I know it's already discussed to death, but I just want a full game on cart. I'm not sure how to distinctly inform them of that with my wallet vote instead of them thinking there's no audience for big games on Switch.

Wolfenstein 2 on Switch will take up 13.7 gigs of space:

You should do whatever works best for you. While I understand wanting to send the right message, big games or not the message should be that we have higher standards.
Y'know all the more power to them and I hope it performs well (software wise and sales wise), but AFAIK the game was a bit of a bomb/underperformer. Not sure if the audience is there.
Especially a sequel without the first one on the platform.
Y'know I played the first one and loved it, I was super excited for the sequel and then. . . I never bought the game. I couldn't even tell ya why and I'm only just now remembering that this game exists.
What the fuck happened?!
edit- Oh, it came out the same day as Mario and around the same time as a bunch of other high quality selections.

I'm just kinda shocked to learn Wolfenstein II underperformed... I thought it was one of last years biggest releases. It's a really good game too. The DLC is apparently shit, but the base game is great.

Yeah, it came out at a terrible time.
It had to contend with:
Super Mario Odyssey
Destiny 2
Shadow of Mordor
AssCreed Origins
A CoD game
Forza 7
Battlefront 2
And probably a host of others I am forgetting.
edit- Y'know what I did want to play it so I guess I may as well get it for the Switch.

I thought the story was interesting but the gameplay was just outright garbage. when you were getting shot at the UI made it extremely difficult to tell direction you were getting shot from, and you died super quick. I legit turned the game to the easiest difficulty setting to try to get through it because you then become more of a bullet sponge and have a better chance of figuring out which direction you were getting shot at.
My friend, how do you feel about Picross? Because the Switch has some fiiiine Picross.
e: im assuming anyway. Never met a Picross I didn't like.
I love me some Picross, but I've only played them (the 2D and 3D versions) on a DS or 3DS, where I had a stylus. Is the lack of a stylus on the Switch an issue for Picross S? The stylus controls where you use one hand to control what the stylus in the other hand is doing (painting in, X'ing out, etc) is just so perfect.
I believe Picross S has touch controls for handheld mode, though I find button controls fine for picross games too, and preferred them in Picross DS since you couldn't use touch controls on the larger puzzles without zooming in. I used touch exclusively in the 3DS games though since there was no zoom in those.

I still ended up giving up.
Yeah, definite PSA: unless you like dying over and over and over and over and over and over, play Wolfenstein II on easy. And even then easy isn't exactly a cakewalk.
That said, it's well worth playing. The game did a fantastic job examining the Nazi takeover of America, white complacency, motherhood, etc. etc. And yes, there's still plenty of shooting the absolute shit out of Nazis.
Oh, and there's a perfectly-done extended cameo from
an aging, senile Hitler.

I've been watching a lot of Man in the High Castle so I am primed for Wolf2.
I always wonder about these hardware exploits that get released and wonder why companies don't just brick systems that are hacked for piracy and offer a free replacement for a non-hackable updated version. I am sure they could detect which systems have been exploited since everything is online. So people whose systems get bricked because they want free games I would have no sympathy for. Now I know somebody is going to jump in right -> here <- and say "well what about homebrew' ... let's be real here homebrew for a lot of people is code for free games aka piracy. You've got to think that a company would want you to have a legal version of their products. So the cost of replacing a hacked system for a more secure updated version would be in their best interest. Let's see where this goes.
I think that sort of thing might actually be illegal, at least in some places. Might not be worth sorting out which ones can and cannot be bricked in such a case, especially with the more global marketplace we have in play now.

Wolf 2 was great. A very cathartic game where you not only get to fight nazis but also some kkk shitheels as well. And the final encounter was all kinds of satisfying

I'm having a lot of fun with South Park: The Wounded Turdcuttter right now. That's probably a good sign since I'm not that much of a South Park fan anymore, never played the first game and I haven't seen an episode in over a decade. The combat and story/jokes are good enough to stand on their own even if you're not a hardcore fan. It's definitely better than the N64 game that's for sure.

I think the writers for the RPGs have realized that they get the most hits with franchise jokes when they reference earlier seasons so you don't have to have kept up with the series to enjoy them. Certainly was that way with Stick of Truth.

My only Wolf 2 complaint was that there was not enough KKK murder.
This is only tangentially related to the Switch, but people should go google search for Masahiro Sakurai and look at the bio in the sidebar. Apparently he's trying out an interesting new look.

It's because of a Sakurai parody account that got a lot of likes, and Google's algorithms read it in a weird way.
I saw Death Road to Canada is now listed as releasing on May 15th, and thought I was going crazy. Looks like the devs decided to delay the console release of the game due to the recent event in Toronto. The content in the game is nothing similar to what was perpetrated by that human piece of shit, but they felt that it would be in bad taste to release a game called "Death Road to Canada" so soon after this tragedy.
That's only two days before Hyrule Warriors, but I'll still pick it up next month. Was going to get it anyway, and I respect their decision to push the release back even though it means it's now going up against a bigger release like Hyrule Warriors.

Have anyone played bleed or bleed 2? Looks like some nice contra-style platformer/shooter thinggy. Trying to choose between those and Shantae and pirates curse.

i have, and they're quite enjoyable for what they are. They are, though quite short. Well, at least one run through the base game is. i imagine if you're someone who goes through every difficulty setting, you can squeeze a bit more mileage out of them. Still, they're fun, the quirky humor hits more than misses, and the presentation is solid. i can't speak for Shantae, but i'm glad i got Bleed 1 & 2 again.
I'd pick Shantae over the Bleed games. Bleed is fun, but the joycons with their not great analog sticks and tiny sliver shoulder buttons aren't ideal for that type of game. Maybe if you play docked with a pro-controller.

My brother showed me a secret in Bayonetta in the first level to get 10,000 Halos in like 1 minute at the very start and now the shop has nothing left to buy because i farmed the crap out of it.
I regret nothing.
Also Bayonetta in the Link outfit is funny with the added sound effects

There's something wrong with the joycon analog sticks? I played through all the a and bsides in Celeste using the analog stick and had no issues.
They just don't feel very precise to me, like they have messed up deadzones or something. Stuff like aiming bows in Skyrim or Zelda are a hassle. Nintendo controllers haven't had good analog sticks since Gamecube/Wavebird, IMO.

The devs behind the rhythm game Deemo are considering possible Labo support for their game. They've released a tech demo of what that might look like:
Also, regarding that piano demo, I hope we get some piano rythym games that teach piano! The small amount of keys could be solved by putting two seperate piano labos next to each other for ambidextrous learning!

I think there are some guides going around on building a piano with double the amount of keys, so it should be possible.
I don't see why you couldn't build a full 88 key piano. Since it seems the dial on the side changes the octave in the small version all 88 notes should be available. The physical build and programming would need to be adjusted to remove the dial and probably require a few more joycons to watch for the additional key presses, but it should be possible.
