I kinda wish that Great British Bake Off parody episode was done more straight. Obviously fucking up how to bake isn't as funny as if they had given an honest effort (though I mean, without specific cake instructions still).
It's secretly "Nailed It!", not the Great British Bake Off. And much better for it, imo.
No it's definitely Bake Off, because that happens in a tent in a field and the commentary / hosts & judges approaching each bench was done in that manner specifically.
I know the RESULT was "nailed it" as far as trainwreck productions go but they weren't copying a thing to make. :P
British accents sometimes turn me off something fierce, but other than some instances where I watch them play or comment on a game and find some of the things they say stupid (and not for the sake of comedy), what's so bad about them?
To me, Yogscast just isn't something I watch as a fan. They've just happened to have information or access to game that I'm interested in and I'm curious to know more. Like back in the day when the Rift MMO was the new hot shit, the only people who had any good info about it were Simon and Lewis, and TotalBiscuit.
Because you typed "fuck that" and nothing else, which implied a story. A story that these days usually seems to end with "and they're all racists/rapists/actual nazis".
So yeah, we just wanted some context to make sure we wouldn't accidentally be supporting Actual Terrible People by watching the episode.

I think maybe some of you are being very defensive of a thing on the internet. Nobody owes you an explanation for why they don't like a person or show or whatever, nor does it have to be agreeable. Sometimes people don't like the same shit you do.

I think it’s pretty natural to wonder what someone is on about when they clearly hold some people in contempt for no specified reason. Sure enough, there was a reason! They apparently ripped people off on the ks.
To be honest, I’m surprised you’re not already strongly against them, considering some of the things they said
Considering the Y-O-G-S part of Yogscast stands for Ye Olde Goone Squade, I'm remiss to like anything about them. I know some people have ties to Goon Squads/SomethingAwful forums, and it's definitely a "not all people" kind of thing, but my own experiences with anything/anyone who are a part of that section of the internet are generally less than positive.
Finished up the Dan Wiki episodes. Hard to imagine that there was ever any resistance to Danny joining the channel. I suppose it makes sense since Jon was pretty well liked at the time and his departure was a mystery. I remember being apprehensive, but willing to give him a chance. Punch-Out!! and the Wii version are a couple of my all-time favorite series, though. I imagine the dislikes on the first punch-out series were just silly spiteful dislikes.
Kinda odd they've never played the SNES game.
Also, Dan's "Um's" and "Uh's" really began grating on me in the third episode...
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

The Yogscast is fine. The worst they get is occasionally ignorant. I only watch their Minecraft stuff/Garry's Mod/GTA5 multiplayer though.
The kickstarter thing falling apart was a pretty big bummer but I don't think it was an intentional scam. They just bit off more than they could chew. As far as video content is concerned they are funny and have a regular schedule which is all I need.
I like how because Stormwatcher didn't initially explain his disdain for Yogscast, the conclusion must be because Yogscast are animal-abusing, drug-pushing, candy-stealing, pro-Brexit, racist-homophobic, alt-right Nazi scum of the Earth.

Like, that's a pretty big leap to take.
A disturbingly common leap though.

In 2018, when discussing YouTube celebrities? Especially gamer-culture YouTube celebrities?
I may have spent double that to go see them live in concert and only get a signed poster and substantial hearing loss.
I want to see them live so bad. The closest venue was in Cleveland which is about 4.5 hours from my house. I can't do that drive.

That fucking sucks. They put on an enjoyable show. The venue closest to me is about an hour. In traffic (there is always traffic), it's going to be 3-4. Hopefully going back isn't going to be as bad.

Watching some Grumps Skyward Sword... oh no this is going to go terribly. Arin has no idea how to sword fight and pretty quickly the enemies will get tazers. He doesn't understand the shield timing, or what objects in the field will allow Link to sit and restore his health. He doesn't seem to have a concept of the "Adventure Pouch" going to be the thing that stores bottles or potions to save you when you're in trouble. AND he's making a series of wrong assumptions based on already not liking the game. He should REALLY be letting Danny play if this is how it's gonna be, but Dan seems to prefer just hanging back on the single player stuff.

How much of that information was conveyed to him (clearly, not as metaphor or fluff) by the game? I mean, just to be fair.
If he outright ignored tutorials that were like "DO THIS NOW" then yeah it's his own fault. But sometimes games don't highlight their functions well.

Skyward Sword has TOO abundant tutorials, which Arin has decided to hulk out on and just ignore the useful information to try to prove his point. He wants every little annoyance to be a point in favor of his argument that the game is too hand holdey. Which... it definitely is and it bugged me too while I was playing it, but Arin seems to have VERY little intuition for things that aren't directly explained to him.
Example: in all the 3D Zeldas, you beat the Dekus by bouncing rocks back at them with your shield. In Skyward Sword, you have to time the bounce back with a motion control. Arin took 5 or more hits to the face because he never tried using the shield, then figured it was impossible to bounce the hits back after failing the correct timing once. Terrible judgment on a really basic idea.
There’s one episode where Fi says “you can change the UI by going into the menu” and Arin is like blah blah blah, then two minutes later Dan asks if you can remove the giant wiimote from the screen and Arin is like Nope, welcome to Skyward Sword.
I haven’t caught up on the series so I don’t know if he ever figured that out.

It's fine if you don't like em.
I think your post just came off like maybe there was a story there we didn't know (ie: they eat puppies).
But yeah if you just ain't a fan cause you don't like their content then more power to ya.

But why do you like Dan?
