Be sure to sell em and the rest of your trade in items.
They're useless otherwise.
Yeah I always forget if they go into making something. I swear in Tri there was some kind of silver armor that used them but I'm pretty sure they stopped that since it was a dick move.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
I keep getting these wyverian tickets, I don't see them in my inventory. Where do they go?
Materials storage
Ahh! how do I see that?
I think the only way to see them is through the Sell Menu at the Item Box or Vendor. That includes trade-in items.

Pretty much all trade in items will have a bit in their description about being valuable but useless to hunters and also have trade in item noted at the end in yellow parenthesis.
You can find them in the materials tab when selling from your item box. They'll be the last items in that section after sorting the box.

One thing I think the game doesn't really drive home for new players is how important dung pods really are.
In past games it was a gigantic pain in the ass to do missions with more than one monster if they both caught you in the same area. Its abit easier now since zones are much bigger/wider and monster infighting is a thing but you use the dung pod on the interloper to get them to leave so you can focus on and only have to worry about one of them.
One or two shots will send them running after they realize they're fighting someone crazy enough to throw shit in their face with an arm mounted poop bow.
in some previous games golden eggs were used to craft +luck (better rewards/carves) gems for skills
so not all will be only good for selling
im going to keep 3-4 in my inventory and sell rest just to be safe
I dunno. Unlike the previous Monster Hunter I played, this one is pretty unambiguous about what is meant to be sold and what you should keep, right down to sorting sellable items at the far end of your item box. For a game that clearly wants to be as accessible as possible, I can't see them going "whoops. . . should've said those items marked Trade-In."
Female Bazel-armour looks like a pile of cookware.
Wait until you see the Nergigante set...
Looks like Alolan Dober. I guess Bazel-boots look neat, but the headpiece looks mangy without the mask.
The three square pegs with relief, the rondels, and the bipartite, undulant breastplate all piled on top of eachother within the frame of the upper arms are the pots and pans I'm talking about.
I'm up to five captures and tail cuts, five plates...no anj gem : (
Never capture if you are ruby hunting, the carve is the ruby bro. You only can get rubys from capturing if you've maxed the research on it/investigation rewards.

I had a good day monster-ing. Got my Dual Blades all the way up the Water tree to where I need Elder Dragon bones to get the final upgrade. Took out Pink Rathian a few times, enough to make a sweet hat, made my way into the Elderstream for the first time, found 2 of the 3 monsters (Toadlizard and RollyBombs) and put them both down despite their stunlocky bullshit (ugh) and quite a few carts.
Want to go and find the last guy but it looks like I need a "Cool Drink" to pass into the lava rooms safefly but in true MonHun style, it doesn't tell me what that is or where to get one. Came back to town to see if I had enough parts to make something out of the new monsters I just killed (I can't) and the Commander tells me there are now Elder Dragons all over the place so I can get my bones for my final weapon upgrade. Or at least the final upgrade currently visible.
Awesome!
ALRIGHT FINE I GOT AN AVATAR

Saw someone on another message board mention the idea of a corvid/crow monster and now thats all I want.
If you do a mission (not expedition) in the Elderstream there are Cool Drinks in the supply chest every time, and unlike EZ Rations and Field MedPacks, they don’t disappear after the mission.

soooo i did the full 50 minutee hr 49 kirin quest
and just tracked kirin entire time
i ended up with 9x elder dragon tempered quests (which need hr 50, so clear i need to finish kirin first)
think i might do another 50 min tracking grind to get another 7-10
then clear kirin and hopefully just doing the new tempered elders get me more
i saw some posts of people rushing thru the tempered kirin and only getting 1-2 quests, meaning they had to RNG grind tracks for more tempered elders
After staying up way too late last night trying to defeat Nerdy Ghandi, I finally managed to kill him and cut of his dang tail this afternoon without a single cart. His enraged/death bed divebomb spam is really annoying, but Vitality Mantle and the Cat-Shield for my Palico helped me survive long enough to get the last few hits in while Nerdy demolished his bedroom.
And dag, Dober gear gets two perks AND a gem slot? Geez.
So what's the deal with the blue tracks in the various zones? They don't seem to be filling up a meter when I collect them. This is post Nergi tracking.

p sure this isn't right. i just got a capture reward gem from a jay leno and i'm only like level 2 research on it.

Its a post "end" boss of the game. The tempered tracks people are pointing to above.

I could play a little more today. Farmed Legiana a couple extra times to get some armor pieces, and with them I managed to make myself a suit that doesn't look too horrible and gets me the legiana set bonus, divine blessing 2, and Evasion 2, as well as a smattering of minor stuff. This should last me until high rank, I think.
Also put my Palico in the most adorable astronaut suit. Meowrice is going to the moon.
I think the IG is officially not for me, though. I'm trying, but Lance, CB, and SnS give me much better results. I should consider making myself a LBG to have a ranged option, too, just in case (I always make a piercing gun in every MonHun game and put it in a glass case that reads (in case of Gravios or clone thereof, break glass" :P).
Just started playing on PS4 this morning. Love it. After watching a few videos prior to beginning, I figured I'd be using the Lance, because I tend toward defense / poke / counter-attacks pretty consistently in most games, but after playing around with everything, I found that I'm actually really keen on the Hammer. It's just such a beast. Also, it's surprisingly fast-hitting and mobile for such a large weapon.

As polar said they go into material storage I believe the melder uses them.

They were used to craft decorations. Luck ones.

Teostra was about that hilarity, it seems. Got me once with his stun flames? and a Capcomp near-death boss cheese explosion but victory.
He dropped his gem too, so... double yay.
gonna farm some elders and hopefully get some tempered investigations going
https://www.twitch.tv/frawrst/
Those can both be crafted at the melder if you do the weekly bounties for the ticket.
Right, I've only got the one ticket though....so I need at least one...
