I am horrible at this game. Also, this game has become a chore. is there any way for me to quit because I really don't wanna play this anymore?

    113. A player always has the option to forfeit the game rather than continue to play or incur a game penalty. No penalty worse than losing, in the judgment of the player to incur it, may be imposed.

    Oh man.

Games where that rule is made mutable, and then amended...those are the best kind.

One anthro grad student who played live with me once had to wash all of our cars when she quit.

We went to a car wash, and lined them up one Saturday in late April.

Nap, when you've played this in the past, do you do it face-to-face? How do you set it up?

Yeah, I think it is one of those games where you have to play face-to-face.

You have set gaming sessions, like an RPG group.

I have usually done once every two weeks.

You use more or less the same ruleset that we used this time.

At each meeting, you do four or five propositions. There is debate and revision time. Etcetera.

    I have no idea...

    ek, look down for proposition

I wasn't sure, when I do this, can I still propose other stuff that has to do with mutable rules? I mean, essentially, can I propose to amend every mutable rule there is? (I don't want to do this, but there's more things I want to put on this prop).

I think all you can do is transmute the rule in your turn.

I am all in favor of alternate win conditions, though.

Good luck with the pink stuff, too. I stopped doing it outside of the nomic thread partly because I could but also partly because I fucking forgot one time. Luckily I got in under the wire on that one.

I wasn't sure how to interpret this:

    103. A rule-change is any of the following: (1) the enactment, repeal, or amendment of a mutable rule; (2) the enactment, repeal, or amendment of an amendment of a mutable rule; or (3) the transmutation of an immutable rule into a mutable rule or vice versa.
(Note: This definition implies that, at least initially, all new rules are mutable; immutable rules, as long as they are immutable, may not be amended or repealed; mutable rules, as long as they are mutable, may be amended or repealed; any rule of any status may be transmuted; no rule is absolutely immune to change.

It doesn't say you can't do all three things with one proposition.

Well, I'll just make the proposal now, and if it doesn't work then I guess it doesn't matter.

    PROP 323 BELOW

Well, that's it, I'm just trying to do something. I need unanimity to make this pass, so if I don't get it I'll remove the transmutation from the proposition.

You can't do all of it at once (at least in part), because you only get one turn, and your proposition all takes place at the same time. Meaning that the amendment and transmutation go off at the same time. Since you can't amend an immutable rule, it would fail.

This is just one reason why you can't.

I'm not amending the immutable rule, I'm amending other rules.

also I don't see why changing all that is against the rules. He's not changing an immutable rule other than making it mutable

I'd vote for this, but you just can't do all that at once. I've always been of the opinion that only one transmutation, amendment or completely new rule may be voted on at any one time.

And at any rate, nap's right, passing that all within the same rule is illegal.

I think what nap meant is that amending rule 208 in that fashion is not allowed by rule 112. Transmuting rule 112 does not make it legal to amend 208 - you still have to amend 112.

I just re-read 112 a few times and I think you're close to being legal with what you're proposing anyway, regardless of 112. What causes the problem is saying people can't win before the end of the third circuit. 112 says "The state of affairs that constitutes winning may not be altered from achieving n points to any other state of affairs." Saying that you have to achieve n points after circuit three is illegal. It says you can change n, though, so you can just straight up increase the winning total to 300 right now if you want without any conflict. And I'd probably vote for something like that.

I don't like getting rid of 212, though. Not sure I can give you my votes with that part in there. Maybe.
