Is there a PA sea of thieves discord? I'd like to try some seafairing.
Not that I know of but I'm sure we can use the PA discord and play some SoT. What sure you playing on?
I logged on tonight to solo sloop and try some world events. Did an ashen winds and then my friend logged on to get some easy gold before dinner. I then went to do the skeleton fleet event and my friend stayed on to do it with me.
We got to the event and another sloop was already doing it so we tried to alliance up with them to do it together but they decided to shoot at us instead. We ended up sinking them and one of then managed to back spawn before the ship sunk and 1v2ed us Pretty easily as the skeleton ship hammered us and we were sinking. A Galleon rolled up, allied with us and helped us fight the enemy player but we still sunk. Spawned really close though so I took the ship back and the Galleon and us finished the event and sunk the other sloop one more time because they came back. The Galleon had us raise reapers and then gave us a bunch of loot and we got to reaper 4.
We sailed to dagger tooth to sell the barnacle chests to gold hoarders for the commendation and then sailed back to reapers to sell the rest of the loot. Got krakened and found some loot on reapers and we got to reaper 5. As we were selling the other sloop rolled up on us to Do a keg play but I killed one of them before they could keg us so we only got hit by one. Then they spawned back on their ship and camped the inside of the reaper tent after we had nothing else to sell so I ran and stole their ship and rammed it into reapers and sailed away with it but they ended up scuttling. Last we saw of them.
After that we decided to head to the fort of fortune that spawned that our Galleon allies were going to but they finished it so we stopped at plunder to debate whether we try to steal the chest of fortune or not and ended up not doing it. We also saw they got another solo sloop in the alliance and that person recruited someone else which gave us 8 people.
So we sailed after the Galleon and asked if they wanted to do glitterbeard and they were very down. We separated and each chased down one of the sloops in the alliance and asked if they were down and they were and we got the glitterbeard commendation tonight.
Also saw 5 megs spawn.
Tl;dr exciting night of pvp and world events topped off with the glitterbeard commendation.

Made over a million gold today during community weekend. Didn't play at all yesterday. Also hit 100 renown so I have the full jellyfish ship cosmetic now.

Yea, the jellyfish set definitely isn't their best set they've put out but I usually just look at it as I could spend $10 in worse ways and I get like 500 Ancient coins from the pass.
Tonight was pretty fun.
My friend and I took a sloop out and did found a red and gold reaper chest sitting at reapers but they were bugged and couldn't be grabbed.
We did the skeleton fleet right by and another sloop went by for we assumed the same reason, those two reaper chests but then they raised reapers and hourglass and came after us. We ran from them until we found a Galleon and decided to try our luck to see if the Galleon would help us or sink us and we got lucky cause they helped us.
Then we did an ashen winds and a ghost fleet, a treasury cause we found a coral message in a bottle and then my friend felt like causing mayhem before we logged off and he wanted to use a wraith ball we got so we went and sunk a parked brig at Kraken's fall and they got spawned all the way on the other side of the map cause we continued our hunt for prey out west and saw the same brig.
We wanted to give them a chance at revenge so we chased them and got into a naval battle that we ended up winning and then went and sold the loot from the brig and logged off.
My friends can get pretty bloodthirsty, especially when a wraith ball is in play.

Actually did the math, the season 9 pass pays for itself. Its 250 for the free and another 750 coins if you buy it. So I ended up getting it.

Had a pretty good brig session. Got rank 5 gold hoarders and did a skeleton fleet and then we ran reapers and did a regular skeleton fort. Allianced up with another crew who were also reapers. Grabbed a red reaper chest.
We went and chased down a sloop that did the ashen winds we wanted to do and they got to golden sands before we could catch them but there was another sloop there that sunk them, took the loot and then started running from us. Eventually they server hopped through the arch portal and dropped all the loot. Not sure they knew they lost all the loot if they hop servers.
Then we went and did another ashen winds and went to sell. Past a sloop that was just sitting in the middle of the water a decent distance from reapers. Turns out they were camping reapers and ambushed us with a keg. We recovered, killed them, sold all the valuable loot and started to fight. At the same time this was all happening another sloop was fighting our allies on the other side of reapers. We spent about 20 minutes fighting until they got our mast down and then anchored us. They were better at in person combat, both double gunning. We ended up sinking.
Pretty successful session for making gold. Not so successful for PvP.

Monkey Island just dropped today. Been looking forward to sailing the seas again, been a while since I've played since I completed the season pass so quickly.
I've only played the tutorial quite a while ago. But having just finished return to monkey Island, I'm curious if I can just jump right into the MI content, ir do I need run the main game first?

You can jump right into the Monkey Island tall tale. Select Monkey Island when choosing how to start your adventure in the main menu and the game will spawn you right next to Capsize Charters which is where you need to go to start the tall tales for Monkey Island.
The Journey to Melee Island is the first tall tale and then the second tall tale which just came out today is The Quest for Guy Brush.

Season 10 starts October 19th and comes with guilds, then in November we get a new world event voyage, and in December comes what they are calling Safer Seas which is private worlds.

wow with safer seas I might play this again even though I am 75 in merchants and gold alliance just because I can invite friends without worrying about them being griefed

Well judging by the traffic here, there might not be enough active piracy to warrant its own guild. However, I have a guild that is some Enforcers, some SA folks and some IRL friends. It's almost Level 20 now. I can't make any promises on engagement since some folks are PC on Discord and some are XBL only, but the more the merrier I say! I'm an old EVE vet and PA and SA players historically get along very well.

So played a bit over the weekend and while doing a skeleton fleet (a normal one) a brig came up on us and engages. They must have been new because their mics were open and they were also on discord or something. It was kind of hilarious. We outlasted them and eventually sank them. The last one reporting back, over open mic, "I'm behind their ship"... turn around, snipe. Thanks for telling me man.

If nothing else, being able to walk on harpoon lines has made selling loot so much easier. Feels so much better than having to keep jumping into the water while unloading if you didn't manage to park close enough to the docks.

It popped up very briefly, and then vanished, and we weren't able to find it again after dealing with the kraken.
But I am fairly certain it was the Ghost.
