Where is everyone finding the stuff about upcoming banners etc.? I have 92 mithril and i do not feel like i am making informed decisions on which banners to pull. I mean, i see the in game description of the festival banners, but stuff after that is a mystery.
Edit: Oh, it might be in the OP. nevemrind
The Global version of the game is about 6 months behind the Japanese version of the game, meaning that you can usually look at a translation of their banner, and have a decent idea of what will be on upcoming banners. Also, people have found where the art assets for the banners are saved, and so when DeNa updates the app to include the banners yet to be revealed, they can often get a list of available relics per banner from that.
"I will write your name in the ruin of them. I will paint you across history in the color of their blood."
Also, in this specific case (the banners for the festival), you can find the data in-game. There's a link at the top of the relic draw page which shows what's in each of the phases.
Woohoo, kraken is now down for the first time in 34 seconds with my shiny new Kain csb and lightning AOSB /glint.
Lightning USB would've made it perfect, but this is just fine!
Probably is, but dangit, I wanted to fight something and get Orbs.
I got to try out Alphinaud vs Golem, so it was worth it. That matchup is hilarious, BTW.

Managed to survive against Tiamat for a minute, and got it to an invisible pixel of health, but came up short at the end. May need to Legend Dive a DPS, and possibly also a healer. Still, what a horrible fight.
It's unevenly balanced, that's for sure. Relying on Shout/Battle Cry for your ATK buff? Get fucked. On the other hand, if you're running an ATK/MAG buff, have a pair of Attack Boon 15s, and are using an ultra with a 30% ATK buff baked in, you might not even notice because you're still above the ATK softcap even with the debuff, so you're only missing ~8% damage.
Ayame with BSB does not care at all about having her strength absorbed, since she was probably over the buff softcap anyway.

The more I play with Squall, the more I dislike his BSB2.
Not because it's not powerful (it clearly is). But rather, it's because it takes so long to setup for only a few CMD2 uses.

I'd much rather SSS with him and dualcast that.
Give him Gathering Storm, build meter with SSS, possibly entrust to him, then get extra CMD2's off. I say as if you likely haven't thought of that already.

I don't think I could function if Gathering Storm wasn't on my healer.
So trying Kain and his Chain against the A+ Barbariccia (yes I am slow and lazy), I am slightly perplexed as to how one gets up and running. LS it up? Start with MM or something? LS to chain seemed so damn slow...

Chains can take the place of a boostga or faithga, so you can give him Mako Might and RW Wall.

Man, trying to kill Golem, just sort of throwing things at the wall to see what sticks...

