zandalari peasants and warriors alike flock to Zul for guidance on what to do next.[3] Led by Zul, the Zandalari have issued a call to Azeroth's embattled troll populations: unite into a single mighty empire and save their race from extinction.
But now everything's okay? I want to play a Zandalari troll really badly (and I'm totally going to), but I'm definitely having a difficult time wrapping my head around what seems to be a pretty serious retcon.
Maybe that’s why they joined Horde - they have shamans and whatnot that actually seem on point for dealing with natural disasters. The Alliance seems pretty terrible at dealing with anything you can’t just kill.
How much is involved to get to roll an allied race? It sounds like they won't be available immediately.
Dark Iron Dwarves are pretty awesome, but not sure if i want to go through effort to roll one.
You can already roll 4 of the 6 if you have grinded the rep appropriately from Legion (highmountain, nightborne, and the two argus ones), zandalari and dark iron will come out of BoA exp.
Ah, finally killed H High Command earlier on the week. So that's cool. Did a few M+ with one of the officers and he was all "yeah, gonna have to start benching people that aren't cutting it else we are killing H Argus on September", so progress will likely pick up, got IRL stuff coming so going to be off a couple of months or so. Meanwhile, almost done grinding to Prestige 2 on this character.

As someone who missed all of Warlords of Draenor I can confirm that doing old content is ass and the steep requirement for flying in Draenor and Legion when BfA releases is going to be very frustrating for new players or anyone who skipped an expansion.
I get that it is a more interesting and rewarding experience to earn flying instead of hitting max level and dropping a few thousand gold but getting flying for Draenor or Legion when BfA releases should be more accessible.

I never fear death or dyin', I only fear never trying.
Didn't sign up to raid last night because I didn't think I'd make it, manage to log in anyway and find they were wiping on N Council. Asked if they needed help and in 5 seconds I'm invited raid and summoned in.
Then proceed to one shot it with me leading DPS and tied for top interrupts.

Oh man, I had a pretty good day yesterday. I had just recently got my Highmountain Monk to 110, then finished up his class campaign and got the "Finished all 12 classes campaigns" achievement, kinda sucks that theres no reward for it, but it still feels real good to accomplish that goal. Finished the Legionfall chain after that to unlock his Monk Mount, which is great. While running around waiting for the 8 hour mission to finish on my monk, I got another legendary drop for my Arms Warrior, the shoulders which give you 3 charges of heroic leap. With those shoulders it made the Arms Challenge tower much much much easier, and I was able to get my challenge skin for my Arms warrior too. Suuuuper hyped about that one. While I was running around on my arms warrior I finished a few more WQs, and some order hall missions, and got Exalted with Argussian Reach and unlocked Void Elves too.
So much stuff knocked out, made a real dent in the goals i've set for myself. Im up to like 6 legendaries now on my Warrior, its getting a bit crazy. I wish the luck would spread to a bit more of my characters, but I guess it makes sense with me mainly doing WQs on the warrior.

Had 3 hours of free time and mage tower was up, so I finally got around to doing the Holy one. I hate holy spec and have played it for all of like 1 hour (didn't even have a WA and my bars are hidden, so had to have a mental tally on CDs cause lazy) but its the only "healer" I had to try the challenge with. It was a really fun challenge outside of the healing of the spirits part. Only because of the stupid LOS they start in. I went blind until that part because I figured when I finally got it I wanted to know how to finish.
Whole thing became a lot easier when I realized I could use Sephuz because I was stunning guys all the time. Even the final boss could be stunned.
Yeah, opening the final encounter of the Healing Challenge with a stun gives you enough time to set up positioning and get some HoTs running on your guys.

It seems like a feature more for current player rather than something to entice a returning player or a new player to jump in on at the next expansion. If i want to roll a dark iron dwarf or void elf or whatever, the fuck i want to roll another character just to bust out the rep.
Yeah, opening the final encounter of the Healing Challenge with a stun gives you enough time to set up positioning and get some HoTs running on your guys.
I used it to lay enough damage into him that he was well under 3/4 health before he even did his first leap.
Biggest issue I had is I was using binding heal to make it easier and I kept healing myself too much. So I started trying to sit in the goo and almost got myself killed. But by the time I recovered he was almost dead so I just nuked him.
Priest is my main so even thought the challenge is still hard with gear, I am 965 with a solid setup of trinkets and legos so I could get through a lot of shit with just raw dps.

Got a legendary on the same day I boosted my DK to 110. Then I was all excited to get the free one from doing Argus. Got a nice LFR right at him with 3 determination that one shot the fight. Then remembered you can't equip 2 legos off the bat
I really wanted to do M+ on the DK and I got the best lego for it, so good luck to that. I also wanted to tank and the Lego works for that too (its for unholy but actually might be better for blood, go figure).
So good day for that alt.

I've been out of the loop for a couple expansions now but I just saw a couple videos uploaded by Blizzard officially for the Legion expansion conclusion (Horde & Alliance perspective).
The Goblins are digging up Sargeras' sword I guess? Is it explained yet what is going on or no?

they're digging up azerite, a mineral erupting out of the ground following sargeras stabbing the world. the next expansion is the result of a fight over azerite resources. also you're going to put azerite into your neck to power it up
