yeah, i've done that twice and i just don't find it fun.
i just need to really build up the desire to knock that out cuz right now the thought of doing so is just meh, i could read a book.
it's more of my own contrariness that is stopping me more than a wall in the game itself.
it kinda feels like writers block.
After years of WoW I can't do keyboard movement anymore, along with other injuries my left hand/arm/shoulder is all messed up. For Overwatch I managed to use a controller with a mouse to aim, but that doesn't work here at all. Controller works fine 90% of the time, and I'm slowly moving the sensitivity up as I get used to it.
I can fly all over the map, but this test only gives you a tiny platform to work with. Not enough room to get a running/sliding start. All the variations I tried shot me way past the platform, and just double jumping and gliding didn't get me up high enough.
i have the kronen which i was leveling just so i could make them into the next weapon with my boltor to free up that slot and was pleasantly surprised how well it actually does.
i think i must have just gotten lucky in the random mods i placed in it cuz they just chew through them grineer chumps surprisingly well.

have you tried the backflip (tap your dodge while moving backward) in midair move? it stops you dead. that, in conjunction with the aim glide gives you a tremendous amount of control.

You don't have to be by yourself to qualify for it, just only have the melee weapon.
You online now? We can blast through capture missions in about ten minutes.

This is the test to go from rank 7 to rank 8, right?
I'm not aware of any backflip. Tapping crouch and a direction gets you roll or sometimes slide if you hold it a moment too long. Or my favorite, where you start to slide but stay standing so you just start walking really fast for a moment. Looks hilarious.
I watched the video for the test and all of the comments are 'I did not know you could bullet jump from a crouch' and I'm 90% sure the in-game tutorial at the beginning also tells you that you only get that move while sliding and jumping. They actually put up a second, slower video specifically showing how to stop and line up the jumps, with the exact same 'why does the game never tell you you can do this?' comments everywhere. So it's not just me.

Signed on and saw a Stephanos fissure, figured "might as well go in as Nekros and take this dang Smeeta along" — first damn Butcher I killed drops Condition Overload.

You also have to be aiming to get the backflip.
Check 7:05 in this video for a backflip example, but watch the whole thing to really get the whole suite of tools demonstrated.
i've been watching some of his videos and there's some really good info in them.
he had a series of videos where he started over on a free to play only account (spending no money) to show the gameplay experience and shared a LOT of good info that was easier to parse than reading countless wiki pages etc.
they are from about a year ago so some stuff is outdated but much of it is still useful for wrapping your brain around the immense amount of stuff not readily surfaced in this game.

Who mentioned having access to Ignis Wraith bps? I'm about to hit MR 9 and that looks like a fun one to build.
I just got Seeking Fury and I'm sorely tempted to potato my Hek, but the Vaykor Hek is a direct upgrade and I'm already well into Steel Meridian - just 33k rep from tier 5. Looks like going from almost-MR 9 to MR 12 is about the same amount of mastery as 0 to 8 though. Does it feel a lot slower as you get higher or is your ability to level things easier more meaningful? I know doing MR6-8 since I came back felt really fast.
I did not regret potatoing my Hek even though im on the Veykor Hek train now. It is still one of my most used weapons.
Ranking up depends on how much stuff youre levelling. It will be slow if you do one thing at a time. I wemt from 9-14 pretty quickly by dmashing out a bunch of new and especially sentinels. They give 9k affinity between the robot and its gun.
The vayor hek is more of a sidegrade anyway. The normal one is still competitive with it's ridiculous syndicate mod.

So I got steel fiber on my Rhino and now I'm just unstoppable.
I think the reason why I like this game so much is that it's just Diablo but instead of random weapons and stats, you can choose what weapon you want and then make it as powerful as you want.

Alright I've noobed around enough that I may as well ask for a clan invite. Bobble42 on PC, if you please.
And I constructed a little dude that floats around and shoots things with me. Since he's a robot, he won't degrade like the dogs that people mentioned, right?

I did that test on a controller, and decided to do every jump from basically a standing start. Or rather, the last couple of jumps that require height - the opening stuff can be done with a double jump, with maybe one requiring a bit of glide.
It's totally possible to do the jumps without even moving the camera, as long as you jump from far enough back (about the middle of the platform) to avoid going too far.

It was horribly un-fun with the weapons I had at the time.
Now I have a Bo Prime with a stance in it and I'm a whirlwind of death and bonking.

@38thDoe I had already grabbed the mod for him, so I can either give you the Akboltos now or the Boltor tomorrow, whichever works for you.
I also have those Scattering Justices for people who are interested, save you having to grind that initial rep.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
Cat earned itself a dang Reactor.
Dunno when I'm gonna be on, might be on late tonight past like 10 or 11 pm.

there is a mod from bounties on cetus called gladiator aegis that stacks with steel fiber for even more unstoppableness
That seems to be the one that rarely pops up, so grab it if you don't have it.
