I’m here mainly for Dan and how he and Arin okay off each other. When it’s just Arin I don’t enjoy it Nearly as much. I haven’t watched any of the ones Dan was alone so I’m not sure How I feel about those. But Arin’s Humor without Dan there comment or verbally roll his eyes at Aron’s antics just rubs me the wrong way. It feels like he’s overacting.
He's 100% overreacting. But I like him in this Crab Game video because he's trying to be positive and ask for kisses and stuff like that.
The solo videos with him playing Ghouls and Ghosts was great though. He wasn't overreacting about anything he was mostly chill the whole time.
That could be fun to watch. I just think Dan makes a great foil for him. Plus I relate to Dan more. I think also Arin’s protagonist voice just gets on my nerves to a degree that it follows into his solo stuff. Like that voice really grates on my nerves. But I find his all females sound alike schtick to be funny.
Edit: I’ve watched Arin’s sequelitis videos and enjoyed them. His game grumps persona is… different.

I 100% know what you mean. I don't watch any game that has a main character that has some dialog because he does the same jock voice in all of them and it grinds my gears. I guess I've been watching him for so long that it got repetitive.

I enjoyed the Kings Quest videos with just Dan. It's a different feeling, a lot more Bob Ross like.

Dan does a real good job of a chill let's play style thing for the games he loved as a kid. Good combo of personal stories and explaining his knowledge of the game.
Arin solo is basically him feeling the need to put on a show. Arin seems really convinced that he absolutely has to have a schtick and a persona for youtubing. While Dan does not, he just is himself hanging out with arin.

I didn't mind it with Superliminal, because I felt like that game really benefitted from Arins train-of-thought extemporaneous stuff. The Project Zomboid was just ugh though.
There were a few great Dan solo games that were utterly ruined by Ben the editor. There was one where he was playing through I think Space Quest and Ben kept cutting in some screamo shit in the middle of it... Totally taking away the vibe that the video had.
Third, they don't figure out how to increase the Lemming spawn rate until like two minutes from the end of the video, and never figure out the nuke button! Like, come on!
You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.

Starting up today's episode, figure I would go ahead and call my shot:
I think that the killer is the serial killer for justice and they were tricked into killing the girl, and I think the serial killer is the girl with red eyes.

It's been so long since I've played Lemmings that I couldn't remember what the deal is with the nuke, do you have to hold it for a while or something?
It splodes all of the lemmings if you need to restart. I think you hold it for 5 seconds?

Sorry, I guess that wasn't clear. I remembered what it's for, just not how you activate it. IIRC Danny tried to click on it at one point, but couldn't get it to start.
Yeah I think you need to hold down the A button on it to use it. Prevents you from accidentally using it.

Fun note - the new Advanced Wars trailer they released yesterday, Arin Hanson is voicing Max. I was watching RubberRoss's Direct reaction and he basically confirmed this... "Gee, doesn't that blue-haired character sound familiar? Almost like Arin Hanson...." *wink to camera*
With the recent Matt Mercer guest episodes I'm hoping Arin gets to do a voice in The Legend of Voice Machina or, even better, gets to be a guest player on Critical Role (although it would suck if he turned out to be bad at D&D).

He was okay in their brief liveplay stream, if I recall.

That Peko isn't a 'tool' of Monokuma and is trying to get everyone killed.

Oh Thank God.
Also,
I am totally taking the win on calling Pekopeko as the killer and that Fuyuhiko got her to do it. I was just wrong that she was the serial killer and that he didn't 'manipulate' her.
Also an Eye for and Eye oh ho ho

I think the boys are right about their theories, thinking maybe nurse girl had a psychotic break and the 'compress' was her trying to tend to the body?
EDIT: It seems pretty clear that the hemp bag and the curtain are used to be a misdirect as to the timing of the murder
EDIT2: It's between the mechanic dude and the nurse girl in my mind

TBH this is my least favorite part of the game because the "Despair Disease" is so goofy (also they killed best girl Ibuki). But I think I remember the trial being pretty decent. I'm very curious to see how they feel about the next chapter :P (and then the chapter after that one is probably my favorite murder/trial in the entire series)
And yes, for some reason the Game Grumps have this uncanny ability to predict a lot of the plot points in these games. Like I think Arin might have even called Junko super early in the first one? I won't spoil what they got right or wrong here but they've definitely had a couple throw-away lines throughout the chapter that were pretty spot on :P
Probably because it sucks. I think Arin briefly mentioned that in the first one for Observation Duty 4 (I assume he played 1-3 at home since I know he at least talked about enjoying the first one at home). Basically OD3 is a free roam 3D version of the game which pretty much makes it overly hard and dumb. Like, shit could be happening literally behind you, or in a different room that you have to walk to, etc and because you have to physically go to those places, it takes longer to see stuff or you might miss something because you didn't angle your camera the right way, etc. And there's stuff like being able to open drawers and cupboards that can ALSO sometimes have changes in them (I believe the dev said there would never be anything in the drawers in one of the maps that has like a BILLION but your average person playing isn't going to know what the dev said on twitter or where ever). Overall it's not a great game compared to the other three.
Oh noo! My wife and I just installed it recently and we were going to give it a shot.
I mean, you might like it. I just watched a streamer play so my impressions are based on that but it seemed overly hard compared to the other ones. The streamer was getting help from the chat on spotting stuff and even then it was hard to beat all the places. Though after really, really struggling at first they sort of got the hang of it after awhile. It's kind of the same thing where if you see something once you know to look for that in future playthroughs.
It does seem weird to make it a movement game instead of a camera game. It's literally called Observation Duty.
But I get it. As a dev it kind of sucks to have one game be such a hit that you're kind of pigeon holed.

I went looking at guides for OD4 to see what they were getting wrong in these last two eps, and like the easiest thing to do would be to take super high-res images of what the rooms are like without any anomalies, so people can compare them. But in an admittedly very brief search, no one seemed to have thought of that.
