My Charizards have been getting extra attention from me recently on account of the new mega system. Not many megas handle three types for the bonuses you get, so it was a no-brainer to mega level my highest/best one up first thing (since I also had lots of mega energy from best buddying it a bit back). So I definitely gave the ones of mine that I have been working on mega leveling the third move since it's so cheap. 25 candy and 10k stardust is almost unnoticeable.
Wife and I both managed to hatch Riolu's from 10km eggs. About damn time. We also both hatched Tirtouga and catch shiny Shieldons; she also hatched an archen which I'm super jealous of but I'll probably hatch one eventually
e: adventure sync rewards were ... okay? Looks like mostly just a bunch of extra stardust, which I'm always down for. Gotta level a poke 7 times for a field research so that'll be handy

They were more than okay for me - my 50KM got me twice the rare candy and silver pinaps I usually get (when I get both). You probably got extra too unless you filled up a bunch of egg slots.
mega Y is absolutely S tier right now, it's a very good investment and the recent special research would have handed you ~400 mega energy if you chose Charizard
mega X is also one of the best dragon types
movesets are a huge deal compared to IVs and even to pretty big base stat differences, the starter elite moves (blast burn etc.) are super op compared to any other fire/water/grass charge move

I think for moves there's a debate to be had wrt Damage vs Energy per second and energy cost on charge moves. Quicker charging means burning through shields faster, but more damage is its own reward

That depends on PVE vs PVP. Where faster charging moves are favoured more in pvp but high damage:energy ratios are favoured in raiding even if it's a slow charge. The other issue is that in PVE time doesn't stop when using a charge move, using very fast charging moves in raids actually means you can lose a lot of time to charge attack activation times. So you have to factor in the time lost from dealing damage with your fast attack while waiting for a charge attack to play out.
In pvp a quick charging move is great for wasting enemy shields so having one on every pokemon lets you bait shields and leave them with no defence when you fire off a nuke. Ofc those starter moves like blast burn are also great in pvp exactly because they are a moderate cost with very high damage.

I'll be honest, this game gives out WAY too many potions in general. I am constantly throwing tons of them away. I don't even want regular and super potions because they don't heal hardly anything when I'm this high level and I am always sitting on ~200 hyper and max potions (each, usually still after throwing them away).
I had a bunch of google play credit just sitting around so I used some of it on coins to buy more item and Pokemon storage. +200 item storage and +100 Pokemon storage get. Now I'll have to dump items and clean up my Pokemon box much less frequently, two things which hinder my enjoyment of the game.

For me it's the hyper/max that are redundant. Regular and super are useful for if I'm battling rocket, otherwise the difference between a max and a hyper is basically nothing.

I mean, this is true (I don't think I've ever seen a hyper not full heal.. maybe if you managed to get a Blissey to like 1 hp or something :P ). I'm just saying it's more a matter of "I have so many I'd rather use one hyper/max than spam 30 regular potions" :P Tho I still do that sometimes just to get rid of them rather than delete.

I find the opposite. As someone who very rarely raids, I am often very short on potions, and sometimes Revives, too. If I’ve had a run of Rocket battles or managed to place a lot of Pokémon in gyms recently, then I’m probably going to have a few in my storage that have fainted or aren’t completely healed. It’s usually not too hard to get some healing items, but I’m certainly not holding hundreds at a time.

Same boat here, I rarely get a chance to go out and raid and I commonly find myself in the position where I have to let Rocket balloons rot because I don't have enough potions to justify going after them.

It's also very different depending on where you live. I live in a big city and have a gotcha so I throw away hundreds of items every day. When I am in a rural location then sometimes I can run out of specific stuff.

That's probably true. Where I live is fairly rural but for whatever reason we actually have a pretty decent number of stops and gyms, especially in my downtown/old town (which is pretty small so it makes it kind of ideal to drive around for Go.. it's not like skyscrapers or anything, it's just kind of like a main street with little shops). On community days I usually drive around there and get a ton of stuff.
I do miss, I used to work on top of a pokestop so a lot of the time I'd let gotcha run and spin it all day for me. Not the case anymore tho
There seems to be some confusion so I'll clarify. I don't want to leave my house to do a raid. Indeed, I often can't, as I work. Additionally, I don't care about battle league. Therefore, premium battle passes are worthless to me; therefore I trash them.

Fair enough. I do a couple of raids per day so the bundle was a great deal for me.
Yeah I don't really do local/in-person raiding because I don't feel like leaving my house and wandering around looking for raids. Now, Mewtwo? I might hit up poke genie. We'll see, but unlikely.
Did they screw up the hit box? I'm pretty good making excellent throws, but not since the update. Now sometimes the ball blocks out the tiny circle when it lands, but no bonus is awarded.

Had a pretty great pokemon go day First off, finally downloaded Poke Genie and tried it out. Man, if this existed when I quit maybe I wouldn't have been as frustrated. Not having all that annoying coordination and basically being able to raid whenever I want is huge. Did some mega raids and a Mewtwo.. Had one asshole host who bailed on us and made me waste a remote raid pass, but we almost still won (we killed him but the stupid 10 second death animation caused the time to run out.. Still the absolute dumbest thing...). But still, despite that I had fun.
Then on the way home from my parent's, decided to drive around and do some catching. Ended up finding two Timburr raids (which I need super bad) and caught shiny Lunatone, Chansey and hat Pikachu, as well as hatching a shiny Alolan Sandshrew. Overall, pretty awesome Glad I decided to not go straight home
If anyone needs a Feebas, and is in Florida, head to the Canaveral National Seashore reserve. We decided to follow A1A South for a bit and found a bunch of Feebas and Tirtouga there.

Hmm. Yeah. All I got was balls and dust (plus the eggs).
e: okay yeah 20k stardust. Alright I guess

Yep, getting loads of balls and two premium raid passes for a single coin is quite definitely an insult.
I mean it's great for folks who do a bunch of local/in-person raiding or battling, but I literally junk mine because fuck that bs
Or you could try something like Poke Genie and turn your in-person raids into remote raids?
How does it let me convert my premium battle passes into remote raid passes?
You start a raid and then you can invite other people. All the benefits of a full raid with none of the social interaction.
How do I remotely start a raid with a premium battle pass?
Fair enough. I do a couple of raids per day so the bundle was a great deal for me.

Also 3-skull raids are Alolan Exeggutor, Slaking, Snorlax, and Dragonite (the last three are collector challenge pokes)
1-skulls are Chansey, Timburr, Larvitar, and Wimpod
And the megas are the Gen 1 Starters
Keep in mind Winpod will snork up 400 candy for its evolution, so get to grinding. The field research for spin five pokestops gives you one.
I sent you an invite, Tox.

Yeah I saw, sadly working so can't do any raids yet
I will likely host some lower skull raids this weekend if I end up buying the raid box
We can do this the easy way, or the hard way; but either way, you're getting in the ball.
