Ended up awake at 3am this morning with insomnia, bought and downloaded Dragon Quest Builders and started playing in about 15 minutes. Its pretty cool!
Only henky bit (at least, so far as I have gotten) is that you can't plan trees/crops outside your tiny starting Square.

Eurogamer say's that Bandai Namco Studios Singapore is the studio working on Metroid Prime 4:
This studio houses some former LucasArts Singapore staff who previously worked on, among other things, the ambitious cancelled Star Wars 1313.
also
One staff member in particular, a lead designer, described themselves as working on an "unannounced IP (first person shooter/adventure exclusive to the Nintendo Switch)". This staff member also listed themselves as overseeing work on an exclusive Ridge Racer 8 for Switch, too - something Eurogamer has yet to also verify.
for RIIIIIIIIDGE RACER! to not be a launch game is sacrilege.
Got my preorder of DQ Builders a day early so spent last night beelining through the demo stuff I experienced before. Wow the building and crafting stuff busts wide open after demo portion.

Pippa implicitly feels the one guy is worthwhile to our cause because of his glorious beard.
Mercenary Kings wouldn't let me play it in multiplayer without creating extra profiles on the Switch for everyone who wanted to play, presumably because they'd need their own save data. Up to now I've just had the one profile. So we created extras so we could play it and gave it a shot and it was ok, a little complicated off the bat for what we wanted to play at the time but yeah.
Then I deleted those extra profiles.
However now the Switch always asks which profile wants to do literally any action, opening a game, opening the shop, but there's only one profile on the Switch.
Did creating extras permanently curse my Switch to think there are several users now?
In the settings, there is an option to skip the selection screen. It probably got turned off once you created the extra users.
I hope there's some kind of Joycon 2.0 or Joycon XL re-design in the near-ish future. I hate those tiny shoulder buttons, and the more I play Skyrim and Celeste (especially Celeste) my hatred for those subpar analog sticks grows exponentially...
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
Yeah I had it preloaded and I woke my daughter up this morning and told her to check that it was working. She'll get to play it after school today but I already warned that once I get home from work it is mine.

I found this a little after I posted, thanks! Probably good for others to know too. I don't think you can have that option turned on once you have more than one profile.

By and large the shoulder buttons don't bother me and neither did the analog sticks, though they are certainly nicer on the pro controller.
My main complaints about the joy cons are the shoulder buttons (too small when holding sideways, too mushy if you're using the strap) and the proximity of the analog stick to the buttons. If you hold it like I do (thumb over Y and I've found it's certainly possible to move and click the stick of the right joy con, at least when it is on the grip.

Plants crops that grow in multiple seasons and/or stick around after the first harvest so you don't have to plan quite so many crop rotations, freeing up more time for work.

Can someone tell me why Steamworld Dig 2 gets the praise it does? It looks interesting.
Funky theme and art style.
Tight platforming controls.
Compulsive dig and upgrade gameplay loop.
Generally a good time!
The movement mechanics feel great, it’s challenging without being punishing, the story is light but the world building is extremely charming, and that hometown theme can get it.
I really like the Steamworld games. They understand the value of knowing when to quit instead of dragging things out.

Not really. Or at least not for me. I think they're just minor fixes. The big one I think was audio cutting out?
I had the audio cutout bug happen on pretty much every level at least once. It seems fairly variable for people on what bugs they hit and how often, from what I've been reading.

This is right and correct.
Anyway, that's a damn good sign for Prime 4, if true.
So, uh. What's Retro working on?
Funky new things, to be sure.

I am still hoping for new IP out of Retro. That or a new StarTropics as a 3D action adventure somewhere along the lines between Zelda and Tomb Raider.

Fixed that for ya.
Or tortillas in the kitchen.
Or money in the shipping container.
So many uses.

So how about miniaturized game cases that still hold the game?
You can even put them on a keychain!
648 yen each, which is roughly 5 dollars

Anyway, the presentation of the trailer (with the curtains and all that jazz) just makes me want Puppeteer on the Switch.
Which is actually completely impossible, because that's an in-house Sony game. I might as well ask for Gravity Rush.
?
Is there new news? I know that one fangame (a 3D air-combat fighting game sort of thing) got released on the Switch.
