NTSC to PAL

So my wife's boss is going to Sweden on vacation to visit family. Hes taking along a homemade DVD of his mother's funeral. It wasn't burned to be region specific, so I'm not worried about that, but would the NTSC PAL difference affect playback?

    My dvd player plays both ntsc and pal, so I think that it doesnt really matter (at least on a new player).

    edit: I guess the tv may also need to do both as well? Im not sure.
