While Lucas is readying the new "Clone Wars" animated series, he told Friedman that he will make two more live-action films based in the "Star Wars" universe as well.
"But they won't have members of the Skywalker family as characters," he said. "They will be other people of that milieu."
The two extra films will also be made for TV and probably be an hour long each. But, like "Clone Wars," Lucas doesn't know where on TV they will land.

George Lucas seems to have an opinion on Spider-Man 3
Lucas said that he has seen all the summer movies since his company, Industrial Light & Magic, does most of the special effects. The only one they didn't work on was Spider-Man 3. What did he think of it?
"It's silly. It's a silly movie," he said. "There just isn't much there. Once you take it all apart, there's not much story, is there? People thought 'Star Wars' was silly, too," he added, with a wink. "But it wasn't."

That's a pretty jerky thing to say. I didn't know he talked smack like that.
It was pretty creepy nearer the end when Peter started to be really evil. I thought the progression from simply exagerrated emo stylings to proper 'im going to kill you harry' moments was actually not too bad.
but again, they could have expanded that a lot and cut out a lot of the other crap.
Spiderman 3 is two amazing films in one shoddy package. flawed genius. You can see at times the brilliant shades of 1 and 2, like the peter/harry rooftop battle or pretty much all the scenes with topher (surprisingly a compelling character).
But then you just have too much in there, I know Raimis favorite character in the spidey universe is sandman, it really feels like that entire plotline was tacked on. Everything would still have worked without him entirely. it didnt need sandman.

Unfortunately, it felt like it didn't really need Venom either. They put way too much focus on Peter and MJ.
I didn't see the symbiote affecting Spider Man much at all. What did he do that he wasn't capable of otherwise?
I wish they'd have saved Venom for a third movie instead of forcing him into the end like that, but it still wasn't bad. It just could've been a lot more.
I think they needed an extra villain in there to help demonstrate how Peter's becoming more evil, but it didn't really work with Sandman because they tried to characterize him too much. Someone like Shocker or the Rhino, someone with basically no personality, really just there to be a threat, would have been more fun.
And, y'know, guy in a quilt, or a guy in a big rhino suit? Awesome.
Cool thing I noticed and I expect everyone else did: nice little lizard skeleton in the background in Doc Connor's lab... oooooh...

Also goes on to say this
More Clone Wars?
Fuckin A!
shit.
that went instantly from best news ever to worst news ever.
(Didn't the Clone Wars end?)
And it pains me to say this as a long-term Venom fan, but Maguire's Emo Peter really stole the whole movie.
The movie is the live action series.

And good point. Spider-Man 2 was darker in a lot of ways.
