Episode 15, Arin gets mad that there's some optional depth to the potion system. Despite it being the direct precursor to the cooking system he liked from Breath of the Wild. Then he gets mad that he forgot the hint he read on how to open the Temple door and also didn't examine the area carefully. I did love Danny's comment comparison to Princess Bride though, that was priceless.

I kinda checked out listening to the Finn Wolfhard Guest Grumps when it first came out, so I'm giving it a more focused listening to right now. I dunno how I missed at around 8 minutes in where he just randomly asks, "Have you guys ever puked on a sibling?"
This Headsnatchers video...neither of them see the arrow that points to where you need to throw the head... Still funny though.
I think I like it best when they're playing something that's not very structured, like their Guts and Glory set. It lets them mess around, play the game, and riff a lot.

Which is why Super Mario Maker is one of my favorite series' from them.
Sadly, this was not on last night's setlist, but they did bust out Danny Don't You Know...and Ninja Brian may have done at least one song with an audience provided blow-up doll stuffed in the front of his pants and tucked under his keyboard stand...

Got to the Ghirahim fight... okay Christ. Arin is straight up throwing a tantrum. "There's a lag on the controls!" No... you seem to have the reflexes of an 80 year old man. He throws a STRAIGHT LINE of daggers at you, after carefully showing what direction the line will be in. It's the energy blast from Ocarina all over again. And Arin gets tagged every time. And since he REFUSED to learn how to use the shield earlier (with all the Deku enemies around to teach you), he fails at using it each time as well. And, despite stopping at the dungeon's door to go buy a potion, he never remembers to use it.
But yeah Arin, it's 100% the game's fault and everyone thinks so. (Jesus)

Yeah fighting the learning curve of a video game doesn't make it the game's fault.
He's definitely holding back on some things, I've never played skyward sword and even I'm getting annoyed at a lot of stuff, like how the game has to show the mini cutscene for the red salamander enemy thing every single time you walk by it.
Skyward Sword isn't without its flaws, but I never felt they were as bad as most people make them out to be. While the controls can be hit or miss to a particular player, the excessive re-showing of cutscenes after saving for instance is inexcusable. Those are the sort of things I don't mind people complaining about.
Again, SS isn't perfect, but honestly what Zelda game is? They all have their faults in some form or another, but can each be enjoyed if you don't mind little hang-ups here and there or dated QoL changes we've become used too.

Yeah that's annoying and when you quit the game it reset the pickup animation that plays when you get an item. For example if you cut some grass and out pops a bomb, it plays the short cutscene of you picking it up and explaining what it is. Same with the 5 rupees. Same with the hearts (I believe).

he's only seeing that creature scene several times because he's walking around without paying much attention.
that's a minor gripe anyway, he's trying to make it look like a total turd of a game, and it's mostly good with some issues... probably the least great 3D zelda, but still pretty decent.
I don't have a horse in this fight, having never been a huge Zelda fan and never having played Skyward Sword in particular... but it certainly looks like a much better game than Arin keeps insisting it is. I think the thing keeping me going through this series is that Dan seems to be aware that Arin's being really unfair and kind of pokes at him about it, which is a little satisfying.
I never played Skyward Sword, either. Just from the looks of it, it looks like enjoyable even if a tad tedious. I would say that some of the things that would be annoying to experienced gamers were probably inented by the developers since the Wii, as a console, was partly designed for people who might be new to games. So Fi's constant updates and things like reshowing item descriptions is more for people who might not be as familiar with Zelda games, or games in general. Though it's tedious for someone like me, I won't fault the developers for being inclusive to lower skill players. An option to turn off some of the extra hand holdy stuff might have been nice, but it's not too bad. Motion controls also look a little awkward, but most motion controls are. I can only remember one game I really liked that had motion control for combat, which was Red Steel 2, and that was a bit awkward at times.

I mean in the sense that it's already irked me, and surprisingly, Arin hasn't said anything about it.

I keep hoping that they'd remake it and have this as an option.

well, it's arin lack of focus that's irking you, then. this whole eldin volcano sequence is pretty quick and easy if you play it like a regular person at home. You don't usually get to see it several times because you're usually done with it once.

No, I'm saying that it's the game having to expose that creature over and over again, even though Arin had already killed it previously. I honestly hate games that have to explain and hand hold everything to you, which is why I'm actually enjoying watching them play the game, since I never had any intention of playing Skyward Sword because of that. The game irks me, not Arin. I watch them for their jokes and banter, not for elite gameplay.
Edit: I'm just saying that I was expecting Arin to blow up on that part, and he didn't say anything.
Oh hey they did a video on Brave Exvius... I really don't want to see what units they pulled.
It was GUMI trying to push the Final Fantasy 8 banner/7* release. They were given a test account with 165000 lapis and at least they did better on this game than the Alchemist Code one. There's some careful editing to show that they end up with Rinoa and Squall, and do a couple of fights with them, but I guess the checklist on points to hit to qualify as a sponsorship was pretty small because for all Arin's talk of liking gachapon games, he does a terrible job of making it look like he's played any of them.

He literally went into the fight and just hit autoattack with all but one dude at level one.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
He chooses some skills with the Lasswell character, but that's it. Very little effort to "sell" the game, but honestly, it rides a lot on the coattails of Final Fantasy/SQEX IP character crossovers.

it's a bit annoying as a whiny posture, but I don't really care too much.

if he's wants to use this playtrough as proof that the game is awful, he's doing it very wrong.

It's why I didn't bother watching their Sonic 1 episodes or their Skyward Sword episodes.
