they announced they were removing the enrage keyword last week
...Why?
Edit: I'd look it up myself, but gaming sites are blocked at work.
A variety of soft reasons, mostly "we feel like it shouldn't be a keyword." They noted that there has to be a balance between keywords and card text (which is true), and upon reflection they determined that Enrage didn't make the cut.
Edit: Yeah, it's not a super common keyword, and removing the keyword doesn't really add clutter or lots of text.
Thinking about it more, the card works well with Starving Buzzard, Tundra Rhino (Now they have Charge and that changes shit quite a bit all of a sudden), Timber Wolf (Now you're repeat-summoning 3/2's for 2 mana each with Rush).
Then when you add Scavenging Hyena and Unleash the Hounds, you have constantly replaceable minions who suicide themselves into walls so that Hyena gets bigger and bigger.
I'm mostly F2P (I've spent maybe $30-40 on this game thus far) so I've got to get excited about the Commons and Epics and how they work with budget horseshit, guys.
Mastiff is very bad; redundant with Hounds, no synergy with the new (of two? jfc Blizz) leggo, no synergy with the last leggo, no synergy with spell, not a particularly good choice off Deathstalker.

I mean, if you combo it with a snowflipper, suddenly hunter can cast 3 frostbolts (that only target minions.) So I think it's pretty OK with Deathstalker.

Mastiff looks pretty good for aggro. Possible uses: Board refill, punch through taunts, charge up a hyena, trigger knife juggler.
I'm looking at it like living mana. One last chance to get the board back before you're out of cards about to get out valued by your opponent.
I wish it would have been 3 mana 3/1's so odd mana aggro hunter would be looking better.

Why the heck are y'all comparing Mastiff to Unleash? They don't serve the same purpose at all (also unleash is bad in most metas, although this one might be different because of Dudadin). If your opponent has, say, a Lyra, or a Fandral, or a Houndmaster Shaw--some sort of must-kill target--Unleash ain't gonna do jack. Matiff kills all of them. For six mana, sure, but Hunter is hurting for card-efficient single target removal, and this is actually super versatile since you can split the damage up as you like (in increments of two), or just play them out to flood the board with a bunch of cheap beasts.
Like, think of using old Force of Nature as a removal spell, except the treants don't die at end of turn if you don't trade them and also you can cast it for anywhere between 2 and 10 mana. That's pretty powerful.

I mean, Hunter needed a Rush Echo card. I feel like, yeah, that needed to happen. Just not sure about 2 mana 2/1.
It's really hard to look at this and Unleash the Hounds and say this is better. But maybe I'm looking at this wrong. I probably am.
Better against decks with a few big minions. Not mana-efficient, but usually with hunter I have too few cards instead of too little mana.
Right, and that's why I said I felt Hunter needed a Rush Echo card. This gives them more than one way to keep a decent hand size, and for that alone it's worth considering.
Crushing walls is 7 mana and will kill any minion regardless of butt size though...
Crushing walls is also an Epic and this is a Common, though. I mean, I hear what you're saying, but I've opened around 30-40 K&C packs and have zero Crushing Walls, whereas I'll probably have two of these dogs, or the 80 dust to craft them, from the free packs I'm getting before the release, alone.
I'm not sure that should be considered when trying to value cards. I'm sure it's not, actually. But for me that's definitely something I'm considering.
God, I keep forgetting that this Odd-Even Deck thing will be a mechanic in WW. I can't wait for that. It's limiting, which may be a little frustrating, but... I'm eager to just see what works and what doesn't.

I'm wondering if people start running Mindbreaker to just really fuck with everyone's curve if it becomes common.

There is no situation where you run Mindbreaker
If the new meta was (hypothetically, as I'm not sure it will take off at all) all-odd or all-even decks that upgrade Hero Powers, you wouldn't play a 3-mana 2/5 that shuts that shit down?

Why?
We already have evidence that mindbreaker isn't worth running: Raza priest was oppressive to the point that Raza got nerfed, and mindbreaker was nowhere to be seen.

They gave reasons.
Their reasons were stupid.
Something about the keyword not appearing on enough cards.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.

I think the keyword is attached to the card and needs to be played.

Echo requires played from hand, Rush can be from summoned.

Sure, but Crushing Walls can't also be 3 2/1s.
