Was going to pick up Penny-Punching Princess, but $40 seems kinda high for it...
Ah snap it's $40? Yowzers, yeah think I will pass for now.
You bunch of Penny-Pinching Princesses!
Man, that is *such* a weird game. In case anyone wants to watch some raw gameplay, I streamed it here for about a hour-and-a-half or so. (Switched to Splatoon for the second half of the stream.) Enough to get to the second chapter.
I... actually kinda dig the core gameplay loop? Running around frantically trying to mash things into your magic calculator so that you can bribe a buzz-saw trap so it'll plow through a massive pack of enemies is actually super fun.
The first boss is madness, and there's a bit of a difficulty spike in there.
I'm actually kind of curious now to what other functions the calculator has.

Slight cross-post from the retro console/games thread, but thought this might be a good place to ask (click through for more details), but I'll just post here a simple question:
Before Nintendo Land, does anyone remember any Nintendo systems/peripherals that came packed with a game that had its own box that would fit with the rest on a shelf?
Stuff like the little cardboard sleeve for Wii Sports doesn't count, I mean a regular or slightly-modified retail box -- like SEGA did with their Genesis pack-ins, like Altered Beast and Sonic.
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!

With all the gloom and doom of third-party docks, what do you guys do for charging when you're away from home (and dock)? I have yet to take my Switch out and about, but I don't want to brick it with a Non-tendo brand cord or whatever.

edit 2 with a BIG CAVIAT - I only just now saw your "and dock" requirement. I wouldn't dare use any of the above with the dock. I'd only use the nintendo charger with that due to the middleware circuit board in between the console and the power supply.
I usually just grab the stock charger that came with it.
I would love a 90° USB-C plug cable though so I don't have to be as concerned with bending the cord while playing and plugged in.
Has anyone here played RBI baseball and have opinions on it? Switch's baseball library seems pretty sparse and that was the only one i'd consider going in on. (Disappointed by lack of Mario Baseball)
What Nintendo should do is port the best baseball game around, Winnie the Pooh Home Run Derby, to Switch.

Y’know if I can’t get my Star Fox idea I’d also settle for Phantasy Star Fox Online.
On a more serious note, man I so want Nintendo to money hat the localization of PSO2 for the Switch.
Edit- or if a western release is out of the question Sega should do what Cygames did for Granblue Fantasy and just happen to have an English language option while also just happen to not block international IP addresses.

Honestly, Kid Icarus was a very good railshooter/action game. I loved Lylat Wars, it was one of my childhood-defining games and I can still recite half the game's script by memory, but I'm pretty sure I'd prefer another KIU to a new Starfox. Sorry, but Pit and Palutena's banter is just so much better than the Starfox team, much as I like them.
I am really excited about which projects the internet will dream up with garage mode! I think it will add a tremendous amount of value to the Labo kits.

I got a launch day Wii, Wii sports was in a proper case.
Zelda four swords on GameCube was packaged with the GBA link cable, the game was in a standard GC case.

I got the Wii at launch and Wii Sports just came in a cardboard sleeve for me. I had to make my own case.
Picked up the Fire Emblem Warriors season pass last night because why not. Tharja is so frickin badass.
I do wish you could turn off the whole weapon triangle thing and play it like a regular Warriors game, though. Like, I appreciate how they merge the source material into the warriors formula, but It kinda sucks trying to level up a character when the map you're playing is full of enemies they're weak against. The archer characters are just always so screwed =/
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
I mean, I'm under no illusions as to why she's popular, but it's a little funny seeing her get pushed so much in spinoffs when she was no more or less than another non-Lord, non-Tactician party member in Awakening itself.

She's even an enemy-recruit, so if a player is unfamiliar with the Fire Emblem formula there's a good chance that they'll kill her and move on. (Of course, Gaius is the same and he's also one of the more popular Awakening non-lords).
In general, I don't have a strong opinion one way or another on Tharja. A lot of her popularity is probably because of her design, which I get. I dig her look too. In the context of FE Warriors, though... HOO! Maybe it's because of my relatively low usage of mage characters, but goddamn can she wreck face. I also haven't run into any units she's super weak against yet, so that's fun too.

Minerva's skill let's your characters ignore weaknesses, and when your characters get strong enough they can basically ignore all that stuff because they kill so fast.

US had the sleeve but I think all other regions (or most?) had a case.
I'm in the US and had a case, buuuut I'm close enough to Canada that any physical copies of games I buy from a brick and mortar shop will have English and French on it. If I buy from say Amazon it'll likely just be in English.
So my situation may not be accurate for the rest of the nation.

I just use my Pixel usb-c. I have it with me any time I'm traveling anyway.
So... I have a Pixel, and I'd obviously prefer not to have to travel with yet another charger, but I'm scared to do this because of all of the "THIRD PARTY DOCK BORKED MY SWITCH" horror stories. Am I good to use my Pixel USB-C charging cable with my Switch?
Note: Answers are appreciated but will be ignored, and I will continue not to do so out of fear

I have never not used a Pixel charger and there's been no incidents. It charges the system super fast.

It's an easter egg thing - there's an autoscroller level a ways in but using a specific outfit lets you play as an Arwing instead of the normal way.

I've had zero issues thus far charging it using an anker and weirdo chinese brand but tested fine (except the included cable is questionable) USB-PD chargers and quality cables (apple 6ft usb-c 2.0 cable and a cable matters cable that's also okay but out of print), as well as an anker external USB-C battery pack using the same cables above.

I too bought a second official AC charger. They run around $25 and I don't have to worry.
