Wish I had read this earlier today. I had a Mewtwo EX Pass and my app wouldn't start. Thankfully, I was overprepared and showed up to the Starbucks 30 minutes early. Thanks to free WiFi and a generous amount of free time I was able to reinstall my app and get my Mewtwo.
Threw a guy into a gym I've never seen before yesterday because we had two 3000+ pokemon defending it already.
It's been 19 hours and we still hold it. Everyone dropped to sub 500 over night but when I checked just now everyone is back at full health. I don't know how this is possible because when I give someone a berry they heal maybe 80 points.

I've been adding a bunch of people from the local raiding group lately so I just have way more presents than I'm allowed to open now Apologizes to anyone here if I don't open your present right away. Blame Niantic. I'm trying to cycle through people as best I can but it's hard to remember who I've opened recently :P

I've been lazy on opening presents as well, I tend to favour people who are really close to hitting the 7 day or 30 day friendship level so we can both get the XP.
The whole gift thing is really making me regret picking a user name that starts with a letter way down the alphabet.
I've been sorting by different things to try and hit up different people. Or sometimes I sort by friendship and scroll to the bottom to get the people who are still pretty low. Or I'll sort by gifts and try to open as many as I can.
I went on Saturday for one in my local area, and despite the fact that my local raid group is usually very good about using the raid chat and communicating, nobody said anything in the chat. It was scheduled for a Starbucks and they were all standing on the back side of the Starbucks (I assume because they weren't inside or standing in front), but sure enough, 3 minutes after it hatched there was a group of 12 people attacking Mewtwo. Afterwards I got my friend bonuses and everything so I know it wasn't a weird hoard of spoofers.
The take-away message is, show up five minutes early, and once it hatches keep an eye on the Raid Lobby. Just like a normal raid, it'll give you a number of how many people are in the lobby even before you've entered, so you can tell if the group is in or not. Other than that, bring your best bruisers and get ready to show Mewtwo who is boss!

Now to not find any more raids on my commute/lunch break for another week or so. :P

No point waiting for the raid lobby to show others. The pass is only valid for that raid and disappears if you don't use it. No harm in just starting the lobby and keeping them rolling until you get enough to get it done.

What if it starts without anyone joining and you auto lose? How many people do you need to win?
You can always retreat and go back in. Just like a normal raid, once you've used your pass, you can go back in as many times as you want until you've won.
Yeah, Mewtwo is not as difficult to take down as it would seem. Had a group of ten over the weekend and we took it down with plenty of time to spare, didn't even go through my entire team.
I had a shiny eeveeee at 9km when I first got to the part of the celebi quest where I need to walk it 10k. So I swapped out whatever current buddy I had for that Eevee. Walked it to 10 and change. Evolved it at 10am.
Fuggin Flareon.
Okay, maybe I fracked it somehow. No problem, I've got other foxes I wanted to evolve anyway. So now I'm at 3km or so walked with the new eevee. The quest progress bar han't moved from 0km.
Is there something else I should be doing? or is this a none bug and I'm just over a barrel?

A whole bunch of pokemon got slightly recolored. Which is slightly stressing me out, because I keep thinking "holy crap, a shiny! ....aw, dangit."
This last patch updated the game engine to the latest version (Unity I think? I don't remember) which changed a bunch of things with the lighting engine. That's why everything looks different.

The Eevee has to be your buddy when you evolve if you want Espeon (evolve during the day) or Umbreon (Nightime) after you walk 10k. I did the exact same mistake during community weekend. I had to walk the eevee to constant 10km and evolve as a buddy without changing it.

The final challenge is here! It’s time to come together and work on the last round of Professor Willow’s Global Challenge, happening on September 1 and 2 during the Safari Zone event in Yokosuka, Japan. If certain areas of the world can meet the challenge requirements,they’ll unlock bonus Stardust for catching Pokémon and hatching Eggs—including a guaranteed 3,000 Stardust for every raid—starting September 3 at 1:00 P.M. PDT. Also, until September 10 at 1:00 P.M. PDT, Trainers can unlock a bonus to earn Star Pieces that will last for one hour!
If the challenge is completed, Trainers worldwide will receive up to five free Raid Passes for Moltres Day, which features the Legendary Pokémon Moltres! On September 8, Moltres will be available in Raid Battles around the world for a three-hour period and will know the Flying-type move Sky Attack. If you’re lucky, you may be able to encounter a Shiny Moltres!

Also I'm somewhat miffed that I'm gonna miss the Moltres day. That's a lot of stardust and also a very good pokemon with the exclusive move. This event-centric nature of the game is gonna be more and more of a problem imo.
