Dreadnaught in his map guide from like ... 2+ years ago now called it "the least balanced map in the world" and "actually cancer" and he was 100% correct and literally nothing about the map has changed since then.
So, so amazing. Just got paired with a 4man premade. We lost top fort and keep on a 2 lane map to Samuro because none of them would defend, or even rotate, up to the lane. And I couldn't because I was on Deckard F. Cain.
He's super strong, but no damage CC healers are such total garbage to play in QM. Only one more game to 5 then I'll never have to touch him in a rando QM game again.
Yeah, Cain is strong and fun to play but because of the type of support he is, he's low impact in everything but supporting his team. He's like Morales in that respect. It can be incredibly frustrating when you have to depend on your teammates for everything and all you can really do is keep them alive and CC the fuck out of people and hope they take advantage of that.
On the fun side I absolutely shutdown an enemy Butcher with Kanai's Cube (lvl 7 talent, W that claims to be Horadric Cube makes targets do 30% less damage for 4 seconds). Just waited till he went in, Cubed him and his diving budies, spammed healing at the target and then rooted the lot of them. Just completely dominated their dive.

I mean, it's not actually cancer because cancer is a horrible disease that kills people and destroys lives. This is a video game. A part of a video game that you think is less fun than other parts of the video game. So a few degrees of separation there

It's a quote, hence the quotation marks. Cancer is also a word for something perceived to be bad/evil/destructive/etc, especially something that spreads.
BHB remains a terrible map overall with one of the worst snowballs in the game as long as you play it correctly.

Cain combos really well with Zarya. I've been topping damage charts. Tanked damage charts. And shielding charts.
I write you a story

Had a great time playing last night.
So Chromie was free. I decided since I despise playing against her so much, I'd give her a try. Wow, hitting those shots wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I will say that I didn't feel as in control of a fight as I do with Jaina. With Chromie I felt like I was just tossing damage in a general area. And that damage is massive and safe, but kind of boring in the end.
But I will fully admit, killing running enemies with a dragon's breath from downtown is pretty freakin' awesome.

Ya she's basically chucking grenades almost mindlessly that do a ton of damage.
It's pretty easy to top the damage charts with her as long as you have some kind of a front-line and/or support. The amount of damage she can do easily outlasts most support's ability to heal it up and they just can't keep up.
Stealth heroes can ruin her day on open maps, though.
He fits into the sustain healer with CC niche so he's probably playable in the kind of situations where you'd play Malfurion or Stukov. Which is good in one way because that's a niche that can work with a wide range of teams but bad because he's competing with the best 2 supports for playtime. His healing output isn't horrible to start with and gets much better post 4 and 13 talent tiers. I'd say he's somewhere between Malf and Stukov when it comes to healing output.
CC-wise, his slow is very easy to land and it's not difficult to root a target with a boosted slow + scroll. Even if they don't get rooted, they have to book it to get out of the triangle so they can't do very much else in the meantime. The triangle targeting effect is also rather difficult to see in team fights so you can usually get a massive root if you just target the clump of enemies during a fight. I think Cain's CC is a good setup kind of CC with his slow making it easier for the rest of your teammates to land followup which is different from Malf/Stukov CC which is more of a followup CC.
He continues the tradition of being another hero with a mana bar that doesn't really mean anything. You won't run out of mana unless you make a effort to spam your W and E on CD and I wish blizzard would stop making heroes like that. If you're going to add resource management, make the resource management actually meaningful.
Loreado is the good ult, Stay a while and listen is horrible. If you could cancel it, it might be worthwhile but you can't afford to stun yourself for 3 seconds in a team fight as a support with low HP and no escapes. What usually happens is that you get 1-2 seconds of sleep and then they wake up and murder you while you're still talking just as everyone who played D1 wished they could.
Concluding thoughts: Cain doesn't seem OP which is rough as he's competing with two supports who are OP. I expect his niche to be in wombo-combo teams where you can use his CC to setup kills for the rest of your team while he provides sustain healing.
I disagree on mana. You can easily blow through your mana early game with heals and roots. He's not mana starved but you definitely need to B every few minutes at the start to keep your mana full.

We've had this discussion before. You jumping all over other people's shit for using a word you don't like is cancerous. I'm only being slightly facetious - I'm pretty sure if that word was used instead of cancer than you wouldn't notice or would feel less open to criticize.
IIRC the last time we talked about this you couldn't justify banning the metaphor beyond "it feels bad". Which is not an inherent justification for literally attempting to ban speech.
If you have a problem then report and let a mod deal with it.

I thought it was a simple ask in this community to not use words that are hurtful. I feel like I should have the right to ask that of us here, it is a friendly request from me as we've all spent many hours spending time with each other (here and on HotS). I don't feel like I was being aggressive in any of my posts on this topic.
I don't think using that or similar words is against the rules, you don't have to stop and I wasn't planning on reporting any of these posts. I'm going to continue to ask people not do that when I notice it, unless that is against the rules that I've missed and you would like to report me. It doesn't come up often, I don't think it derails the thread in any way

I, too, do not think it is a reportable offense, and will continue to ask that you not do that sort of thing here when you could very well put it in PMs or ignore it and move on.
Have faith! Chen and Murky will both make a glorious comeback!
I hadn't even thought of the animations being a problem like Horsepants points out. That's a good point, probably not too hard to change and try out either.
Yeah, I think Chen's problem remains that as the game has moved forward, there's more and more stuns and displacements available which automatically make him less viable.
He's also always had a real feast-or-famine problem with his design and counters or lack-there-of to it.
Horsepants brings up a good point with regards to animation speed though. I never noticed it was actually that slow until he pointed it out, cause like yeah, damn.
That alone wouldn't be enough, but it'd help a lil' bit.
I haven't played Chen in a good while, but one thing that always fucked me up is completing the Keg Toss quest seemed to change the delay on the barrel landing (i.e., increased it).
Officially the unluckiest CCG player ever.

They certainly could have! Like I said, I haven't played Chen in a while.
Even still, having an AoE ability go from (nearly) instant to delayed projectile past some fuzzy range threshold is the sort of QoL crap that Chen suffers from.
