Hows about neither? Their other IPs have been games I've actually wanted to play. Just could never get into any Fallouts after 2 nor any Elder Scrolls after Morrowind.
Prey, Doom, and Wolfenstein however, I love.
Yes, yes, flagship IPs and millions upon millions of people that love them and insanely high praise and accolades and an unfathomable amount of money. But what about me!?!?!?!?
My wild guess will be Fallout Shelter themed collectible card game!
Spring Cleaning event was entertaining. for the most part it just involved downloading and opening a bunch of games, but I did play a round of Dead by Daylight, Left for Dead , played the opening of two old old Sherlock Holmes games. But I also played through all of Rusty Lake Roots. That caught our attention well enough to play through the whole thing. My favorite bit was when my wife thought it was some kind of boring farm sim because it opened with you getting a seed and having to plant and water it etc. But then the uncles dead body fell out of the cupboard and the stuff with his nipple went places. That was a weird game but it entertained.
We also played 4/5 of Batman Enemy Within. That's been a pretty good one. I've enjoyed Telltale's willingness to create their own stuff there instead of just recycling book or movie plots.
Lot's of Battletech in the mix as well. Thanks again to @iolo for that.
Being sick the whole time did take a bit of the fun out of the long weekend, but I also probably wouldn't have spent quite so much of it on games if I felt up to going anywhere.

All of those have very recent releases, so I'd guess not...unless it's DLC. I do certainly want to see another Doom.
I feel pretty confident we will see a new release for ALL of those.
I enjoyed Prey (though didn't finish yet) but I'm forever going to be sad it was "Prey" and not a new IP and that we never got a proper sequel to the original.

Seems like whatever they're doing next as their big open world game, rumors seem to point to it being a new IP.
They already confirmed they're not working on TESVI at this time and I doubt Fallout 5 is coming anywhere near anytime soon so chances look good for that to potentially be the case.
What's the context here? Was there a rumor of them doing something awesome that is about to be shot down?
Bethesda is teasing some sort of Fallout announcement, which is weird given they're strongly rumored to be working on a big project that isn't Fallout, so the question then is what studio could be working on this? Hence people turning an eye to Obsidian.
And it's got 4 seconds of footage CENSORED on Steam (and the console versions).
I'm boycotting.
They didn't censor gore, sex, gory sex, children's heads exploding and drug use, what the fuck is in that four seconds to cause a panic?
The funny part is whatever it is was apparently so offensive that they said it can't be in the game or they couldn't sell it. Yes, even with everything else that's already in the game.
But they're gonna release it on youtube later so you can see what it was :rotate:
Keys still haven't gone out to backers, but Dan apparently has it already and just started streaming if you're curious about it.
Spoiler'd just in case Twitch screencaps anything untoward.

Am I really the only person who didn't enjoy New Vegas? I mean, the shooty-shooty bits were still fine, but I wasn't invested in any of the story. I never felt like my influence was important in what was happening.

Yeah the Prey thing only pans out if they just always use the Pip Boy/Please Stand By for all their broadcasts regardless of what they're about.
Maybe they'll use the Prey material as their E3 conference "It's a free addon and it's out now. Huzzah!"
I wasn't that into New Vegas either. But I think it was just a matter of it releasing too close to the original and i just didnt feel like playing more of the same.
This steam sale has been kinda meh. nothing i dont already have really...I really hate the new front page....You would think they could add simple quality of life features like 'dont show things i already own' on the sale list.
It wasn't a sale event, it was a spring cleaning event. It was the opposite of encouraging you to buy stuff... well okay except for the "free to play for this event" games

You’re not the only person on this forum who doesn’t like it, but it’s a favorite of many here, including myself. I actually felt with the way there were multiple endings in the game that I had a lot more influence over the direction of the game’s story. Still need to do my Yes Man run.
New Vegas was the first Fallout game I played and had an absolute blast. One of the few games I've finished with no regrets on the time spent. I was carrying my expectations from it going into Fallout 4. I would have dropped Fallout 4 way sooner without them, because it completely lacked the characters, the charm, even the story New Vegas had given me.

Don't get me wrong. I like Obsidian well enough. I just didn't want their kind of game in my Bethesda sandbox. I play Bethesda games with a certain mindset, and an Obsidian-style story isn't what I'm looking for. So the whole thing just didn't click for me and no matter how many times I try, I just can't make any headway in NV before I give up.

Wasn't all bad, had some certain improvements I liked like better companions and power armors as mechs but Fallout 4 was the first Bethesda game I struggled to finish and easily the worst of the three Bethesda era games.
I had just completely checked out by the time I got to Nuka World. Tried to start a few different second playthroughs since but the motivation always leaves me shortly after I start.
Never thought I would see a Fallout game as boring but Fallout 4 somehow managed it.
My character co-opted some of that Big MT technology to transfer Mr House's brain into a shiny new body and he now owns New Vegas as a metallic science-god.
I've never played a FO game and probably never will.
Booooooooo!
Though I can see why some people wouldn't like it. Personally, Fallout 3 to me was a revelation, first time I actually fell in love with an FPS game world, loved how they worked the lore into each place you visited, which for the most part was well written and voiced. Wasn't as much a fan of New Vegas or FO4, but eh, I still played and beat them while having a fun time overall. I just didn't get as absorbed into the game world like I did when I first played FO3

Starting this stream and then just letting it linger for over two hours kind of seems like a dick move, really.

Didn't Blizzard have a ten hour stream that was just a loop of Jeff Kaplan sitting in a chair?

There’s something about the Capital Wasteland that really grabbed people. It certainly grabbed me.
I was totally not on board with New Vegas when I first played it. I remember putting it down for a while before coming back to it and then something about the game really clicked with me. I think I ended up really liking the characters. I had fun working for Mr. House.
After my first playthrough, I did a second one in hardcore mode which was an interesting experience, albeit one I never want to repeat.

Capital Wasteland was a fantastic setting.
Just a shame they had all those fucking walls and sewers in the southeast you had to get around. Thankfully Bethesda seems to have learned that lesson.

Yeah, I've never cared for story in games. The only exception was Telltale's The Walking Dead. Outside of that, it doesn't do anything for me. Move things along quickly please, I've got places to be.

IMO, Bethesda RPGs aren't about the story anyway, which are usually ho-hum at best save for a couple of well-written sidequests. The draw is exploring some fantastical world, and I'm sure a lot of people never even finish the main questline.
I think the only Elder Scrolls game I've actually finished the main quest for was Skyrim, and it wasn't terribly worth it.

The best stories in Fallout games IMO come from wandering upon and exploring vaults then figuring out what happened there. Usually theres a good story behind it, but it isn't force fed to you via cutscenes and exposition, rather from the environment and text data entries strewn across terminals which are usually well written and worth reading

That's also why some of the best parts of Fallout 3 were the radio signal towers.
