I think it's just I have yet to have a scenario where Dantes gets to truly shine. Hoping the floor with two Rulers helps with that, because with the last one I kind of just had Heracles smash.
May want to lean on him for tomorrow, yeah. If you don't kill Amakusa by the time he NPs, you probably get blown up.
Should I just burn a seal right out the gate and start Dantes in the back line so he makes it to the last fight without a scratch?
Depends how you feel about Plugsuit usage vs having a Waver vs granting NP from Code instead. The issue is staging him because there's a beefy Rider on Wave 2. You might be able to econ by having him on the frontline from the start and getting some charge in on the first couple waves if you feel confident about killing it relatively quickly.
Dantes on his own with no ATK buffs isn't going to get the job done even with a Seal, especially if you get unlucky and he comes in only on the wave right before Amakusa's going to NP anyway, so you have to be careful if you were putting him in the back and not intending to swap him.
Don't forget you still have to wiffle bat through Jeanne even if you do get Amakusa down in time.
Man, Lancer/Assassin EXP Daily is so nice when someone on your friend's list also has a Void Shiki.
Nero + 2 Void Shikis with K-Scopes and the Mage's Association Mystic code is a near-guaranteed 3-turn clear.
I just wish friends lists were more reliable about putting units up. Altera+Shiki+Nero curbstomps today's stuff. Of course, so does basically any support AoE saber when I have Waver fueling it all, but...
Finally did Caliugla and created a team specifically for it which was lol!overkill.
Tamamo, Grail'd Nero, and Void Shiki. Because it's Caliugla and I have to bring Nero to that.
Get through the first two waves easily with some NP help from Nero. Then on Caliugla? Throw Fox's Wedding on Void Shiki, sub her out for Orion with MLB'd KScope, and LET 'ER RIP.
Void Shiki OBLITERATED the Homunculus and took off half of Caliugla's HP herself. Then Nero + Orion/Artemis did the rest.
Basically Shiki has some magic split personality stuff going on (KnK has some yin-yang theming going on with it). Void is one of them. The normal assassin Shiki is the female one. The male one is dead. And someone else would have to go into more detail on that. But that's the reason you get two names - Saber Shiki is just much clearer if someone doesn't know the KnK stuff.
She does in fact use that sword in the source material though. Once.
Well that wasn't much to speak of. Really if you have Heracles or Lu Bu and your Command Spells then all you need is to get past the first two floors with throwaways. Tamamo and Waver brought down the Casters on Floor 1, Jack forgot to Quick-steroid before her NP on Floor 2 so she got to something like 400 health before killing the dragon, but as soon as I hit the last floor I switched Jack for Heracles, burned a Command Spell, and wiped out Amakusa instantly. After that Dantes just did his thing and tore up Jeanne.

Jeanne and Tamamo are still carrying me through this event. I cut it pretty close on Caligula, down to just D'eon and Dantes with about 40% and 25% HP left when I finished on turn 28.
The next day went decidedly smoother, since I charged Dantes to 200% on the round 2 wyvern and opened up on Jeanne and Shirou with that, then charged him back up with arts combos for a finishing blow before either of them could fire off an NP.

I Threw All My Summoning Tickets Into The Current Banner Because I Really Want Another Kaleidoscope And All I Got Was This Edgy Avenger (and no tee shirt...)
Oh well, Dantes is pretty cool and has nice shooty hand lasers, but I'm not going to be leveling him up for a while due to others taking priority.
Another day cleared with team Berserkers featuring Waver. This one was pretty close, though, given that my bersekers actually died this time. Thankfully it wasn't until after Amakusa went down, so I just needed Dantes to take out Jeanne.
But when you know what's coming up... Well, obviously saving is correct. This fistful of tickets has been earmarked already.

Shiki got fucking mauled even on the opening shit because I was getting kinda screwed by card RNG and then the Wyvern actually managed to kill Waver because I was trying not to DEF buff to save it for giving Dantes more meter. Didn't matter, Dantes' meter gen is just fine even from 0 and with 2 drains Amakusa got merked in time before he could NP.
I burnt 2 seals on this one, the first of which was because I'm dumb and forgot how to set up a team. It wound up being Herc, Waver and Dantes on the last wave. Amakusa can't take Nine Lives and Tyger, apparently.

There's been more than a few Collectable Figure Games or whatchamacallits over the years. The one that immediately comes to mind is the blind-box D&D Minitures Game, although IIRC Pokémon did something similar as well?

Marketing, mostly. Wargames and boardgames have different audiences, I think.
It's probably because wargames have a long history that's separate from the more casual boardgames (that tend to be limited to a board, hence the name). Wargames didn't begin as games as much as they began as, well, strategic training exercises for generals. And then they eventually got made more accessible and made their way into the civilian market.
Tracing Warhammer back to the likes of Kriegspiel is a relatively straight line, albeit veering off the course of historical wargaming into fantasy.
Meanwhile, boardgames trace their way back to... tons of stuff? Gambling, divination, morality lessons, sometimes even just entertainment. A board and pieces tends to be what separates boardgames from sports and playground games, I guess. Although sometimes not.
Confusing matters further, you have stuff like Wikipedia's "Board game" page calling Dungeons & Dragons a boardgame. I guess modern versions probably count, huh.
So... I messed up on the first bar of today's challenge. Vlad got double-crit without Guts up in the first Wave which really hindered things. Void Shiki, Dantes (later Mashu), and Fox lasted until a multiple-times-delayed Ghost Bosst NP where only Tamamo survived due to Invincibility and buffed/healed Nero with her remaining life.
Then it was mono e' mono with the massive ghost.
Thankfully Thrice Setting Sun / Invictus Spiritus A is godlike.
Some people here put their faith in mad Berserkers. I put my faith in my Emperor. UMU!
Heracles for MVP in the last fight. Everyone else was getting smashed with crits and then he comes in, Command Spell to gain NP, buff up, and Buster Brave Chain to the face.
