So, my Lanka is out of the oven, and, uh... is the wiki right on the punchthrough? Becaause it says it has significantly more punchthrough than my Dread but I'm definitely seeing shots that would have gone through a Grineer with Dread not kill the guy behind my target and therefore get me spotted.

I've been doing some tests with corners and walls, and it appears that while it does have punchthrough, it also deviates WAY harder than Dread does when going thorugh things, making the kind of trick shots through doors I regularly do with Dread rather risky and kind of a crapshot.
EDIT: ...honestly, I officially have no idea how this works. Some of these were extremely straightforward, "there's a Scorpion stuck together in a Lancer because pathing" shots, and yet nothing, only one gets hit. But it does seem to go through corners. So I dunno.
Punchthrough definitely does have a refractive effect with all weapons, so lining up shots can be problematic. There's also another effect that bows, boltors etc. have in that anything moving at high velocity can do damage, it's often easy to kill the grineer behind the one you just bowed to death with the flying body of the one you just shot.
The same mechanic has caused my own suicide with the itzals "teleport" ability, which is not actually teleportation but simply incredibly fast speed. Occasionally it stops juuuust close enough to a wall and hurts/kills me.
So I login and get a 75% coupon. I decided to buy Mesa since he seemed like the grindiest frame I don't already have. That still leaves 3 base frames I am missing though. But I will get them, all in good time.

See, I understand the refraction, I've actually kind of learned to harness it with Dread and literally shoot dudes in the water from behind the glass in Uranus before going in with my Archwing, but if punchthrough isn't enough to kill a dude right touching the one you're shooting, what good is it?
Like, I took a screenshot: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1408070263. From this image, I twitched slightly to the left and shot. It killed the first one, but did not even touch the second one - and these two are basically in superposition!
I saw a post and some comments on Reddit that cracked my shit up hard. It probably isn't funny to anyone that doesn't keep up with dumb Warframe Reddit memes like I do, buuuut
anyone want to help me farm up the parts for Octavia tonight? or maybe help me mop up the star map?
Also getting low on credits since I am building a bunch of junk to rank up for mastery so maybe I should get a credit booster and we can do some boring farming on endless missions for resources and credits too?
It was pretty cool, but honestly it's pretty clear at this point that the idea is that the Tenno Operator is not a player avatar but becoming a character of her own, so I would quite enjoy the chance to name her, please?
Also, the tenno powers are kind of unwieldy compared to the warframes. I'm going to need a way bigger energy bar if I'm going to use this thing.

You can get that. Also, it does help a lot to split the beam ammo out from the energy pool with an amp.

The Tenno powers take a not inconsiderable amount of time to develop, but after getting 1/3 of the way through the first school, they're totally worth the investment.
The time investment in building the first REAL amp using plains material is worth it too.
So, I found Onkko (you dick, your wife sent me all across the plains searching for you) and he gave me a fancy bracelet, and apparently I can craft Amps here? Except I have no idea how this entire thing works. I select three pieces but then I can't see what materials I need or anything.
Also, apparently these guys need me to kill Eidolons. And I'm like ah ha ha yeah right. Did you see those bastards? I've seen a couple and they were basically Kaiju! All I have is a shotgun! I already have trouble with normal bosses! Am I supposed to assume Operator mode is stronger against these guys or something?
Probably going to need a less stupid looking set of clothes for my Operator if I'm going to have to use her often, though...

Amps are like Zaws, you need to buy and build the component blueprints before you can actually assemble one.
Operator mode is primarily needed in Eidolon hunting because the operator's attack is the only thing that can damage its shields.
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.
Warframe/Steam: NFyt
Eidolon hunting is strictly endgame territory, so by all means ease into it slowly. Brace for a lot of fishing, collecting Cetus wisps, and mining.
They drop Arcanes, which used to drop from the 8 man raid (RIP, may it return soon); Chroma, Trinity and Volt are generally considered good picks for Eidolon hunting, with Rhino being another solid addition to a hunting party.
Definitely focus on getting an Amp that's better than the default Mote Amp: it's a massive quality of life improvement.
If I'm getting you right, that seems like a bit of a catch-22, doesn't it? You need standing with the Quills to buy blueprints for the amps. You need eidolon cores to get standing with the Quills. Amps are very useful to kill Eidolons, which is how I assume cores are obtained.
Also, I'm going to need a bunch of Ostron standing too for gem blueprints and fishing supplies and shit, I gather. Bleh. That is a huge pest to get.