Oooooooh CAN they now? I did not even think of that. I'm currently MMing Rikku's USB and OK pUSB, but I could totally swap out Rikku for something, give someone Shell/Protect, and go from there.
And I got him to ~25% at around a minute, but just couldn't seem to kill him fast enough...
I have Fujin OSB/BSB/SSB, but I'm not sure if she would be any more effective than Alph/Edge.
This is actually pretty close to my sub-30 team, albeit probably without some of my +wind stuff so you maybe can't hit that time. Here's what I bring:
Edge 99 (1 +wind gear) Raging Winds R3/Phantasm R5/Mako Might/LD/USB0
Fujin 99 (2 +wind gear) Raging Winds R3/Stitch in Time R1/Scholar's Boon/LD (BSB/SSB, mostly just use SSB repeatedly)
Alphinaud 99 (1 +wind gear) Bahamut R4/Meltdown R3/World Traveller/LD (BSB)
Y'shtola 99 Shellga/Curada/Gathering Storm/LD (BSB, wall)
Shelke 99 Entrust/Wrath/Dr. Mog/LD (BSB, but never used)
It's been a while, but I think this is the process:
Edge leads off with Eblan, does Raging Winds until it runs out and then Phantasm, re-ups last stand/haste as needed
Fujin leads off Stitch in Time, does raging winds, and her SSB whenever meter allows
Alphinaud leads off Meltdown (6* weakness builds meter faster), launches BSB when he can, then basically does CMD1 repeatedly, I think.
Y'shtola does wall then shellga (because Golem takes a bit to get going), casts Curada repeatedly until she has meter, then bursts.
Shelke feeds (I think) Alphinaud immediately, come to think of it, and then feeds Fujin the rest of the battle to force-feed those SSBs.
Raging Winds is piercing, with one +wind equipment, you probably shouldn't even need a buffer on whoever's casting. Fujin's OSB is probably a better "shove meter into" thing than her SSB, aside from a single cast to get enWind going.
You don't need to bring protectga, because since you'll be running a magic team, everyone should be in the back row - Golem's attacks aren't ranged, so that'll take the edge off, particularly with the pblink from edge.
e: This might be one of the ones I do YOLO and use Fabula Raider instead of wall for the sub-30, but you wouldn't have that quite yet
That team has tools very similar to the team I'm currently using for (sub-30) Golem, so I think we can make this work.
The team I'm using consists of 3 DPS:
Shadow (Raging Storm/Raging Storm) with legend dive and +Ninja RM
Alphinaud (Tiamat/ ) with legend dive, BSB, and Mako Might
Fujin (Meltdown/Faith) with OSB and +weakness RM
My other two characters are Relm with her USB, and Tyro with his new USB, but I think you can get the relevant stuff up if you have someone with Wall or someone with a Hastega/Faithga that stacks with Fabula Raider. Alternatively, someone with a Faith/Hastega and enough Bard access to cast Mana's Paean. Meanwhile, you have your healer and your buffer (or Fujin) use Protectga and Shellga.
I have Fujin use Faith on Alphinaud on the first turn, while he uses his BSB. Then she uses Faith on herself the next turn and proceeds to spam Meltdown until she has the meter for an OSB. You instad might want to use her SSB for Enwind and keep casting Meltdown? Depends on how the fight plays out; you could even give her Ace Striker, to get both out. Meanwhile, Shadow just spams Raging Wind until he's out of actions.
With Edge's Eblan Doppelganger, I think you can probably afford to run with 1 healer (Y'shtola), if the damage goes out quick enough. And the third one being Fujin with her Enwind SSB and OSB, I think that's a fair bet.
I use Unicorn magicite for a bit of extra healing and the status blink.

Where do I haste? I can do double Healer with Selphie/Y'sthola, or I could instead go Riku/Y'shtola, and get hasteproshell30/30, but then Riku does nothing for a bunch of rounds. Maybe Y'shtola with the haste ability?

Yea, as long as you have at least one supporting boostga or faithga, proper chain adds should let you cap out on damage around the 50-hit mark. Anything higher is wasted SB meter.

So what you're saying is that a basic 30/30 ATK/MAG should be enough to let a mixed team work if I'm using a chain?
edit:
Ah, finally. The fourth Shell Dragon. now I'll be able to level it up and throw some inheritance at it. And I now have the Earth orbs I need for R4 Desert Mirage, too. Now I just need 24 Ice and friggin' 38 Dark.

the only comps i double buff are magic comps, since mages need a lot more juice to go. but mages also usually have +30mag on their ultras so that helps on that front. it's a big bonus of the two trance LMs i use in magicites so far because it helps get to the cap without any meter spent.

I rushed to finish Melusine figuring that the ones that had been around for the longest would go away first. Silly me.

Same here, the timing on those mp fights was really weird. I don't even know when they showed up.

Mulling trying for Squall's stuff. Hrmm.
This Fest has been weirdly short on content. Previous Fests had multiple events going on at the same time.
I'd rather them do this than give us a 5 stage event with rewards stripped out and no multiplayer and call it a weekly event.

Eblan Doppleganger does haste.
Unfortunately we don't have unicorn to play with yet - this is his first time through, so no holy or dark yet
He could bring Enkidu for an instant heal, though.

oh right, I forgot that's how it works. Yeah, Enkidu is another good option, or perhaps Fenrir for the actual Blink and Earth resistance up.\
edit:
Wait, did we all manage to remember Raging Storm as Raging Winds? Haha, and I've been fighting Golem with a Ninja all day long, how did I miss that?
So just Edge, instead of Edge + Yuffie.
