Wild Arena starts tomorrow so end your runs by tonight to be safe. And there has been no mention of free tickets for auto-retired runs so make sure to not leave them hanging.
Edit: Well it looks like Wild Arena runs are live in Asia and reports that tickets are getting issued to X-2 decks. Maybe you do leave it be?

Starting on February 19 and lasting through March 11, the Arena draft will offer cards that are exclusive to Wild. Have an existing Arena run going? Be sure to finish it up before Wildfest begins – existing Arena runs will be retired automatically at the start of Wildfest. We’ll remind you that Wildfest is coming, so you have ample time to finish your runs before the fun commences.
No word on exact time.
Oh hey that's tomorrow. I haven't seen a reminder...
Drafted a warlock deck in arena to get to 2 losses to prepare for the wild arena switch. I got offered 8 rares and 6 epics, but the deck scored like 68 points because I was given so many bad choices. And of course no legendaries yet again.
I did get a Voidlord and a Cube, though. I wonder if I'll get to live the dream before I hit 2 losses.
5 games and never got to live the dream. The 2 losses were:
Mage topdecks Pyroblast just as I stabilize with taunts.
Paladin playing on curve and has Val'anyr.
knocking out some cubelock games in casual to clean up quests, and this paladin is just AFKing half the time, and the way my hand is clogging up with removal instead of dudes to close out the AFK is making it surprisingly difficult to win!
btw fun fact: if you have spiritsinger umbra out, and you play gul'dan, when you res a voidlord it will pause the resurrection, trigger umbra, and then resume rezzing demons
As RNG redemption for the wife's 12-win Arena run, her first game of Wild Arena saw her Shaman opponent play Unstable Evolution x5, then coin, Unstable Evolution again. So what's the big deal you ask? Well, she may have had a Fel Reaver on the board at the time.
18 milled cards later, she lost...badly.

A. Finished my final dungeon run with Priest. I was running with 3 spellstones and 3 Kel-Thuzads and it was really silly.
B. Had a Priest deck in arena that went 3-3, but those 3 wins, I must tell you, is because I kinda sorta not intentionally but eventually intentionally played it as a Weasel Priest deck. Which was a real joy when an opposing Warlock got out his skull and then never....never had any demons in his hand. Just these fucking weasels.
C. I've been laddering with my Cube Hunter (I'm using SecretKeepers instead of Nesting Rocs), and I've jumped from 15 to 12. Putting SecretKeepers in the deck has really improved my winrate. I'm 7-0 vs. Secret Mages so far.
Ugh..... should I craft the skull? That's all I'm missing...

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Bloodreaver Gul'dan the Wise?
"I thought not. It’s not a story the Priests would tell you. It’s a Mage legend. Bloodreaver Gul'dan was a Death Knight Warlock, so powerful and so wise he could use Dark Pact to influence the mana crystals to restore life… He had such a knowledge of the dank side, he could even copy his own Void Lords to keep from dying. "
"What happened to him?"
"He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he played a Secret Mage who sequenced his secrets as Potion of Polymorph followed by Burning Rune, and killed him through a sheep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself."
(yeah, I know, I'm ripping myself off, but I was coming here to post this lethal anyways.)

It's the best Legendary Weapon by far and unless something changes in regards to Doomguard/Voidlord it will be staple until it rotates.
DO IT.
IMO Aluneth is on par. The Skull works because it's in a very specific deck context. "Draw three extra cards a turn" is going to be really strong in any tempo deck. And while some versions of the various Warlock decks don't use Skull, every Secret Mage is jamming in Aluneth.

Meanwhile, even Deathwing doesn't want to touch the Dragon Soul.
If I cracked one, I would totally try to build a deck around it.
...but no way in hell I'll craft one right now
The issue I've seen with the ones I've run against is that the deck literally just does not function without it. The other legendary weapon decks have a separate gameplan even if they don't draw their one-of weapon, but spell priest has to spend all their spells to stay alive and then don't have any gas left (and therefore, no way to win) if it's in the bottom half.

Aluneth is strong, but the upcoming rotation brings uncertainty. Secrets Mage will effectively be dead because all the Secret synergy cards are rotating. I mean, maybe they'll print new Secret synergy cards, or maybe they'll print some good general use Tempo minions for a Tempo Mage deck to exist.
But we don't know.
What we do know is that Cubelock doesn't lose very much in the rotation (N'Zoth, Mistress of Mixtures) and thus will continue to be a strong deck in the rotation. Cubelock has the potential to get stronger as more sets are released as well.
But anyway, while I agree that Aluneth is also super good, Aluneth's viability is a product of the environment at the time. Is there a Tempo/Aggro Mage deck? If yes, Aluneth's great. If not, Aluneth isn't good.

I don’t think that it’s immensely useful to speculate this early.
For all that Mage is losing Valet and Runner, Warlock is losing Mistress of Mixtures, which is also huge. There are already (suboptimal) replacements for everything Secret Mage is losing. And while Cubelock could potentially get stronger, I think that it’s probably the most likely target for nerfs as well. And hate cards - Holy Crab!
Here’s a quick take on what Secret Mage could look like, even if it got absolutely nothing in the next set:
I theorycrafted a new Secret minion to start building a new type of Secret Mage:
The idea is that you are basically swapping your equipped Secret with another one from your deck. This has the benefit of making your opponent have to figure out what this new Secret might be, especially if they've already checked for 1-2 types already.
The body is great for just playing it out on turn 4 even without the Battlecry. The ability could backfire if you get the exact Secret you want in play and it swaps for one you don't want. Could also act as a Hail Mary to pull an Ice Block or something. Or allow you to take a useless Secret out of play (say an early Ice Block) and swap it for something more proactive. Given the randomness of the card though, it could simply pull the same Secret again.
Thoughts? Fun? Good? Bad?

Skull is a key card to cubelock. It's part of the win condition of the deck. As in, cubelock doesn't work without Skull.
It's a pretty good card in control lock (but not required). It gives the deck 3 cards to cheat out a voidlord, making the deck a little more consistent vs aggro. Often though, control lock doesn't want to play skull.
If cubelock gets nerfed (Doomguard goes hall of fame) skull goes from a card needed to make a strong combo deck work to a decent card.
However, Aluneth is a win condition for tempo mage. Tempo mage has pretty much always been a thing. It isn't played as often as other aggressive decks but it's always at least tier 3 and has been tier 1 throughout much of hearthstone's history.
Cubelock isn't going to be a top tier deck for the entire next expansion cycle. Tempo mage might. Aluneth is like DK Gul'dan. It's a straight up win con for an entire archetype and is going to be a key card for as long as its in standard.

tempo mage is really reliant on a bunch of cards that are rotating, especially with the corridor creeper nerf; it's possible that some new aggro mage will appear but their default stuff doesn't support it very well and not that much from knights/kobolds does either

Excuse me sir, have you heard the good news about Explosive Runes and Aluneth?
Secret Mage loses exactly two important cards (Kabal Crystal Runner and Medivh’s Valet). It won’t take much for it to remain meta-relevant. Above, I posted a theoretical “even if nothing new is good” decklist that should still be at least T2 IMO.
Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.
oh my brain had decided arcanologist was rotating, for some reason
also firelands portal, though I guess not every list runs that
I feel like tempo mage is like miracle rogue or face hunter, it's always going to be a thing. Sometimes not the best thing. But is going to be meta viable most of the time. Although, I would have at one point said that about control warrior too but blizzard finally killed the archetype.
