You can leave Ultima alone, oddly enhancing it makes it a bit worse. At least as is it can be used to finish and get the 'kill with magic' missions. Enhanced it becomes more of a chaining skill.
Did you get the free Omni-rod from the last raid? You can get a lot of decent starter equipment with Star Quartz. You could dual wield that with the staff of blizzards (2 raids ago) or Rod of Judgment (bought with star quartz). Earrings are a good starter accessory that can be bought with star quartz. Siren's Robe is still top 5 and you should have gotten it from Beasts of the Dark. Cat-ear Hood is another SQ purchase that has good Mag for a hat.

Rest of the equipment is Siren's Robe, Chapeau, Magical Scrunchie, and a Monarch's Ring. I'll look into those quartz things - I'm still at the end of Zoldaad, so I might not have reached them yet, but I haven't really explored to look for the fat chocobo in most places. Materias are 2 x +20% mag, Dual Wield, and Rod Mastery. Basically all of my best MAG stuff (except Emil's head, which Terra can't equip). I manage to hit 802 Mag by putting all my mag stuff on her like this. Which should be decent, if not necessarily stellar?

Yeah the Cat ear hood is in Sorcerer's Hideaway so 2 story sections away if I remember. Earrings are basically the same thing as Magical Scrunchie, so 20% Mag. They are in Town of Kolts and cost 50 SQ.
The next trial, The Lure of Echidna has a Mag+30% but it's part of the 'kill with esper' mission which sucks.
For those following JP, did CG Hyoh come out as a 7* or was he released 6* then got the 7* treatment? Looks like he can max TDH with 7* using his own TMR.
I just hate that a TMR, that is now part of the GL TDH BiS meta, is on a limited time unit. I hate it more than I can put into words. I figure if his 7* isn't too far off from release I'll just deal with it, since I can make up for it with his TMR. I've used the remaining 15K lapis I had (after WD banner pulls) and every ticket I've had chasing ExAileen and I'm not going down the slippery slope that is paying to pull a unit.
I'm probably missing something when I look at his stats, but it seems like he has a built in 100% TDH (+25% accuracy) in equipping his own TMR, yes, but it's no different than Cloud having an inherent 100% TDH as part of his 6* kit. You'd still need a Buster Style + 2 Marshal Gloves/1 glove 1 E.Aileen to cap the 300%.
When I read your first quote, I thought you meant that he could hit 300% TDH all by himself, no outside TMR help, but that doesn't look like the case unless I'm really not seeing something.
Hyou was the 4th banner 7* after Squall/Rinoa, when 7* units were first released. It went:
- Squall/Rinoa + bunch of pre-existing 6*s getting upgraded.
- Dragon Quest Collab, with Estark and Marquis de Leon being 7* capable, and previous Dragonlord getting a 7* upgrade - we're probably never getting this.
- FFXI with Angry Shantotto and Shadowlord being 7* capable
- CG Hyou banner. Hyou should already be 7* capable from the get-go.

Jesus, fuck this Leviathan fight. He's casting Sealing Foam and Bubbles of Rage every single turn. He's down to 16% but I've already used 100 lapis on this bullshit.
I blew all of my tickets and did like 3 lapis pulls on the IWD Support banner. Came out with a single Lunera (it was like 50 regular tickets and 6 4* tickets).
Kind of regret it, but pulling is the fun part of the game for me so oh well!
I was hoping for a dupe of Ayaka or a Veritas of the Light, anything would've been fine except for another Queen.
I guess now I save for 7*s or something? Sephiroth and FF7 were never really my game, and my understanding is that Yuna and Lulu aren't that great (and should be the next event barring an Easter event).
Yuna's sort of a weird jack of all trades kind of character, she has some support with water/fire/thunder/ice elemental coverage, she has some healer with curaga and re-raise; she has some summoner with a skill to fill the ES gauge and summon any esper, and some finisher, with a hybrid mag/spr skill for 2000/2250% and can be boosted by EVO magic. Her LB isn't bad with a maxed 124% Def/Spr boost, heal, regen, and raise. Unfortunately like all jack of all trades, she's not really good at any one thing, which means there are usually better options. She doesn't even get dual cast till 7*. For a 5* base, she's pretty bad.
Lulu is better in that she's one of the first with Flood (water version of quake or tornado), though it lowers thunder resistance which is weird. She has 4 of the -ja spells, so if you need some elemental magic flexibility she's decent. That's all she does though.
I wish they'd do a better job with the past game FF characters, as that banner will be a hard pass.

7* Lulu is kind of neat. Gains Tornado and Waterja+ (which seems to be Waterja that starts off a 120% instead of 200% but caps at 1200% instead of 600%). Waterga, Waterja, & Flood gain +300% to their base modifier while Waterja+ gains +400%. Her Cooldown skill is a weird 1500% single target 3 hit fire magic attack that ignores 25% SPR, fills her LB by 8 crystals, and imperils water by -100% (for the Waterja+ spam).
And then at max level she gains +50% MAG from equipment both when TDHing and also when Dual-wielding.
I burned the rest of my raid coins last night to get more cactuars to take advantage of the increased Great and Awesome success rates. No moogles, but got a 4* ticket, which was nice. I probably would have awakened more units but I'm about out of materials for the first time in a long time. Good thing I won't be pulling any new units for a while so I can restock.

Always buy out the cheaper 6* mats whenever there is a king mog event. costs about 4800 currency to get 30 of a material, but its definately worth stockpiling even if you dont have anything to spend it on at the time. Same. Ill always buy out the cheap mats below 100. Rainbow blooms are starting to get scarce though. Seems like every unit always need 20 of those to awaken

I burned 300,000 raid coins and all of my Free Points last night before maintenance. Took me to like 1200 units.
It broke down to like 260 Gil Turtles which sold for like 4million gil, I got 4 or 5 100% moogles for most of the Tomb Raider banner, 7% in regular moogles (7 1% moogles), and 1 4* ticket.
A ton of cactuar that I used to level some dupe 5* units for expeditions as well. Only 1 Skaha out of all of that.

Kunshira also gets innate sword/rod DW, and gets ATK/MAG boosts from wielding each. She may be better to build as an actual Hybrid like VoTL, as opposed to straight MAG like Fryevia. This is just speculation, however, I haven't really seen much talk about her.

The friends point banner is still up today for some reason. you probably should regret it at least a bit since it gives cactaurs and gill snappers. at the very least you could have sold everything you pulled and came out ahead.