Yes. It's kind of dumb for it to be so circular and the first tier should be easier at least.
Technically...
The vomvalysts at night are reliable for lesser cores that give a puttance each, and you can get those and the 500 cores on Lua, but...
And it doesn't avoid the Ostron grind at all, of course. I don't even know what to grind for that. Seems like euther spam bounties or mine gems maybe.
Spam bounties is what I imagine is the idea for Ostron standing, but it's a pain because Ostron bounties take a while, aren't the easiest thing in the world especially solo (since the area is so open, you kind of get shot at by way too many dudes at the same time and cover is often scarce, so I can't really manage with anyone that is not Oberon, and even then I generally have to limit myself to the 20-40 level bounty as a max), and involve a lot of boring running. And of course getting supplies to do the fishing and mining and stuff sets you back notably in the grind.
So I completed War Within like 2-3 weeks ago, then Chains of Harrow a week or so after that....
But still felt like I missed something when everyone talked about "Space mom abandoned us" and all that shit. Juuust now found the glowy thing in my bedroom. So yeah, wtf.
Well Ivara should be done in a day, Mesa will be done in a few more days... not too shabby. Atlas and Nidus are next.. then.. umm not sure.. not going to bother with Trinity, there is a few of the basic ones I could make for mastery xp but dont really need it at the moment. Should probably keep running relics and maybe luck out and get some vaulted bits.

Hoping for clarification on that soon. It feels like I missed a scene watching it.

That sequence is the "Apostasy Prologue", which is just a teaser for the upcoming "Sacrifice" quest.

Yeah, I know. I've seen it. But it does feel like I missed something with it, so I'm hoping Sacrifice clears things up.
Fishing is by far the fastest way to grind Ostron rep. One night fishing lungfish will get you close to the daily cap, while doing the same for something like Norg could get you enough to max your rep for several days in a row.
...and you will be fishing everything eventually if you go deep into spoiler mode stuff, as higher tier baits require lower tier fish parts.

Just get trinity prime. Grinding the plat should probably be easier (or get twitch prime)

Yea, already have her from before the Twitch giveaway, just not worth doing that grind for some extra mastery points

It helps that fishing is actually not that boring as such. Kinda zen. Problem is the resources. Need standing to get the recipes for the basic baits, and the dye, and then I need 22K to get to the next level to get the next fishing spear cause there's a few species that only take like a third damage from my current one and therefore escape, and then go grab iradite and nistlepod and shoot rabbits to make the baits, and then...
Move from fishing pond to fishing pond with the miner out (it beeps and shows distance to ore deposits when you're near), while picking up plants/ wildlife as you move.
Eidolon hunting is something you can do at nearly any stage of the game, plus it gives huge rewards for ranking quills standing. Just ask in alliance if anyone wants to go, or just hit up the cetus bounty board when night has fallen and you'll see one bounty to hunt the easy eidolon and one to hunt all three (very difficult if you're new). I would definitely do that to fast track getting a good amp.
As for fishing, you don't need any bait and only the starter fishing pole to grind out the lungfish which is by far the fastest method for getting cetus rep. You won't have access to the expensive fish for a long while, and lungfish are often more points per minute in any case.
You'll need the product of mining to build things, but it's not even close to as fast of rep gain as fishing is, I wouldn't waste a night period with mining when you could be doing lungfish or eidolon killing.

heh we're in the exact same place progression-wise, I also am just 10 wisps away from the last part of my first assembled amp

And lo did Limbo become 100% less terrible.
