Rest of the team was Ramza with BSB2 and USB, Relm with USB, and Shelke with Entrust. main Magicite was Dullahan XII. I could replace Shelke with Rinoa for her Chain, but then I would not have anywhere near enough healing to survive. I didn't have enough to survive when Shelke was Entrusting everything to Relm.
I don’t even really know how to confront 4* magicite without a chain or insanely broken relics.
The only one I’ve beaten has used both! And even that was a bit of a nightmare. I have zack’s wind chain too but I don’t really know how to make it go at that level.
On paper, I should have enough power to kill Tiamat. But I simply can't survive long enough to wield it if I bring all of it (and don't have enough power for my healing to matter if I don't bring all of it). And on the flip side, I managed to kill Midgardsormr without a Chain (but with a real strong Wind relic). Tiamat is just way too buff.

the turning point for me from being scared to even try tiamat (because its bullshit! it really is!) to sub 30ing was running a mixed team to lessen the chance absorb x fucks one of my characters and slotting in fire resist on everyone
jet fire is by far the most dangerous move, savage jet fire even more so
Finally got around to Isgebind, and have a 46 second repeatable kill with plenty of defense (Edge USB0, Arc pblink SSB, Yuna BSB2). I tried some offense-heavy versions earlier but I kept taking too much damage, and sub-30 was out of reach anyway. Maybe after anniversary I can gear up and break through this one.
I’ve got Kraken, Marilis and Isgebind down now. Haven’t tried too much on the others, unsure how I’ll beat them. I think I can handle the wind weak one, unsure about the other two though.
My best ice stuff is Rinoa BSB2, Serah BSB1 and Sora USB. My Earth stuff is Yang BSB and Rydia BSB.
Get marilith to magic pixel, edge casting raging water, right before he finishes she hits him with all 4 hits of savage flame slash and kills him through 2 blinks, and then savage firaga as before tidus gets to go and I lose.
Just painfully difficult, I don’t even enjoy it. My run is maybe 15% completion, it’s so awful.

This level of difficulty would've been alright for fights in events that you just had to beat, but it's so unfun when you have to farm it.

I thought you said earlier you were waiting for powercreep to catchup.

For all the others, yea. But I need to farm fire crystals and my water team is outrageous.

How outrageous? I've gotten mine pretty consistent by Entrusting half a bar to Rosa for a second SSB. When the usual triple Savage Firaga happens, I take the first one on the chin, Rosa patches it up and blinks the second one, and then a second SSB cleans up after the third, and it's smooth sailing from there. I only see Savage Flame Slash on like one run out of ten. Usually finishes somewhere between 25 and 28 seconds depending on doublecasts and Entrust mistakes
Team is
Ramza LD+LMR BSB2, wrath+entrust
Edge LD, no SBs most runs
Tidus LD Ultra -> Chain
Bartz LD+LMR BSB2
Rosa SSB
Kraken magicite
I wonder if propping Sora with double entrust and his USB would be enough for 3* Ice and Wind magicite...you could even try to finish it off with the aosb
the thing is I just don't have any of the preceding magicite for those bosses.
I am of the opinion that magicite passives barely matter at all in 3*. Enkidu as a main is a substantial survivability boost (and wind blink is really good against Fenrir), but in general if you can stay alive you can limp across the finish line with a pretty wide variety of offensive spreads. I was never in a scenario where my problem was "I can easily survive for a full minute but the boss always ends with 10% HP after I exhaust every resource".
4* is a different story. Marilith really WAS like that for me; I needed to squeeze every last point of damage out of my hones and bars.

