F1 2015 is a bit bare-bones in some ways, with no career mode and a general lack of variation. However, it's pretty (it's the first of the series on the X1/PS4 generation), and the racing is still very good. Absolutely worth the low, low price of free!

Moderately on topic: do you happen to know of the guy -- from a motorsports racing perspective -- who was recently indicted/convicted for owning a payday loan company? Any thoughts on him (from a racing perspective)?

I'm afraid that story must have passed me by. Someone in the F1 thread may well know, though.
Anyone want the Seasons Pass for Wolfenstein II. It was on sale on Humble Bundle and I didn't realize I already had it. Can't return it, so first person to PM me can have it.

How do you buy a game you already own witout realizing it?

Crystal Dynamics has offered an official statement about the cancellation of these remasters.
“While we always welcome passion and excitement for the Tomb Raider franchise, the remasters in question were initiated and advertised without seeking approval. As such, they were never officially sanctioned. Ensuring fans receive high quality gaming experiences is at the heart of our mission as a company, which requires all projects to go through proper channels. We are thrilled about the future of Tomb Raider, and cannot thank fans enough for their continued support and excitement for the brand.”

Jesus I cannot stand videogame journalism.
These were not remasters. The company who produced the ports of the classic Tomb Raider games for mobile devices said that they wanted to bring their new engine to the PC as a free mod for the currently existing Steam versions. Games "journalists" didn't understand what that actually meant and blasted the internet with an "announcement" about Tomb Raider "remasters" because they are a coven of idiots.
It would be like if the team behind GZDoom said they wanted to add their sourceport to Steam so players could download it via the Workshop, and Kotaku/IGN/et al suddenly started announcing a Doom remaster.

So I was sad drooling over the Afterparty trailer in chat and wooing is me about comparing myself to real professionals, when @Pixelated Pixie dropped in and declared nah.
Then @EvmaAlsar held up a mirror that was a little too real.
Thanks Pinky and Evma. These look rad.
My current motivational speaker is sending you both a cease and desist letter.
You could complain to them in a vociferous and drawn out manner about their deficiency. Then it would be a VAG Rant.
My neighbor is a midget who tends to ramble a lot.
He's a vague runt.
My boss used to work for a Virginia municipality. He said he was over worked and underpaid which is why he moved up here. He was sick of being a VA grunt.
Elder Scrolls Online free to play for five days. I'm interested, but jesus, 85Gb? I imagine there are still people who need more than five days to download that.
I've been trying to get my husband to at least TRY a new MMO that we can play together for years (ever since CoX died and TOR got dull). And he tried to weasel out of trying this one. "Oh, I guess I'll try it if my laptop can run it." says he, fully expecting his several year old laptop wouldn't meet the minimum specs.
Well jokes on him! Despite being older, it not only meets the minimum specs, it meets the recommended specs!
So now he has to at least try the game. Fingers crossed he at least doesn't hate it so we can play something together again.
Before following any advice, opinions, or thoughts I may have expressed in the above post, be warned: I found Keven Costners "Waterworld" to be a very entertaining film.
I can't pop a cherry but shut up, TSR will come back.
I miss TSR...
Also Sonic Mania looks awesome, I might have to grab that myself.
I'm looking for a game suggestion to play through with my daughter. She's 4 going on 5 in April and has REALLY taken to Shadow of the Colossus. I think it's because it's a bit like a fairy tale, and can also be played in bite size chunks. She loves seeing the next colossus, and gives them names. She's picked up that for my "wife" to get better I need to beat the big creatures, but that it's also sad and nasty that I'm beating them. Anyway, we're very near the end (two to go) so I need something else.
I mean, I could go with the obvious choices of Ico or Last Guardian for the similar visual styles and themes but given I've now got my lovely new PC I'd like to get something for that.
I was thinking of Ni No Kuni 2 given the gorgeous animated art style, but I don't know how suited it is to 30 minute play throughs, I'd like her to feel that we'd achieved something at the end of each session and not just grinded up some numbers. Any suggestions?

Submerged has that fairytale style to it and the little I played of it lent it a whimsical sense.

I think she'd enjoy TLG, mainly for Trico. Something that would flex a new PC and also be appropriate for a 4-5 year old to appreciate/get involved in is actually a surprisingly tall order, but I think she'd enjoy A Hat in Time or possibly Yooka-Laylee.
For something more obscure you can take a look at Alwa's Awakening or Mystik Belle. (note that they're metroidvanias so platforming is required)

I bet Bery might be a good person to make a few recommendations as well.
I wouldn't mind hearing a few ideas for myself- my niece is starting to get interested in the games I'm playing, so having a few on hand that would be good to play with her would be a welcome idea.

If you like it but want more to really dig into, 2016 and 2017 eclipse it. Conveniently, they're all on sale on Steam right now and the glorious F1 2017 is having a free weekend as well as 70% off.
Also we have a general F1 (and other motorsport) thread over in D&D if anyone gets the bug - this year's season starts this weekend!
