let's call it m hunter
no that's too obvious let's call it monster h
To continue with the bar analogy - in this case, you've known and been friends with the bar owner for years. When he asked you to invest in his renovations you agreed because he built a great place for you and your friends to hang out and drink, and you want to support him so you can continue to hang out there. You expected him to renovate and make his bar more of what it already was - you weren't prepared for him to go in a completely different direction. You feel like you made a poor investment, and you're disappointed as a result. Moreover, you're hearing rumors that he's abusive to his girlfriend, he didn't file his taxes the last few years, and he hosts parties for some strange cult in the basement every second Tuesday.
I don't think it's accurate to look at someone's total hours played and assume they are still playing as much as they were. I few pages back I posted the heatmaps for time played, and it's obvious for me as a very specific example that I'm not playing as much as I was, despite my total hours being high. I don't much like the core experience of Destiny 2 and will continue to complain about it. However, I love the people I play with, and I enjoy the raids enough that it's not a chore to maintain the raiding schedules that my groups have. It's not an option to tell someone like me to just go play another game - there is literally no other experience available today like raiding in Destiny, and the logistics of moving the ten or so people that I play with to another game is not an insignificant barrier.
Also, speaking for my small group of friends - we do play other games together, they just invariably get compared to Destiny.

Pretty sure he's talking about MHW, which yeah, I too have started going to that bar much more often.

That monster bar doesn't, and not everyone found the aesthetics as pleasing, so we've lost a couple barfriends, for now
Man I could really use a drink right now

To be honest I was referring more to it seems like every other place on the internet that bitches about D2. I actually like most of the conversation in here and (again) think most of the points are valid ones, which is probably why this is literally the only gaming forum I frequent. It's a ratio thing, y'know? I think it's pretty undeniable that things can sometimes tip overly into the negative side, and when it does I have to laugh, I just do.
You might know me as D'Brickashaw on Steam.
yeah i don't know anything about this monster hunter business i was definitely talking about The Cheesi
Monster hemorrhoids is a TERRIBLE bar, I agree.
It is just that D2 suffers in the light of D1. Should I be mad I got like 150 hours of D2 play in for $100, and probably still a bit more with DLC2? Probably not in isolation..... but when I look at the 1000+ hours, and more constently fun hours of D1 post Vanilla, an otherwise high value proposition looks bleak.
I am hopefully that D3 is a redemptive success that washes away the bad taste and people come roaring back, because I miss my friends (as Monster Hunter has them, but Warframe has me, and neither feel as good as say a Raid or a Lighthouse run). But the persistant looter game is a more crowded space already, and getting more so before D3.

They need to announce a console launch date so I can plan a trip to that festering rat hole.

Other than @Preacher :P
also:
Awsimo, how did you manage to get 0 hours wasted in Destiny?
(Destiny) Doot Doot, Shoot Brutes for New Boots, Woot Woot for Rad Suits and Phat Loots
That site only labels hours wasted if you've since deleted the character they were spent on.
Ah, that's a lot less stringent than "idle in orbit/the tower"
Also I enjoyed Iron Banner. Maybe I got lucky with the matchmaking. Or maybe I’m part of the problem now that I got that IB Auto Rifle.
A fireteam of guardians walks into a bar in the Ishtar Sink on Venus. All of them ask the bartender for a drink.
How many drinks does the bartender serve?
6, but he only charges them for 3
XBL: Sans Gravitas, Steam, Destiny, Twitch
Destiny Raid Groups: Team NATBurn, Team Fourth Meal (Disbanded)
Obviously no time in destiny is ever wasted
There's a lot of PC players who only really have D2 saying the same thing. D2 lacks for things to do in that there is a lack of meaningful and/or challenging things to do in the game that give meaningful rewards. But that's what the game is supposed to have. It's not that they didn't intend for it to be played that way and we've "gotten our money's worth" already, they just designed it poorly.
I mean at this point I feel like we’ve gotten the gist of it

I have had some similar punch chains with defensive strike. And extended melees are crazy fun too. Just getting yourself sucked across the map thanks to synthoceps tracking.
I didn’t go to another bar, I gave up binge drinking. Which is both good and bad because while a 6 hour leviathan run massive bender is memorable it certainly isn’t good for you

They are useful like a bicycle is to a fish
Bingie drinking?
Like every other time it was up I just got it accidentally, often before I was even close to the other challenges. The last one on the last day? Just could not catch somebody even if I started hording heavy ammo and saving my own super while reflecting on how it's a shitty challenge because of the behavior it inspires.
I was about ready to give up after I somehow fist of havoc'd a fist of havoc-ing guy, who died, but didn't count but then I died right after. I'm looking at the death screen deciding if I have another whole round in me when somebody else popped stormtrance and wandered into my aftershocks and died. Such an excellent challenge.
i also really love when my team of randos finally decides to start teamshooting the second i pop my super so all my opponents are dead and i completely waste it