Yeah, 3* can be pushed through with suboptimal setups, and even level 1 magicite actives will help mitigate the worst issues. It's the 4* magicites where you need either absurd offense or a lot of redundancy to eke out the kill since they enrage so quickly.
Do you have any magic blink medicas? Dodging an entire Savage Firaga is a lot better than 2000 HP stock and a mostly irrelevant Blink.
Also try having Onion send more meter to the medica bot if you're dying, if you're clearing in 20-22 seconds you can afford to spend a turn or even two at the start having Tidus and Bartz use Lifesiphon
For reference, here's the action script for my party:
Ramza: BSB2, Wrath, Entrust Tidus, Kraken, Wrath, Entrust Rosa, (doesn't matter past here)
Edge: RW Wall, Blink x2, spam damage
Tidus: Lifesiphon x2, Ultra, Chain, spam Sapphire Shot (note: has DMT)
Bartz: Lifesiphon x2, (maybe one Water Quad here depending on meter), BSB2, spam Water Quad
Rosa: Shellga, Curada x5, SSB x2 (Gathering Storm)
Not any instant cast ones, serah is the only one I have and she’s entirely unviable with this much damage going out. Barely 5k hp is just violently squishy.
The pblink is pretty useful when she savage flame slashes (usually twice a fight) and it actually hits more than 1 person.

With Thunder God mode, the non-instant magic blink I'm using works fine. I think I usually still have quickcast from the chain for one of my SSB casts, too, so it's pretty darn speedy. The squishy healer gets the major fire resist, no problem there. And I just don't see savage flame slash most runs.
eta: I guess Sara (I) BSB could be a problem in that it's only a Cura medica, hmm.
It would probably be safer if I did it slower because I frequently have to survive three savage firagas in a row when she casts one and then is pushed into weak.
Tried to run Kraken a couple of times, but my party comp isn't allowing for both Shellga and Protectga, and thanks to Kraken's counters, it's not something I can Marilith my way through, so I need to either replace Rosa and have Y'shtola use Aetherial Pulse, or boot one of the Support 5*s for someone with WHM 4*, like Sora, though I don't have his Lightning Glint.
Current comp:
OK: Wrath/Entrust - SBs with BSB.
Ramza: Wrath/Entrust - Entrusts meter away to Lightning.
Lightning: Lifesiphon/T.Quad - USB and BSB2
Shantotto: Chain Thundaga/Hell Thunder - USB
Rosa: Curada/Shellga - USB heals all day, er'ry day
What did you use for damage? I’m trying to figure out what to do against that guy.
Terra - Meltdown r4, Wrath r4 - USB - Scholar's Boon - 20% fire boost equipment
Edge - Smoldering Fire r4, Fire Veil r5 - SSB2 - 40% ninja damage - 20% fire boost equipment - Full LD
OK - Chain Firaga r4, Firaja r5 - BSB - Dr. Mog's - 40% fire boost - Full LD with LMR
Arc - Curada r4, Protectga r2 - SSB1 (the instant cast one) - Thunder God's Might
Yuna - Ultra Cure r4, Valigarmanda r4 - BSB2 - Mako Might
RW: Fabula Guardian
Magicite: Mom Bomb
With this setup, Edge gets a bar just in time to blink the first AoE sheet at 13s, Arc blinks the one at 26s, and either one blinks the one at 36s. It's very stable but would need to be significantly reshaped in order to push 30s.

I run Kraken with no Protectga and a Sentinel RM on my healer (Eiko with USB), and it works real well. Eiko just spends the battle healing herself and casting USBs.

Consider giving Protectga to Onion Knight, having his other slot be a throwaway heal or whatever, and just getting by with only one entruster. That's more or less how my first team looked. You might even be able to give OK Curada and have Rosa wrath instead.
Crappy unboosted filler damage like auraless Sora isn't a great investment against Kraken because it provokes counters for not a lot of gain. I originally had my OK using Protectga + Chain Thundaga but his damage was so bad with only one buff and no RM that I gave him the heal instead. (Although to be fair this was before I did his LD.)

I may need to lean on radiant shield for those.
I wish we had a mote upgrade/downgrade system like for orbs. I haven't bought 3* DEX motes in a year and I've still got 2k+ somehow.

I can do a Holy team I think? With Agrias and Oldmandeu.
And a Lighting Team with Lightning's BSB2, Sora, and a surprisingly kitted out Ashe with her BSB and OSB.
And I would be able to do a dark team but I have no imperils but Sephiroth and Riku are down to party.
But no Legend materia or chain usb's or Cloud's and squall's busted ass BSB2's or anything.
Is deployment tactics still good? I remember that being busted.
What's your accessories?
My healing is the same (edge usb, penelo usb) albeit with some entrust bot feeders and I'm regularly getting out to the 50s range.
