I find GS so much more engaging when I have a giant rocket attached to the end of it that lights off as the charge increases.
I've been running every thing with it since I unlocked it. Feels so beefy but I don't know if I'm ever going to get the hang of turning and aiming the charged slashes.

I CONSISTENTLY turned and whiffed with the True Charged Slash until my GS-playing brother gave me a great tip: Hold forward when triggering the next charge level. I learned to hold back and it was messing me up. Once I started using forward to trigger it, I never accidentally turned and now I'm able to actually readjust when the monster steps a little left or right!
@Entaru it turns out I have the materials to do both augment slots on my Fiendish Tower that you helped me get the mats for last night. I have never augmented a weapon. I’m guessing Affinity and Health?

That is what I am doing with it. Health is an amazing augment and affinity is better than power at that attack value.

So, this was the most annoying thing to do, until I switched up and did the following.
Fight the Barroth in the left corner from where you jump down. Pick the gun lance and wedge yourself into that corner and block all of his charges and attacks. Since you're in the corner, he'll just run in place and you can R2 + Triangle "Guard Thrust" 5 times or so after every one of his attacks. When he gets knocked down just go ham.
Oh and throw your given bomb barrels right in front of you, he charges and you'll block both the explosion and his attacks for free damage.
I got it down to about 11 minutes a fight this way.
Yeah, the trick to quick barroth is that it'll spend most of the time just kind of smushing its face against the wall if you're standing next to the wall.
For the Ryu Barroth fight - just take 2 people. We had it down to 2:30 last night and you get 3-4 tickets at that time. One greatsword and one gunlance. Ensure you take advantage of the paralysis knives, poison knives, and traps. A messy fight was still under 4 minutes. I think the key is having an extra hand in there to stagger the hell out of him.
EDIT: Maybe that's a really good time!! Is there a way to see world rankings outside of the game? Can you check them in-game?
i picked up a warrior blade stone and i decided to maybe make a barroth club to see what i'd be working with
i have all the mats except low rank barroth claws, which is irritating, so i roll up an optional, kill him, get a couple claws and whoops i need exactly one more
i am a little furious
roll up another barroth optional, i wind up finding him and just blowing him up this time which is actually pretty fun
then i realize i picked the capture quest and i just failed it
i am now a lot furious
then the reward screen comes up, awards one single barroth claw and i just guffaw

Huge thanks to @Sirialis for helping me get through Tempered Kirin. He dished out the dps with some high quality dual blade work. Carried me right to the end. I hate that fight so much.

Yeah, that was a lot of fun last night.
That Bagel Goose just would not leave us alone, but he got what was coming to him.
Also looking through my haul, I apparently got my Protective Polish jewel. Score!

i got one shaft warrior's from him in six runs
Also I managed to get my second Warrior's Streamstone: Sword, so my Ignition GS now steals health.
I'm happy that Divine Slasher uses Hero's.
But I'm sitting on two Warrior's Blades, one Hero's Blade, and two Warrior's Lance -- Any suggestions on which to augment?
Scholar works pretty well on boosting the amount of investigations.

bit the bullet and used my lance hero on love's sorrow for the health regen
did a really efficient jho run thanks to the regen augment and protective polish
immediately got a hero hammer and a second hero lance
that heal is so real and will save your ass/and make your kill times better
because you arent wasting 3-10seconds healing

Well, I think i'm done with Monster Hunter. I stopped at HR29, with 150 hours of playtime.
I had fun but I think i'll take a long break. I might come back to Plat it sometime.

I had the opposite problem, I had twice as many small crowns compared to large crowns for quite a while.
I think I’m missing 5 small and 10 large right now. (11 if Devil Joe counts)
Edit: Just got a Large Gold Crown Tzitzi.
Now I can properly join in on the deco grind!

I use it all the time because I am a noob, but sometimes it bugs out on the scenery.
That’s weird, because when I played a couple games of Heroes of the Storm I took a long break from Heroes of the Storm.
For looks, the blossom set. Insect queen from arena vespoids is a thing. Horizon stuff is available again.
