A Possible Spyware/Virus problem?

A couple of months ago my computer started to do something very annoying. Now when ever I start playing WOW, the computer will minimize the window that WOW is being displayed on. It will then bring up an Internet Explorer window and show some website ad. Sometimes it will bring up an error window that says, "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly."

I've tried spyware such as AdAware SE Personal and did a virus scan with Norton and AVG, but haven't found anything. Do any of you know what might be causing this?

That is almost certainly malware, and it's probably an active autorunning process. Get yourself Process Explorer and Autoruns from http://www.sysinternals.com. These will repectively give you all the details on running processes and all autorunning applications. Kill whatever doesn't look kosher.
